Went here recently for a no chip mani and a pedi. The no chip mani was done pre-vacation which was my reason for going. Well, I went too early since it lasted only six days before beginning to peel. On day seven my index finger polish completely peeled off (it had begun to peel day before), and then it snagged on my purse and was done. Also did the pedi pre-vacation. While trimming around my nail, the woman doing my pedi actually cut into my skin causing it to bleed. Fortunately, I used antibacterial ointment and peroxide and did not get an infection. The polish itself became dull within a week and now, not even two weeks later, already looks old and needs to be redone. I used to come here often, but have since quit going because of the cleanliness of the salon. I received a gift certificate, which is the only reason I returned. I am satisfied with my shellac manicure...I do they think they do good work, but it is the cleanliness I can’t get over. The wash cloth that was sitting under my hands as she cut back my cuticles had a previous person’s nails and chipped off paint color laying on it. Disgusting. The other thing is they utilize the same tools on everyone. The tools do not appear to be cleaned, rather they are used and then stored in a drawer or plastic case. The staff is overall friendly, but when they are not busy they are eating or watching television and it is work to pry them from their chair to come and help you. I also do not appreciate them answering their personal phone calls while taking care of customers. Went to have UV gel nail enhancements removed. I specifically asked if they knew how to do this and of course was told yes. They proceeded to rip the enhancements off along with a lot of my natural nails. I wanted it done right which it was not at all!! My nails are destroyed...I could have done that myself!!! Read Less

Mine were fine, but two of my daughter's acrylics were quite obviously not straight, unfortunately she didn't tell me until we got home so I couldn't get them to sort, the technician should have done this though when quality checking her own work. Also, when I went in February and they tried to charge me for using a debit card to pay I advised them that charging card fees was made illegal in January, when I went back in March they were still charging people for paying by card.....If I go back and this practice has continued I will be reporting to trading standards. I will not recommend at all. I was without any nails since October of last year. I received a full set with them not even a week later I was back for a fill. Visited for a gel application, absolutely no health and safety regulations adhered to - the technician used the same cuticle clippers on me AFTER using them to remove the glue from her desk, as they say - you get what you pay for - cheap, since removing the product my nails are brittle, very sore and one is infected - I would never visit again. To give this place a 1 star is way higher than they deserve.Horrible costumer service, race preference is an issue here! The ladies will pick who they want to take care off based on the amount of money you will pay, I had a bad job done to my nails a day prior to my visit so I was hoping this place would help me out by changing my color and styling them better but when that saw that was the only service I needed they decided to take care of other clients that got there after me and have me wait until they were done with the two other clients to finally take care of me, when they did the lady was very bossy on how I should get them done and ended up saying too much she was too busy so basically rushed. I live over 2 hours away from Leeds and was visiting family, but thought I’d stop in to get my nails done. Had my nails done here today for the second time, I don't live in Leeds but work up there occasionally and will always try to pop in when I have the chance. The service I received today and on my first visit was great by the gentleman and the younger lady. My nails look beautiful and there is such a good choice of colours. First time coming here yesterday and couldn't be happier. Stays open late which is good for me as I don't finish work until 6pm, good prices and excellent quality nails. First time coming here and I won't be returning. Very lovely people and environment, however these nails are way too short. I wasn't asked what length I would like and I asked for oval and was given square. I asked the person doing them to round them off more and they did a tiny bit so I felt uncomfortable to ask again. I got these done on Friday and it is now Sunday and 6 nails have already come off. I always get my nails done and they last at least a minimum of 2 weeks sometimes even 4 weeks. These nails haven't even lasted a couple of days. Very disappointed. Waste of £20. Read Less

I stopped going to this shop when it was under the old management. One day (which was a few years later) I decided to give them another try... I was pleasantly surprised with how this shop improved. I just had the worst experience at Finest Nails. I went there with a friend because she went there regularly and I am not very picky about nail salons. I got a man who seemed a little off, but did not want to be rude so I just went with it. However after he was "finished" with my nails I noticed some nails looked wavy, and gel polish should not look wavy. So I pointed it out to him and he tried to wipe some more alcohol on it and it instead wiped the color right off. So, he redid the nails in question. Then, I got a pedicure. During my pedicure he dropped some of the exfoliating cream on the ground and picked it up and put it on my leg! Ew! While I was waiting for my toes to dry under the dryer I start to look at my fingernails some more and notice others are wavy and I start to pull on them and the nail polish moves around and comes off. I got the attention of the lady who seemed to be in charge and she was very apologetic. So she took me back over (this is after being here over 1.5 hours and having some nails redone once already) and starts to wrap my fingers and take it all back off. I tried to tell her that two on each hand were already redone but she wanted to fix it all (which I appreciate the thought of). So I had to sit around for another 5-10 to let the nail polish remover soak. Then she started taking it all off and all the nails that had not been redone slid right off but the ones that had were gelled on so she had to let it sit longer and in the mean time had to file all of the base coat off. (Turns out each of the nail colors they use comes with a plain nail polish and a gel and he put the regular on my nails instead of the gel).Long story short, I said just remove it, I need to go home, I want a refund. She said "Ok I'll refund you $25" and I asked "How much is a gel manicure" and she said they were $35, but I got my nails shaped and all and that is $15. And I told her I had wasted a lot of time here and wanted a full refund and she obliged. Then on a side note, someone who was a friend of the family or something and was hanging around loudly called one of the workers a "B****" right in front of myself and another customer, very unprofessional. I've been here a few times for gel manicures and regular pedicures. It's close to where I live and not badly priced. I'm a little disappointed with a visit last week for a gel manicure. I felt as if the nail tech was rushing, and now not even a week later a bunch of nails are chipped due to the fact that my cuticles were polished. Went in for a gel manicure. Pros: no wait, open on Sundays, convenient and my nails look fine.But the reason why I would never visit again is the condition of the place. Nail techs were eating with their hands watching the game when I walked in...when a new customer walked in to get her nails done, he didn't even wash his hands...kinda gross. Also, nail dust everywhere, nail tech dropped cuticle clippers on the ground and didn't even bother to spray with alcohol. So, so, so conflicted on this one. First, the bad - this salon isn't great in terms of hygiene. The wrist rests on the manicure station are all ripped and cracked with the padding substrate exposed (shudders). Tools aren't autoclaved or disinfected much at all - merely sprayed with some alcohol. There's nail dust everywhere. Files and buffers - oh yeah, you know those are reused....Now you're probably thinking "JT, this sounds like a place you would have run screaming from and gone home to bathe in hand sanitizer" and you'd generally be right. BUT - my actual manicure is ON POINT. Sure, it was a no frills experience but my nails look goddamn amazing. My tech was lightning fast and I have nary a smudge or drop of polish on any cuticle. Seriously, in terms of results - best mani ever. And my tech was super sweet - just really enjoyable to be around. She joked a little and ended up steering me toward a polish that looked better with my skin tone than the one I had chosen. AND they're $10 cheaper than the the other local places (which are nicer but still...)I don't know if it's rude for me to bring my own toolkit? Because if that's kosher, I'd definitely go back because the results are great and the people are really nice. Read Less

I absolutely love this place. I just left finest nails-I opted for the deluxe mani (she even threw in the hot stone massage for free, without me inquiring about it), a shellac manicure, and an eyebrow wax. I had Tina, and she's amazing. She's very polite and did a completely perfect job. The deluxe manicure is more than worth it, their is definitely more bang for your buck than other places around. Shellac manicure is also impeccable-they don't try to upsell you on anything and have millions of colors. The 10% student discount, another great bonus. I'll definitely be returning. Read Less

I have been to Finest Nails before and I don't think I will plan to go back. My last experience was two Sunday's ago for a shellac manicure. I didn't have to wait which was nice. I'm not impressed with the time spent on my nails and quality of how they lasted, I should say how they didn't last. The woman was nice but we didn't converse. I like relaxing anyway. She kept removing my hand from the UV lights before the time was done. Two of my nails had chips in them within 2-3 days. I thought about calling and going in to get it fixed but I don't have the time for that. Another chipped later in the week and one nail completely peeled off within 7 days. So I then took them all off since they looked terrible. I get shellac so they look professional and so they they last to at least two weeks.  Which they always do since I don't do anything strenuous with my hands. The staff have always been kind but not very professional. They laugh, joke, and talk all of the time. Which is okay, but it doesn't make for the most relaxing time when I can't even hear the tv that's on. Exchanging money and trying to find change in front of clients also turned me away. Everything needs a good dusting. I could deal with the other factors of the place before this but now it's not worth it to come back. Not the most terrible customer service since I have been here a few times, but I will definitely spend my money elsewhere now. Read Less

I love this place. My nail tech Anna has been awesome since I moved here from Virginia Beach. She's been doing mynails for 4 yrs now . She has always provided great service and its superb now that she has taken over and owns Finest Nails! All the employees here are very nice and it's great environment . Customer service is quite good, I didn't have to wait very long either but when my nail tech tried to up-sell me an eyebrow wax to "clean them up", I agreed. Ten minutes later and my natural and thick brows were minuscule pencil thin lines right before I leave for vacation in two days! Do they not know natural brows are "trending" right now? If I could give this place a 0 I would.  I decided to try this salon for a pedicure because I like to give local areas in my neighborhood the business.  When I walked in I saw they were busy so I asked how long is the wait.  I was told 15 mins.  After 25 mins I was still waiting.  While I was waiting 3 more woman came in after me.   When I was finally called over to take a seat for a pedicure the 3 women who came in after me were also told to take a seat.  As the person starts to run the water for me to place my feet in the tube they walk away and the water is getting higher and higher.  I had to ask the tech working on the person next to me to turn it off.  Also the water was too hot for me to put my feet in.  Then  to make matters worse someone starts giving pedicures to the 3 woman who came in after me and I am still sitting with my feet on the side because the water was too hot and there is no tech working with me.  When I start complaining I was there before the others I am told someone will be right with me.  The tech who told me to sit down was working on someone else's pedicure. When I am finally waited on the tech was rough and I had to repeatedly tell him he was hurting me.  To top matters off even worse when he took me to the area to dry my feet  HE NEVER BROUGHT ME MY SHOES!!!!  Once my pedicure was dry I had to walk back over to the chair ask him to please hand me my shoes.  He repeatedly kept apologizing over and over but it was a little too late.  I even left a large tip and I don't know why I did that because the service was absolutely the worse I've ever been given for a pedicure.  I will never go to this shop again and have  recommended to friends not to go there either.  So much for supporting local business.  In this case they will never ever get my money again!!Review pt 2I have since tried a competitor across the street called Tip to Toe Nail Salon and let me said it is way 10 times better than this place.  The staff is friendly and they don't rush to get you out so they can get the next one in.  I received a true french pedicure which I did not at Finest Nails and the cost was exactly the same.  I will be recommending Tip to Toe Nail Salon to all of my friends and as I said before I will be telling them whatever you do DO NOT go to Finest Nails unless you like being treated like crap! This place was super easy. I was a walk in and didn't have to wait. I got the mani pedi combo for $38. Can't go wrong with that price! I had only an hour total and asked if they could make that work. They did and gave me extra time to dry my nails. The Polish did not chip after one week. I was very happy with my experience and will go again. No complaints. This is a great place for a walk in. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!  If I could give this place 0 stars I would!  This was my first time going here & it definitely will be my last!  I walked in desperate to fix 1 broken nail & get my polish changed. Waited about 15 minutes which is fine. The woman I had did not introduce herself so I don't know her name. She had shoulder length red hair with blonde highlights in it. She was so RUDE!  I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails and she goes "eww ugly".  Then she goes if you want that you have to wait for that guy and he's going to be a while. So I said "it's ok then just do whatever is easier for you". Then she repairs my broken nail and as she's filing it she says "I don't know how to do this shit". I was stunned I didn't know how to respond to that. She finished filing my nail & said "is this ok?"  It clearly did not match the shape of my other nails but I was so over it I just wanted to leave at this point so I told her that it was fine. Then she starts arguing with the guy next to her about who was going to paint my nails. I felt so uncomfortable I really just wanted to get up & leave. I am a hairstylist & I ran my own business. This is not the way to treat customers! She ended up painting my nails & she was bitching about how everyone waits til the last minute. The nail polish was old & sticky. I didn't even wait for them to dry, I didn't care at that point because I came home & re-did the nails "I paid for them to do" myself. After I paid her & left her a reasonable tip (which I shouldn't have but working in this industry I know how it is) she says "you come back next week to get fill ok". This is the neighborhood nail salon, no frills or glitter. I have no complaints. I do not call for appointments but yet they always get me started right away. The service is quick and very reasonably priced. Big massage chairs a nice. I kinda wish their color selection was a little better, some of the polishes seem a little settled. The staff have always been nice. I only get a basic pedi though, so if you want some fancy nail art, I'm not sure how this place will suit you but for basic maintenance, I'm definitely a repeat customer! Read Less

I will never return to Finest Nails! I had the most uncomfortable experience getting my manicure. I was the only customer in the salon and 2 workers were playing games with the sound on and talking on their cells phones. Two others were eating and talking loudly in the back room then proceeded to try to play wii on the tv I was watching. Besides the unprofessional atmosphere my nails were horrible. I've gotten "no chip" manicures three other times and they all lasted 2-3 weeks with no chips! After getting my nails done here I had a chip 2 days later than more 4 days later. I had a really good experience at Finest Nails on State St in Tosa this evening. I squeezed in a mani/pedi after work on a Saturday and they were accommodating. Clean, relaxing, friendly, did a great job on my nails, and no upselling. Priced comparably to other salons in the area but offer a better experience. The salon workers are native English speakers.
