I stopped in at Polished last week one day after work. When I walked in - I was immediately struck by how NICE everything looked and was decorated. I understood I was a "walk-in" so realized I may not be able to be seen or have to wait for a while. Erika (the owner) is the person who greeted me when I walked in and she was the one who did my nails. I also noticed that they use a fresh (sterilized) set of tools for each person. I have been going to see Laurin for my eyelash extensions for about 8 months now, and let me tell you she does AMAZING WORK!!! She is just super nice, very professional, detailed and never disappoints. I won’t let anybody else touch my lashes! I have been going here for over a year now. I love the atmosphere and the nail technicians. They are all willing to go above and beyond to satisfy any customer. My nails always look amazing :) I highly recommend this place because of how CLEAN it is. I think we can all agree that cleanliness is a huge factor in choosing a salon to go to. I absolutely LOVE this nail salon... Its VERY clean and gorgeously Decorated... Everyone is always smiling and happy to help.. My nail tech SANDRA S. is the best hands down she is VERY talented n creative..n makes me feel as if im sitting with a friend when shes doing my nails.. This place is beautiful! The staff have always been friendly, and professional. The Essie product line for "no-chip" manicure is awesome and, the only local salon to carry it. The prices are great, and staff are all licensed. I also REALLY appreciate the high standards for cleanliness and sanitation. I was not able to get anything done as we were told walk ins are welcome, but you should schedule an appointment 1-2 weeks in advance because we are full. The problem is this was meant to be a surprise from my boyfriend, to me for Sweetest Day. He checked beforehand and saw that walk ins are welcome and being a man he took that as being able to surprise me without making any phone calls. Unfortunately his surprise blew up in his face when we were told how far in advance to make an appointment and were turned away, so you lost a $100+ sale today and I won't go back in the future. Avoid this place like the plague. The decor may look nice and appealing but the products are inferior & total crap. My mother's nails were turning yellow due to the products during her service at the salon and had to be redone while we were there. They "fixed" it there but again within 12 hours the same exact thing happened but much worse. Her entire nail bed of the French was completely yellow. When she called to complain, they admitted to her on the phone that they used the wrong product on her nails and offered her a fill at no charge. She went back in to have it redone like they said and now they are refusing to fix it!!! And are blaming her for the yellowing of her nails!! My mom doesn't smoke nor use UV sun lamps. Plus they were yellowing and had to be redone right before their eyes while we were even at the salon!! We've been getting our nails done for over a decade and never encountered this. The business is gorgeous and the decor is amazing. Everything is spotless and the customer service is fabulous. The prices are a bit more for the area but to be honest, I don't mind paying more for something when it's done exceptionally or superiorly. I think there may be several levels of expertise but the cost is the same. I am not one who enjoys confrontation so I just except whatever it is and move on. It's not that my service was horrible it's just that what I paid for i...s not what I received. I paid a lot for my service but I don't feel that it was worth it. The person who worked on me was adorable and very professional. She did all the right things regarding customer service and pampering the customer but her expertise was just not at the level to be charging as much as I was charged. Like I said, I don't mind paying a lot for service and the price is not the issue. The issue is if the expertise is not at the highest level than you shouldn't charge for that higher level. My manicure, called the no chip manicure had bubbles in it and was not close to the cuticle and just minor things like that. It looks like I've had it for more than a week, and I will just leave it at that. My pedicure was OK. I upgraded from an express pedicure to a signature pedicure but that seemed to just add a scrub. Your place is very wonderful and I was hoping to find a forever nail place. I may give you a try in the future but I wish you all the luck and success. Polished BB looks amazing inside, it's decorated really nicely and is really clean. They don't use the same tools on multiple people which is really nice. Sandra did my nails and I would give her a 10/10. She is amazing at what she does and is very creative and patient. However, 40 for a fill with no design or glitter is a little outrageous. The other place I go to is 28 for a fill, and then I know IVY nails is 30 for a fill. I understand you're paying for the experience and professionalism, but 40 is just WAY to overpriced. I'll come back again because I love Sandra, but unfortunately it will only be for special occasions when I need my nails to look perfect. I just can't afford that much money every two weeks. While the salon is beautiful, that is not enough to go back for. This was my first time there, I called for directions and the receptionist didn't even now if they were located east or west of Green Bay Road. Then I waited 10 minutes in the waiting area after my appointment was to start, I asked how much longer. The receptionist checked and then suddenly said I could go back, yet no customer left, so what was the wait for? The girl doing my nails was nice but did not make conversation. Then I went to pay for a fill with gel polish and it was $50.00! I did have some sparkle added but it was not worth $50.00. I wish I could write a glowing review of my experience at Polished Beauty Bar, but truthfully, I was disappointed. I've never had a manicure before and I wanted something special. I booked in person and mentioned I would like a simple chevron design on some nails. The girl who scheduled my appointment said I could bring in a picture and the nail tech would go from there. She said an express manicure would be enough. So when I showed up for my appointment, the nail tech said t...hat due to time constraints, she could not do the design on my nails. I don't know what time constraints she was referring to because she had already mentioned that she had been called in to work that day and I was her only appointment. I informed her that I would be willing to upgrade and pay more, and she replied she still couldn't do it and that they didn't have the stencil anyway. What kind of nail place doesn't have stencils? Anyway, the interior is beautiful and shabby chic, but the employees do not complement the atmosphere. They looked like they had just left the couch wearing flip flops and flannel... I wear flip flops and flannel too but not in a professional environment.
