First time in here it was grand along with the second! But the third was awful as far as the techs assumptions on me!!! As I was feeling as tho I was being told what I was going to get done rather then what I asked and wanted!! And there’s no way I’m going to be intimidated which is clearly what this tech was doing!! I told her my gel manicure is chipping and when the gel comes off my real nails will split underneath and before telling her it’s due to a condition I have she began telling me to be more careful in how I work for a living as to why my gel nails were chipping!!! I stated how did you determine that? I let her know that she can’t make claims on ppl like that first and foremost it isn’t her job to determine that how doesn’t she know if somebody battling a condition that’s causing their nails to become more brittle!?! You don’t so therefore u just do what I asked!! If a customer wants an extra coat of polish or shellac or what ever and is saying charge me that’s fine for the extra yet you still want to be rude and ask why?? Now I’d understand there was some sort of risk in doing that but there isn’t!! This was just plain rude!! I’m sick of the fact it’s like we as customers are supposed to adjust to the techs no you adjust to us too what we ask and want as we are paying!! It’s like every time I walk in to one of these salons now days I feel I have to be quiet and not ask anything extra!!! Not cool! I’m not one at all to ask for details and designs etc as I’m simple and plain sort to speak but even asking for an extra coat of shellac due to a condition I have she assumed it’s how I care for them????? And asking her for anything nearly upset this tech rather then her trying to help me figure out a better way to make the nails stronger like just having acrilic done. Just irritating! I have been going to a nail salon in Milwaukee but needed a quick fix without the drive... I was set up with Kyle and he was awesome!!! He is a perfectionist to say the least. There are quite a few excellent nail technicians there as my daughters have been going there for years! I love my nails, I love the atmosphere in the shop and I can’t wait to get a pedicure!! We had 6 adults and a child. We had never been to one before. They did not explain anything to us. They told me to go wash my hands but never told me where to go. The lady I had did not speak clear enough for me to understand. I did grow up in Japan so I am used to hearing accents so that was not the issue. The lady yelled at my mom because she accidentally bump her finger and messed up the polish. She also yelled at my 3 year old granddaughter because she didn't tell her to how to hold her hands so she messed up her polish also. They charged more than I was quoted then couldn't figure out the correct cost at the end. I think it is very rude to talk about clients right in front of them. We won't be going back. Read Less

I paid $95 for a gel set and pedicure. It's been like 2 weeks and 3 nails came off already. Ive never had gel nails fall off like these, anytime ive had a set of gel nails they were stuck there for at least 3 months if i didnt keep up with them. And they would rip my nail if i ever did anything where mt nail was bent or something.... I had to go back for the 2nd time in 3days after I got them done. So when I went back I had to argue with the lady to get them redone. And pay extra. $20 extra. The lady acted like it was a chore. And was mad that I asked to do another coat her words were I already put the top coat on. Its just a spray and wipe and no polish comes off. So I paid for media pedi and so I walked in with matching nails so I'm leaving the same way. So she was trying to charge me to get the polish off. Like what. But thanks to my mom we got them done no charge. My toes are darker than my hands. I got a Steph infection from a pedicure and it ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks out of work for 2 months. I had kidney failure because I was allergic to the antibiotics and I have health problems ever since that happened and it's a year! I had to do chemo,dialysis,plasmapheresis and I'm on a whole bunch of medications and I went and told the owner him what happened And he said oh I'm sorry! 3 stars because I have been going to Ivy for a few years now and they usually do a fabulous job! The trick is to go right when they open. And this is where they lose stars... when they are busy, they rush. And that was a shock to me how the treated my friend. The gentleman was sanding her nails so fast and pulling on her hands that she snapped on him and he just gave up telling the owner that he didn't want to do her nails. It was embarrassing. But things got better when she was sent to my favorite girl, Jane. She is the sweetest woman. Very gentle and gives you exactly what you want. I go to her every chance I Get! But heads up if you do choose to go to ivy... NEVER GET THE FRENCH TIP chilac. I've gave them multiple chances and every time they have chipped within 24 hours. I will go somewhere else for french tip. I will continue to go to ivy because it's pretty much home to me, but I will only go right when they open so that they don't rush me. I went here after not getting my nails done for awhile. I told them I wanted neon green polish but they did not have any in the polish rack. The guy asked me if I wanted powder instead. I asked what the difference waa since Ive never had it done before. He told me that the ONLY difference was that it lasts longer than polish. So i said sure. He completly missed about half my nail on 2 of my nails will the gel powder. Then he Never told me that in order to actually change the color I would have to get the set completly removed and a new set put on. All he said was that it was the same as polish just lasted longer! I would never have gotten the powder had he told me that I could change the color like you can change. I feel like it was a COMPLETE WAIST OF MY MONEY! I paid 65 dollars including tip. Just to have turn around and get them taken off 2 weels later because of something they could have easly told me. Also I went with my Aunt and the man that did her nails cut her finger.She said it hurt and he did not stop. Her finger was bleeding. And he still did not stop til she pulled her and away. I used to go to ivy nails for years when I lived in Racine. I drove about 2 hours to get my nails done for my baby shower and spent $75 on the worst nails ever! I wanted a French tip ombre and showed him a picture and had it sitting there as he did my nails and he kept insisting he can do it and had to redo it a couple times and I was to the point I gave up and just paid and left and the manager could tell something was wrong and came and looked at what he was doing and they knew they looked horrible and he and the guy doing my nails knew they were for my baby shower for the next day and they let me leave with these horrible nails that look uneven,not cleaned up and nothing like the picture. I'm never going back. I'm not one for making a scene especially when they are about to close for the day and it was still pretty busy. Quite displeased with my service. I'll start off by saying, please do not speak to other employees while doing a customer's nails, you make "me" the customer feel awkward and uncomfortable, especially when NOTHING employee look in my direction.. with this being said, I was actually referred by a friend years ago, and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. Times change and obviously staff does too . I will be filing a complaint with head off/ management on BOTH of my experiences at this shop.. 1st altercation, I felt rushed I had a full set with color and 3 gems added on each ring finger, both hands gems fell off less than 24 hours of having them done, my work schedule wouldn't allow me to take off, my index nail Cracked and middle finger broke off.. I recently went in for a full fill and 1 nail replacement n I walked out paying again another 30$$ the next day, my thumb nail popped of with the slightest bit of pressure. I do NOT Want to come back so you guys can mess up my nails again, I have a mount of acrylic under my middle finger where she clearly could have cleaned, thinned down.. both alter altercations I felt rushed.... I am a very dissatisfied customer and I do NOT plan on rsturning.. I always like going there for pedicures & are great for walk-ins. They have recently remodeled and added some more pedicure chairs. The shop is nice and clean. The owner Max, is always there and is very accommodating. A woman named Shirley does my nails but I have to call ahead to make sure I can be scheduled with her. If I could rate it a 0 I would. I will not be coming back. I came in with my sister who I had an appointment to get a manicure with after her pedicure. I ran to bed bath and beyond sat and sat and sat when I got back. They had forgotten about my appointment even though it was in the book and they told me to take a seat when I got back. Then a woman rushed over to me and began sanding down my nails for acrillics. I was not getting acrillics. She rushed to paint my nails with shellac and didn't even cover the whole nail.Too busy and they should not take walk ins if the people who have appointments get short changed and rushed. Stay away. Seriously. The guy who did my nails was so rude. He yanked my arms around and cut two of my fingers to the point of them bleeding. Then he yelled at me for talking and snapped when I flinched in the slightest. He also tried to scam me into upgrading to gel. Nothing fancy but they did a good job.  I got a pedicure and my niece got a manicure.  As of today, my pedicure still looks good.  My niece chose this place because they were one of few open the day after Christmas and they had the lowest price for a full set of nails.  We wanted a together experience and I didn't realize there wasn't a way for us to do that since the spa pedicures are in the back and the manicure stations are up front.  You can get special foot scrubs for an additional cost but I didn't.  They will offer you soft drinks or water, too.  My niece was very pleased with her nails.  They were beautiful.  She said the guy asked her before he came up with a "design" but she didn't understand him.  In the end, it didn't matter because she loved her accent nails.When we went, there was a winter giveaway.  Spend $35, get a very nice bottle of massage lotion!  I believe the pedicure was $25 and the full set was $35. The lady that did mine cut me and proceeded to take an old dirty towel to wipe the blood off and put my foot back in the gross water. Buyer beware. They gave me chemical burns doing a pedicure. When I told girl it burned, she sprayed alchohol on my feet- kid you not. Burns are healed but scars on tops of my feet now. I had a horrid, awful experience at Ivy Nails yesterday. I should mention I have been coming here for pedicures for about 4 years. Last time I was there, it was a bad pedicure. I figured it may have been just a bad day for the woman who did my pedicure, and nothing worth giving up on them entirely for. Well, yesterday confirmed to me that their great pedi's are no longer available unless you get the one good person there out of probably 20+ employees. Yesterday's I called ahead and made a pedicure appointment. The employee (a different woman), rushed through my pedicure so fast, it was the furthest thing from relaxing or even worth paying money for. It barely lasted over 15 minutes. She was RUDE, said literally 5 words in english to me the whole time, was annoyed when I couldn't understand something she said to me & asked her to repeat it, and she was extremely sloppy at her work. She didn't even let my feet soak in the water, started removing my old polish which she didn't even completely remove. She was rough with my feet, and then barely even scrubbed my heels with the pumice scrubber. She put cold lotion on my legs when they were dripping wet, slopped it up and down and it felt so gross because it was like her rubbing water up and down my legs and feet - weird and not at all relaxing. You know it's a bad sign when the lotion doesn't even absorb in your skin and it looks wet - because it's all water practically. The lady getting a pedicure next to me even noticed. I have always loved the warm towels they put on your legs there while they apply the polish - well, she literally threw it on my legs and it was SO HOT, then patted my foot, and didn't even leave them wrapped on my legs. Same thing for my other leg. Then she made me put my feet back in the water - WEIRD - and why when I have lotion on my legs and feet and they are clean? I was furious at this point, and wanted to get out of there immediately. The woman then grabbed my nice leather strappy sandals and put them on my wet feet without drying them off and asking me first - I stopped her and asked her to dry my feet off before that, and she threw my sandal back down on the floor and gave me the dirtiest look because of it. Needless to say she barely patted each foot dry and made me put my wet feet in my nice sandals even when I asked not to. She then put on the polish SO messy - it was all over my skin around toes, and then said "go dry" and pointed to the UV dryer. Worst of all, she immediately asked me to pay, I had a card, and when she came back she stood looking over me with her hand out waiting for a tip, when I didn't think she deserved a dime for what she just did. I told the young woman with long blonde hair who was cleaning the pedicure sinks as I left that she was awful and it was nothing but a terrible experience. My pedicure was nice. I felt like he rushed it and the fact that I had to pay an additional fee for sea salt seems silly. I think that sea salt should be mandatory and up the price to include it. I have been a customer for Ivy Nails since they opened their doors. I can say without a doubt that they are the best nail salon in southeastern Wisconsin. They are extremely friendly and accommodating to all customers. Their salon is immaculate and there isn't a Health Departnent on earth that could find a problem.
