I could give 5 stars if they stop talking so much and concentrate on their work. I have been more than 2 hours in the place for a filling and pedicure and not because they take the time in me. It is because they talk a lot and for anything they get distracted and then they rush to finish quickly leaving a horrible job. Also, they want you to make an appointment just to keep you waiting while they work with other clients or disappear to go eat. I already tried 4 different specialists in star nail. They did a good job the first time, which makes you come back, but the next time the quality of the work decreased a lot. Although some clients say that star nails has good prices. It irritates me to pay $ 25 just to have my nails painted instead of a real, clean pedicure. I will not do my pedicure at star nail anymore. Read Less

The person I got filed my nail so hard that she ripped my skin open. After I washed my hand and cleaned up the blood, she without warning applied some type of blue liquid that stung. During polish clean up, the remover dropped into the open skin and dealt a second round of careless stinging. I was given no discount and I tipped for my pedicure only. I'm looking forward to a week of painful activities using the dexterity of my little finger that has been ripped open. Never again. Read Less

I had my first experience with The Nails and Brow Bar on Saturday and I loved it so much I took my daughters for their nails doing too. The staff were friendly despite being really busy. Absolutely worth the 45 minute drive from my hometown.  I got the ultimate pedicure with a manicure. The woman who did my nails paid great attention to detail and got the polish perfect without me having to say anything (I'm very picky). The ultimate pedicure had a lavender leg scrub, a mud mask for your legs and a hot towel massage. It was very relaxing. The massage chairs were nice too! Just called in for a simple file & paint having finally grown my own nails so disappointed that the man has butchered my nails & totally ruined them!! I did express my thoughts and was told they could put tips on if I was not happy - this totally defeats the object of me having grown my nails out in the first place!! The blonde haired girl is always pleasant and it is usually her that does my nails but after today's experience nails & brows you are no better than pink nails you should try "communicate" with people instead at being so damn rude!! My gel polish chipped off on five nails the day after my fill. It was peel-y on the sides for all of the nails. On one nail the polish came off completely. The artist who did my nails was totally sweet, but it took her almost two hours for an easy fill/color. I probably won't return.Read Less

Absolutely the best manicure I've ever gotten! I am visiting from out of town and had gotten the worst manicure I've ever had right before we left. Walked into here and they fixed my nails in no time. So gentle, none of my fingers were cut as opposed to having scabs on every finger from my previous manicure. We were in the area and I really wanted a pedicure and I noticed a lot of people going in to this place. I was a walk in but they seated me promptly. It was a small wait for my pedicure. There are 10 nail stations set up side by side so people are really packed in. There were about 5-6 pedicure stations with tubs. I had one of the best pedicures I have ever had! Anthony was very nice. I don't really like pedicures because I am very ticklish but is was bearable. It was $25 including a nice foot and leg scrub. I would stop by again if in the area. Read Less

I love "Nails & Brows" I have been coming to the salon since they first opened. The salon is immaculately clean and tidy, the staff are so friendly and nothings too much trouble for them. The whole team are really kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend this salon (and I have). You get what you pay for its not a cheap pop up nail shop. It's a professional salon using, high quality products for high quality results, at reasonable affordable prices. In a time where businesses have to compete with cheap unlicensed, uninsured places popping up everywhere it's hard to keep customers who are tempted by cheap deals, who are cheap for a reason!! I've been having my nails done here for about a year or so. Owner seems aimed to please and works hard, but too fast—nails not always to my liking. (I am kind of picky). I always make an appointment but many times have to wait; however, compensated for by discounts I would rather pay the normal price and not have to wait. A little noisy for me. As of late the T.V. is far too loud with programming that is offensive to me. Too much club talk—on owners birthday he asked who was going to give him a lap dance that is vulgar. I used to come here w/ my mother when I was younger and we loved it. I haven't been here in years and since I moved back to the area, I thought I'd give it a shot again. I walked in and first annoyance was it had to be at least 90 degrees inside. I was instantly sweating. No ventilation, no a/c - nothing. I was getting a mani and pedi. My tub water was hot as can be. The lady next to me complained as well and it took over 5 mins for someone to help her and even then they acted as if she was an inconvenience; eye rolling and such. My pedicure was extremely rushed and the lady was rude. Pulling or pushing my legs in or out of the water - instead of speaking to me. My manicure was one of the worst experiences ever. My hands looked worse leaving then how I came in. During the process of removing the dead cuticles she was pulling and tugging so hard at my skin, creating new tore skin and leaving it. My skin and nails did not look nice at all. The polish was on my cuticles, on my skin on the side of the nail. Just bad. I've done better myself, with my left hand. I just wanted to get out. I hardly ever leave reviews, but I just have to say that this place is just quality. It might not be the fanciest aesthetically, but they know what they are doing! They take their time, have great personalities, senses of humor, cleanliness, professionalism and style. For 4 months straight I had my nails done and filled exclusively at Star Nails, not once did I even have one break! Then I had a gift card to use at Bellagio in OC, so I had them done there- within a week, two had broken. Then on Mother's Day I wanted to get them done but Star Nails was closed (heartbreak!). So I went to Empress Nails in OC. Not only have 4 broken, but one broke so badly that my real nail lifted from the skin underneath! They weren't just fills, either. Ugh! I used to go to this salon every two weeks to get my nails done, but about 2-3 years ago I decided to take a break. I went back this afternoon to get my eyebrows done and when I walked in, I realized how much I missed going! I ended up, not only just getting my eyebrows done, but my upper lip, and then had a shellac mani as well. Everyone there is still very nice and friendly, just as before. I went here because it was very close to home and it had good reviews. I couldn't be more unhappy with both my experience I had there the day I got my manicure and with the results of my manicure since. The shellac manicure that I got last week began chipping/peeling off within 2 days of getting it done, plus I immediately noticed that there were bubbles in the polish AND there was shellac polish all over my fingers. The guy who actually did my nails was bouncing back and force between me and another woman there, and did not wash his hands between touching either of us which is disgusting and could spread infection. My friend and I were looking for a new place to get our nails done. We were driving down 27th street when we saw Star Nails and noticed it wasn't busy so we thought we would try it out. It must not have been busy for a reason. I had received the WORST service. All I asked for was fake nails and colored tips. I was told they cannot do that. I tried talking to them and explaining what I wanted for almost 20 minutes, when another lady got up to pay and I noticed she had exactly what I wanted to get done. But they still insisted they cannot do that..? I was far from impressed and I will make sure to tell everyone not to go there, they were extremely rude. Read Less

Decided to go for manicures with a friend. I called the day before and made an appointment for 3pm. We arrived at 240pm, but they started working on us right away. They do accept walk-ins, but I would recommend an appointment. While we were there, three other people showed up within minutes of each other. It got busy very quickly. The place is clean. As a woman was finishing her pedicure, I watched them thoroughly clean out the foot bath with chemicals and a scrubber. Halfway through my manicure, I decided on a pedicure. The manicure was nice and relaxing. My polish still looks good today. Normally, I have it chipped by now.The pedicure (my first) was complete heaven. I sat in a massaging chair and put my feet into a nice bath. The foot and calf massage was wonderful. He put a new blade on the skin shaving tool before removing the dead skin on my feet. He massaged and scrubbed my feet until they were looking beautiful. The cost for pedicure and manicure - $37. What a steal for the awesome pampering they offer. I will definitely be going back.
