I visited Nail Design for the first time today. I had been becoming dissatisfied with my previous nail technician & today I found my new Holy Grail! I called before I came and they insisted I just come in. I was pretty skeptical because I didn’t have to make an appointment. Usually an appointment is necessary if I wanted to be in a pedicure chair within thirty minutes. But I arrived & they greeted me right away & I was in a pedicure chair instantly. I received dual service, shellac manicure as well as pedicure simultaneously. Excellent service, welcoming attitudes, I will definitely be a regular here. I was in and out within 1.5 hrs. This salon is hands down my favorite and the best I have been to.  My first visit was a random stop in 5 years ago when I had just moved to MKE. (My fav restaurant, Ono Kine Grindz is only 2 doors away!!) I noticed that many of the people who came in were regulars- greeted by name and with kind familiarity. The pedicure I received was fine overall. However I noticed the staff talking to each other and looking in my direction. I asked them what was going on a couple of times. One staff person asked me " can you understand what I am saying ?!"  It was clear at that point they were likely saying things that they would ordinarily not say to my face in English. Won't go anywhere else! Very clean, super friendly and professional and always go above and beyond. They always have new colors and stay on top of the trends. I'm very particular with my French manicure and every time it's perfect. I never even have to ask for a specific nail tech because they all do a great job. Beware, This place was, by far, the dirtiest nail salon I have ever been to, I made the appointment because it is close to my office and thought that I'd try someplace new. The nail techs were very chatty with each other, really unaware of the surroundings it seemed, In addition to really rude nail techs. While I was sitting getting my gel fill, the woman next to me asked the man nail tech to take notice of her nails because she had made the appointment for a fill, he was rude, telling her that they didn't need the fill, I was truly shocked at the conversation that I witnessed. As it took less that 30 min for my gel fill, she nicked me twice. The pricing specified 25 for a gel fill, on they're price board and online, I was charged $33.00. Hmm. Really? Decided to step into this nail salon and get a white full set with a gel pedicure and I'm glad I did. Right away I was greeted through the door and asked what was needed within 5-10 seconds of being there I was already in the chair getting ready to start my pedicure.The woman who did my pedicure was pretty awesome I love the way she took her time especially when it came to the massaging part..I love the gentleman who did my white tip  full set even though he took a little longer than usual my nails came out exactly the way I wanted them to shape and all.So after all is said and done I would definitely see myself returning to this salon and for all the right reasons, I definitely appreciated that a1 service.. Best pedicure ever!! A guy, John - I believe- did my pedicure and he was fabulous! I'm a runner so I have some definite toe nail issues as well as calluses.  I'm 44 and I've had many pedicures in my life. But no one has taken such detail and care and each toe. I am not kidding. I also noticed there were many regulars I thought the whole staff is great and friendly and so were the other clients! I plan to pay by credit card and I did not have cash. A wonderful regular name Sarah told me not to worry she will cover my tip for John! What!? Amazing! Thank you Sarah and thank you John for the great experience. I'll be paying it forward. My sister was in town and we walked in around lunch time in hopes of a mani/pedi. They seated us right away and we both agree that it is the longest/best mani/pedi we have ever had! I was worried they were going to upcharge us for the deluxe or something as the leg massage was so long, but no, that's just how great they are! I was asking about lunch recommendations for after and my tech ran next door to grab us a menu - so kind of her! The prices are extremely reasonable and I will certainly be back! I came by with a friend for a gel pedicure for myself and regular pedicure for my friend. My two month old son also came along for the ride.  It was lunchtime on a weekday so we called in advance to see if they had time for us.   They told us to come on in. As soon as we got into the salon they escorted is to our seats which was wonderful!  The water was the perfect temperature and both of the nail artists were very attentive.  My friend and I both thought we received the longest and best foot/calf massage with warm lotion compared to any other nail salon.  They took care in shaping and designing our nails and the pedis turned out beautifully.I was also able to nurse my son comfortably and they were helpful when he had an explosive diaper! Probably a 3.5 for me overall. I decided to check out this salon after a bad experience at my usual place (super rude tech) and was generally happy with it. On the plus side, they autoclave tools which is great. If you're getting a pedi, they have the super comfortable big massage chairs for you. Staff is really friendly - they seem to know most clients by name which means they have a lot of regulars. In terms of price point, they're about the same as other local places ($35 for a no-chip mani).Because they have a strong core of regulars, it is probably best to make an appointment at busy times. Walk ins are definitely welcomed but if you don't like to wait, get your time locked down. As an example, every pedi chair was full at 5pm on a random Tuesday night. On the minus side, my mani took forever - like more than 1.5 hours!!! (I'm not kidding) My tech was really trying to be meticulous which I appreciate but the overall effect was still "ok". There was a bunch of polish smeared on my skin (nbd, can clean up later), some nails are kind of wonky in shape and I have some rough edges to buff out (because the tech did some filing after polishing??). Overall, definitely not the end of the world. Would I go back? Probably yes (hopefully with a different tech) - everyone was really nice, I like the autoclave for tools and it's close to home. Got my first mani and pedi here today - choose this place based on the prior reviews, and I got an emissions test just down the block at O'Gorman's Auto, then headed over here.  Nice place, and really nice staff.  They do a great job and don't make you feel rushed.  There are about 5 or 6 pedi massage chairs, and the massages are nice.   Looked like a lot of regulars coming in as they knew the techs by name - repeat business is a good thing.  There is also a framed article in the store about the business and the fact that it's family owned.  Wish I had discovered this place sooner.  Andy did a great job on my pedi, and my mani is nice too - I decided on the mani at the last minute but I didn't catch the girls name.  Both pedi and mani come with a leg/foot and/or hand massage...always a nice thing... and they do multiple coats of polish for durability. I checked and they use an autoclave and she opened the package in front of me. Very comfortable massage chairs and very clean place. The lady, LeeLee, was so very nice and carried on a conversation with me the whole time. And when I closed my eyes to relax she let me. Easily the best nail salon I've been to! The staff is friendly, professional, respectful, and in tune with what you want your nails to look like. When I walked in yesterday, I was offered some hot tea, and when I sat down for my mani-pedi it was in a self massaging chair. I received a birthday certificate for a mani/pedi and decided to cash it in today to get ready for a work function tomorrow! So glad I did!! I did NOT have an appointment and was able to walk right in. I chose a color for my toes right away and sat in a cozy chair in front of a nice flat screen with a fun designing show that was on. My massage chair did its job while the kind woman began my pedicure! During my pedi another kind woman approached me to begin my mani! Talk about the pampered life!!! All of my limbs were given proper attention and I am now leaving with a beautiful mani/pedi for my work function tomorrow!! So grateful for this birthday gift! The service was spot on! I have been going to this salon since I moved to the area 2 1/2 years ago and have never been disappointed as a walk-in customer.  Sometimes if you call ahead to set a time, the appointments still aren't started on time because they do try to fit in as many walk-ins as they can, but I've noticed they are getting better about this.  But the staff is friendly and courteous and I'm always happy with the services I receive. I have been a client for over a year - best value for shellac mani-pedi's - my ideal choice for summer!  What is not to love about this salon - friendly staff, affordable prices, great customer service!  Whether I have an appointment or not, one of the ladies will squeeze me in.  Andy gives the best pedicures and foot massages!  I suggest making an appointment on Saturdays between 10-2pm, especially if you are on a tight schedule! I had been going here for years and then i decided i would try other places.  Needless to say i came back.  It is so hard to find good nail salons in milwaukee but this one is by far the best. They charge $30 for a pedicure while other places in Tosa charge you more for pretty much nothing.  I will definately come back! Read Less

I had an excellent service experience here today! I didn't make an appointment, and didn't have to wait at all to be helped. The nail stylist spent about 2 hours on my mani pedi, and did an incredible job. She was so friendly and professional too! She also brought me magazines and a cup of hot tea while she was doing my toes. While I was there, at least 4 or 5 regulars came in, also a testament to how good the shop is and that people keep coming back. The salon is owned and operated by members of the same family, which I also really liked about it. The prices were affordable as well - the mani pedi is $43, which is competitive for the area. I've been a customer of Nail Design for several years. Staff is pleasant, engaging and attentive. I've recently taken my husband who went kicking and screaming saying that pedis are "girly"! Well, he is so smitten that it is he who reminds me that it's time to get our toes done. We love going to Nail Design and recommend it enthusiastically. Great place! I was turned on to Nail Design by a coworker. She said she only goes to Nail Design so I decided to check it out. As a Tosan who bounces around the Metro area, I'm not tied down to particular businesses (although I certainly have my favorites). I could get my nails done anywhere but now I only go to Nail Design.
