Today me, my sister and mom decided to go get are nails done. Someone recommended this new shop to me 🚮🎎KLC Nails & Spa. 🃏🚮So we decided to give it a try today. We went and the lady told us to come back around 12pm. We had no problem with that because we had other rounds to make. She starts are nails and I can see this lady does a step or two for me then goes to my sister and does a couple steps for her and then goes to my mom and does the same thing. My sister and I are getting gel nails while my mom is getting a pedicure.😒🤨But everyone else in the shop who happens to not look like us has one person attending to them until they are all done. She is also rushing us every time she asks a question about what we want there is a lot of attitude in her tone and body language. A Caucasian lady then comes in the shop and while everyone in the shop is busy the lady already going from me my mother and sister gets the lady started with her pedicure. I then ask her so will u be going back and forth the whole time between me and my sisters full set to my mom and the lady’s pedicures. She says “oh honey it’s okay 1pm you will be done okay?” I say no thanks please remove my nails. She raises her voice at me and tells me she will charge me $20 to take it off (below you can see that a soak off is $12) and also grabs my phone and puts it in her armpit while saying “YOU PAY”! 🤬🤯I tell her ma’am please put my property down and take the nails off. She continues to yell at me about paying and goes lock my phone in a draw where she was doing my nails. I then tell her I never told you I will not pay for my nails I need u to take it off first then I will pay and give me back my property. She grabs a bowl filled with what I’m guessing is acetone and puts it in-front of me and says “take off”. This is after her other colleagues where yelling at her to just take my nails off for me. She then slams my phone back ⬇️⬇️on the table and goes to my sister and does her nails. While she is doing her nails she says to my sister “She cost me more time because taking off nails take longer and I don’t like” My sister says so would you want me to not come back and she says “Well I mean yeah, that’s why I don’t like you people in my shop” 🤭😰She finishes everything (very bad job) then my mom was going to pay her nails and I was going to take care of me and my sisters nails. My mom made this very clear and she goes and charges my mom the whole cost. We leave and go so upset and displeased. My mom later says “Where is my card”? We searched the whole car didn’t find the card, so my mom goes ahead and cancels the card. We call the nail shop to just see if maybe it was there. I had a feeling the whole time the lady purposely kept my moms card because how she treated me and made it seem like I wouldn’t pay for the work she did do. We call and sure enough it is there. My mom goes to pick the card up and it was locked in a draw and the guy took it and gave to my mom. 😑😑🙄 As we are getting ready to leave two other beautiful black ladies came to the shop she says “ you two wait 30 minutes” 😤😭 As real as the air I breathe an older white lady came in after the two ladies, this Asian lady said “ pedicure no wait you pick color” 😵😵😵🤐. My nails always look amazing--I usually get a pink and white overlay with some kind of different or glittery element. This is also one of the very few places in the area where you can get glitter as an overlay. I love overlay nails because I don't like tips and I like how strong overlays are. This place really deserves more than 5 stars, but that's all I'm allowed to give on here. First off, BEAUTIFUL salon. Hands down most beautiful nail salon I've ever been to. Brand new, modern, beautiful lighting. Very reasonably priced too! I had a fill with gel coat, pedicure with gel coat, and a wax and it was just $95. My nails and toes look PERFECT. And the wax lady really knew what she was doing. They have this roller thing that the wax comes out of...I've never seen it before. It's like basically a big ball point pen that wax comes out of and there are different sizes depending on what size area you're waxing. Makes it so you can really easily control where the wax goes. I would not consider this a typical relaxing spa environment - it's a little outdated compared to some and when I went a weekday evening after work (I was able to walk in) for a pedicure, there were kids toys and kids shoes scattered across the floor. This was not a good experience. If I lived in Madison, I wouldn't go back. Heck, if I lived across the street I wouldn't go back. The tech rushed the job. The nail and cuticle trim was a painful experience. She used a pumice stone, but all over the bottom (ouch), not paying attention to where the rough spots were. And unfortunately, I left still with rough heels! The polish was also rushed and a couple of the nails have edges with no polish. On a side note, I think they'd get more business without their kids there running around. One if them threw up right in front of me (I just happened to be looking that way at that moment). Then she went back to running around (darn cute kid though). Later while I was in the dryer, a kid was playing a game on a phone-- it goes without saying the sound was annoying. I go here every two weeks. They are so sweet and accommodating every time.  Best place on the west side for long acrylics. Huge selection of gel polish colors. Bring cash to tip or they have an ATM there if you forget. The collagen socks during the pedis are a really nice addition that not everywhere has. Read Less

Having recently moved here I went here based off of other reviews and would not go back ever again. My manicure was rushed and I have had a mani several times before and never as poorly as this. Normally you get a warm towel and a hand message with lotion neither were done and at the end my hands were beyond dry. During the pedicure they used a metal grater to scrape the bottom of my feet. I had been here and Charlie started with me, then said he had to leave in the middle of it, for some reason and Lee finished. Lee is fantastic! Set an appoinment with her the next time and Charlie set me up with Linda. I explained I asked for Lee, and Charlie just ignored me. I had Linda do my nails and they were awful. I was looking for a new place to get my nails done as I'm newer to the area and have only gotten them done back home. I used Yelp to try and find a decent place that was clean. One thing I liked was I noticed in the pictures they used the bowl liners for pedicures. I decided to give it a shot.They were quick to greet me and get me seated. They adjusted the water temp and things were good. I then noticed each tech uses only one set of tools. They do go in back between clients to hopefully sanitize them, but I'm used to having them individually wrapped after sanitation and then used again. Throughout my pedicure I had to tell her to stop or that it hurt when she was trimming my nails or buffing my feet. Overall, it was very aggressive and painful. While she was very careful and detailed on the Polish, my feet are still sore and she cut a few nails way too far.What was supposed to be a relaxing treat ended up a  very bad experience. I first got my nails done by my sister. It was a great experience. They did exactly what I wanted. Great thought in my mind was to get a pedicure and a full set. I get there and right away I ask can they do a specific design the lady that did the pedicure said yes. The pedicure was fine no issues there. Then time to get the nails done and I asked about the design again she said she would start with a tip and then do the rest. She only did the top and said she was done. I told her that's not like the picture she then told me at that point she couldn't do what I showed her, I told her she should have said that and I would have wanted something different. So I told her I wanted the whole nail polished. She then had an attitude because I said I didn't like what she did. Julie was her name. She slapped the polish on My nails and helped another customer. Once i I got home my nail polish on My toes was smudging so now I have polish on My hands from when the polish wasn't completely dry. It's safe to say I won't be returning. I really do NOT like this place. #1 Staff is rushing and terrible customer service ALWAYS nagging you about paying for more services #2 When doing my nails, she literally had me cringing because of how terribly harsh she was on my nails. My cuticles were literally bleeding and hurt. THEY WERE NOT LIKE THAT BEFORE COMING. And I told her before she started that my nails are thinner so do not file them down too much. She had my nails burning and wasn't listening to what I was saying. Paid NO attention to the hurtful expressions on my face. Never been to a more painful salon than this #3 I got gel fill and literally after I left the salon it looks like within a day or two I'll need another fill. Obviously they don't know what they're doing OR they're trying to file them down so you can come in sooner and waste more of your money on them! End of story I hate this salon and won't be back. About a week ago, I went in for a pedicure. Overall, the experience was pretty average. What I didn't care for was how pushy they were about me coming back for my next shellac manicure. They noticed I had my nails done and asked if I wanted them done in addition to my toes, but I did not. They asked where I went for them and I told them. They spent probably fifteen minutes bashing this other salon. I tried KLC for their good reviews and decent price point. I typically frequent somewhere else which is a bit pricier, but you do get what you pay for, experience wise. The salon had a bit of a funny smell, and a child was watching something loudly on an iPad in the front area. The salon TV was also playing NASCAR... not exactly my cup of tea. My toes looked fine and the actual pedicure itself was perfectly average, though they've already started chipping. I don't intend to return, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. Read Less

Never again. This place was great when Charlie and Lee owned it, but has gone down hill. It's still a great deal for a good pedicure with paraffin wax treatment. But they don't know how to manage their schedule. I scheduled 4 pedicures several days in advance. When we walked, in there were only 3 nail techs working, all of whom were doing manicures. We waited at least 15 minutes until the water got filled, and then it was still slow. My daughter's pedicure started an HOUR after her scheduled time, and the 4 of us were done at very different times. It took over 90 minutes to get us out of there. So disappointing. I would have preferred the staff be honest and tell me they couldn't handle the schedule. Based on what I observed while we were there, at least 4 of the other 5 customers experienced similar issues. Son made me feel so welcomed and took the time to get to know me and my nail preferences during my first visit. I don't usually write reviews but since Yelp is what led me to this business I feel compelled to share my experience. I went in for my birthday and the woman doing my nails was very nice when she found out it was my birthday and said she was going to give me something free. There was a bit of a language barrier but turns out she gave me a flower on each big toe for free so that was nice and she was very sweet. My problems with the services are that the place did not seem the cleanest- I saw the instruments for the pedicure sitting out and I wondered how sanitary it was. I wish I had listened to that instinct but I was desperate to have my nails done and relax for my birthday. The water was too hot when I put my feet in but not a big deal, she adjusted that. However, the paraffin wax was way too hot. I actually looked up paraffin wax burn and it must be rare, but the paraffin actually burned some of the skin off my foot. I didn't notice till I left (or I definitely wouldn't have tipped as much as I did!) but it has been very painful and is taking a while to heal. But even more painful has been what I now believe to be an infection of my cuticle on my fingernail. I may even have to go to the doctor if it doesn't heal soon. She cut my cuticles on a couple different nails to where they were bleeding but one now appears infected.I have never had such a bad experience with being so injured by a nail tech. I will never go back here. I actually wish I had noticed these things that day, I might have asked for a refund. Read Less

I've been to this nail place twice now.  The first time was an invite from a friend.  My friend gets her nails done by the same woman everytime and she does a good job.  I got my nails done by a different woman who wasn't friendly and actually pretty rude.  Her hands were shaky and twice got polish outside the nail.  She got frustrated and jerked my hand telling me not to move.  I thought maybe that was just the person I got. I decided to come back Wednesday,  July 13.  I usually go to TC nails in Fitchburg but because of time and convenience came back here. I came in and asked for chellac.  The initial getting was ok and a man about 40 years old,  I think the new owner,  came to do my nails.  About 5 minutes later,  another customer came in.  The man doing my nails immediately looked to her and knew her name.  She asked how long and he said 7 minutes.  He went on to tell me she was a vip customer and just spoke to her the entire time while doing my nails.  She sat on her phone and timed him. She literally said she was timing him. He rushed through doing my nails and I was done in 25 minutes.  He also asked about where I go to get my nails and I mentioned TC Nails and he went on to bad mouth them. I thought this whole interaction was completely rude and unprofessional. Overall,  I was dissatisfied with yet another bad customer service experience here.  Going to a spa should be friendly,  relaxed and professional.  I will not be returning. Read Less

The gentleman who was doing my pedicure ask right away if I was a runner (maybe he could tell by my feet, or the fact that I came in wearing yoga pants. Either way, he worked me out!
