WORST HAIR APPT EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. I went in a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend to get both of our hair dyed. I wanted to go for a subtle purple balayage and he went for a natural blonde. I had emailed my hair stylist Drew pictures of how I wanted it to turn out the day before and I had looked up how much the price should've been. When I had gone in the next day, I was in there for a total of 5 HOURS which is just rediculous for a hair dye and trim appt. He had messed up the first time he did it, with my naturally dark brown hair turning out with blonde streaks all the way up my head. So he tried to fix it by putting in toner, and although it did help a bit, I was still disappointed, and now 2 weeks later, ALL the purple has washed out in the shower and I am left with disgusting looking blonde/white streaky hair which I am embarrassed about. When I went to pay at the end, they told me the total was TWICE as much as what it had said online. I did not budget for this, so I was furious but didn't want to stay a single minute longer in that place because I was so dissatisfied with what had happened and I had been there for a total of 5 hours. Now with my boyfriends hair, he wanted a natural look, but when he came out of his appt, it was bleach blonde and looked terrible. We had to make him an appt somewhere else that same day because it looked so bad and needed it changed asap. We will NEVER be setting foot in that hair salon again, and I will never recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

I enjoied chatting with Cassie and she was very knowledgeable about different hair care products and strategies. Started to go to this salon because my stylist moved there.  Drew does a great job, with my cut, color and eyebrow/lip waxing.  He always takes his time to make sure he is doing his best to make me look my best.  I always leave feeling pretty, happy and relaxed with the service. He gives me great advise on cut and color.  I have not had a single problem with anything he has done to my hair.  Me eyebrows appreciate the extra attention to detail as well.  As a mom of 3, my visits to Drew are my "me time" and they take excellent care of me here. This weekend was my first and last time to this place. I made and appointment to get my lip, eye brows & chin waxed. I'm not sure if Drew was new but my eyebrows are terrible. So many missing patches and he waxed the same area multiple times on my chin trying to get hairs that weren't to the surface and now my chin is raw and blistered. Read Less

I found this salon through Yelp. I was looking for a talented colorist to lift years of red box dye from my hair, and I wound up choosing Amanda from the Julia Grace Salon based off of the reviews here and her uploads to Instagram. I couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out.When you meet with Amanda for the consultation, she holds your hand and walks you through exactly what the procedure would be to get the results you want. She cares about the outcome being flattering for you and is honest about what will or won't work for your hair type, and she cares about maintaining the health of your hair if possible. Because of that, she doesn't like to use bleach to lift color when avoidable, but that makes for a slower process. She suggested we lift the red that way, over the span of two appointments, and based on the results, it was the right way to go.She's going to be slowly lightening it up to a blonde, and I can't wait. :) I highly recommend the salon and Amanda in particular if you need anything done related to color! I am so glad I was referred to Julia Grace Salon about 1 1/2 years ago. After trying many other salons and hating my haircuts I finally found a place that I have loved my cut each time! I came to Julia Grace Salon with badly damaged hair, with hopes of  making it healthy again. I was paired Tracie who is fantastic. I actually enjoy seeing her just as much as I love my fresh cut hair. She is very friendly, and actually pays attention to your wants/needs. I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair cut and colored at Julia Grace Salon with Kirstin. She was very patient with me and my difficult hair. As a woman in my mid-forties, the blonde & brown combination of my youthful past is getting more and more difficult to duplicate and she managed to accomplish it on the first try! She found the "just right" highlight and lowlight combinations! Granted, she wasn't able to make me young again, but she was able to bring back a feeling of youthfulness. I had the pleasure of going to Julia Grace Salon yesterday for a cut & color with Kirstin. Kirstin was great and very patient with me. As a women in my mid-forties, my hair seems to be getting harder and harder to highlight while also finding the complimentary right low light. I have been so incredibly pleased with all of my services at Julia Grace. Stylist Cassie has been great and I have found myself wearing my hair down so much more often because of her cuts. Love love love this place! The staff is excellent. Their new location has a great atmosphere. I had them do my wedding hair and make up for myself and a few others and it was absolutely fantastic! None of us looked washed out in pictures and our hair held up all day. I now head back every 8-10 weeks for eye brow waxing and I still haven't been disappointed. This was the worst haircut I have Ever had! The woman completely butchered my hair. I had been growing my hair out for a couple of years and didn't want to go any shorter than my clavicle. I just wanted a nice style and maybe a 1inch trim. What I was left with was at least 5 inches shorter and there is a random chunk in the back that is a good 2 inches shorter than the rest of it. It's completely uneven and looks like I was attacked by a weed wacker. When I complained the owner gave me a gift card. I didn't want to get another hair service there, but I figured I could use it to get my nails done. I figured since I had a $40 gift card I should be able to get acrylics. When I went to book the appointment I found out that acrylics there are around $80! I talked to the owner again and asked to just have my money refunded since they didn't have any other services that I could afford or would want and she refused. I absolutely love the haircuts I get from Kirstin! I moved to Massachusetts two years ago and I wait until I come back to Wisconsin to get my hair done ( 2-3 times a year.). I've tried to find someone in MA to cut my hair but I'm just not happy with the cut I get. When coming back to WI, I make my plane reservations then make an appointment with Kirstin at Julia Grace salon. I have it cut a little shorter than I normally would so the cut will last until I get back to WI. Although it does get a little long, the style still looks great. Kirstin is a master. Read Less

After going to Julia Grace, I now have the worst hair cut I've ever had in my life so far. It is a very unflattering look for my bonestructure. The stylist didn't listen to what I wanted; I asked for only a little cut off and now my hair is 2 inches shorter. I was talked into layers that turned out choppy (the top layer being wayyy too short) and then they also thinned my hair (which i did not ask for) and the combination of both completely flattened it. I used to have thick beautiful hair, and now it looks alot like a mullet.There is nothing i can do style wise that I can actually feel confident in, and it was definately not worth the price.
