I would give zero stars if possible. My first and ONLY visit was last week for a pedicure. My appointment was over in less than 30 minutes. I went in today to get a dip set. It was my 2nd time coming here and this time the lady said it would be an extra $15 dollars to get stilettos. The first time I came I had gotten the same thing, but it was only $5 more... after explaining this to her she proceeded to tell me how I was wrong and that if I had a problem with it that I could talk to the owner.. I went in to get my nails done for my engagement pictures... I ran out of the building crying because of how disrespect...ful and unprofessional she was. As I was outside the owner proceeded to go to my friend and asked if I could get my nails done a different day since I was emotional... not even asking what happend.. I went threw 4 tech's before someone was willing to work with me... needless to say I'm not getting engagement pictures done. Will not be returning to Diamond Nails. The last two times I have gone in and got my nails dipped and both times I have broken a nail within a few days! For $40 I feel they should last longer than 4 days! This last time I went in, I picked my colors and the lady grabbed the wrong color. She had dipped all my nails before I had really noticed as I was foolishly watching TV and not paying much attention. I told her that was not the color I had chose. So she just dipped over the wrong color, which I thought would be fine. However, you can see both colors all around the edges. They look horrible. :( Read Less

The staff, prices, customer service, and attention to detail is wonderful! I've been here a handful of times and my nails have turned out great! The one time it wasn't up to snuff I came back after a week and a half because the polish had all come off (first time every happening) and they were SO fast to do a polish change and make everything right. You can't expect a business to be perfect 100% of the time but being amazing 9 times out of 10 and being more than willing to fix something if it isn't perfect is all anyone can ask for. THANK YOU! This is my go to for pedicures. The owner Dan remembers me every time I come in, and he takes the time to come say hello and ask how things are going. They always do a great job, it’s a clean environment, nice massage chairs, free water or a glass of wine! I LOVE Diamond Nails! I moved here last summer from Boston and this was the first (and last) salon I tried. They are appointments based, which is great because I never have to wait and can easily plan my nail appointments into my schedule or even fit into my lunch break. When I have appointments with friends they always ensure we are sitting next to each other which is another plus you don't see everywhere. This is the best nail experience I've had in Madison. We had a reservation for 8 people on a busy Friday, and the time got mixed up: unclear whether it was us or them. Didn't matter: even though we all got there an hour before the time they had on the books, they broke out the wine as we sat outside, and were able to get us in within less than 15 minutes. The service and quality were excellent for all of us. They let us all sit together, and let us sit and chat in the pedi chairs well past the time it took for our nails to dry. I have been going to Diamond Nails for about a year and a half now. They always do an amazing job and have great service and great prices! I chipped a nail once and they fixed it for free the next day. I took my wedding party there to get our nails done and everyone continues to receive complaints! My daughter and I got our shellac done here on Saturday. It took the lady more than an hour to finish my nails. She cut my cuticle too deep, and it's so painful now. The color started to peel off on Monday morning because she paint it all over my cuticle. I won't comeback this place.Read Less

It doesn't deserve 1 star. I came in Sat for their Pedicure & Manicure. The lady was not happy to take me in. She keep telling me to get the shellac manicure. I have always had really good experiences at Diamond Nail & Spa in the past. The owners are nice, the staff does a great job and I've always been completely happy with my nails. Whenever I am in madison I always go there, however, today I had an unsettling experience that left a really bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to add tips and the dip nail service and didn't know they only schedule 45 mins to do this. I would think an hour is more doable especially if customers want to do designs. Anyways, the lady doing my nails did a good job shaping and coloring overall. However, when it came it designs I initially wanted to do mermaid scales and it didn't turn out good so I was undecided on what I wanted to do and she suggested to do sparkle ombré at the tip of my nails. I said sure and she started the process but the ombré did not turn out good so I stopped her and decided not to do designs anymore. At this point my lady's other scheduled customer left because she couldn't wait anymore. Later the owner said to me that because I kept "changing my mind [her] the lady's customer left." I froze in my tracks feeling a bit salty at this point for a few reasons:1. I told him I am a paying customer and if I am not happy with the designs I am not going to just pay for it and leave just so his other customer can have a turn. I am using my money to pay for their service and I would like to leave feeling happy about my nails not shitty (which was exactly how I felt leaving today).2. It's not my fault that the other customer left, maybe they should change the time to an hour instead of 45 mins. Instead of trying to cram everyone in and doing a mediocre job, they should focus on customer satisfactory and quality.  3. Lastly, it's just rude and inappropriate to tell a paying customer that because of them the business lost a customer. I believe that would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth, being blamed for their shortcomings. I would love to come back but unfortunately I wouldn't due to this experience and the owner making me feel so belittled and unvalued as a customer. Read Less

I am literally nauseous right now. First of all, the male who did my nails looked like he hadn't washed his hand for 3 days. His nails were long, chipped, and covered in dirt and GOD KNOWS what else. Secondly, there is no way they cleaned their instruments after every manicure. I could see nail dust on the the grinder from the previous person. NOTHING was autoclaved. Thirdly, my Shellac nails are uneven, bubbly, and there is even a HAIR IN THE NAIL POLISH! I can't even get it out! Lastly, the "massage" I got after my nails were dry, was gross and disturbing. The guy CRACKED HIS KNUCKLES USING THE PALM OF MY HAND!! Oh! And! the lady who did my sister's nails was super sassy, rude, and groaned at my sister's requests. There were plenty of other gross and awkward events at this appointment, but I need to go get some fresh air before I throw up. I am seriously disgusted and disappointed with my care, not worth $30. First, the pro's: I was able to get in for an appointment within 45 minutes of calling. The woman who did my pedicure was nice - She let me relax instead of talking my ear off, like many nail techs do. The foot / leg massage was great, although I wish it would have been longer.The con's: My toenails are very uneven. I honestly feel like I could have done a better job myself. The nail polish was applied, mostly on the nail, but also on the skin around the nail. At the end of the pedicure, I was given two baggies that had liquid in it and no instruction as to what to do with them? - I'd never been given bags to put my feet in before putting my shoes on, so I had to ask to clarify what they were for exactly. Also, the place just seems grungy - Not aesthetically pleasing...I'm surprised this place was voted one of the best in Madison. I am never disappointed with the service here! They seem to always remember me by name, even though I'm exactly a regular. I have learned the hard way that you need to make an appointment. They do an overall good job whenever I go in. However, they are way more focused on their regulars than all of the other customers in the store. They will talk to the regular customer sitting next to you while they do your nails, which makes it feel like they're doing a chore for you. They also blame nail breakage on how long your acrylics are, and are stubborn/upset about repairing nails that break before two weeks. Sometimes I end up sitting in the chair for close to two hours for a full set of acrylics with shellac polish, which is way too long for me. If you choose to go, watch closely while they apply the nails because they tend to glue them on crooked and/or shape the nails so they don't match or not what you asked for. Read Less

I really like it here! My pedicure lasted three weeks and the only reason I came back was because it had grown out. Today I tried to get the hot stone massage pedicure but we switched it to a regular pedicure half way through because the wax was way too hot for me. I went here to get a French nail gel for my cousins wedding and a pedicure. Omg what a NIGHTMARE. First of all, the guy did not speak a lick of English. I understand you are foreign no big deal but how can you do services and not know what I am asking!!! Second,  the guy over cured my nails like crazy!! 3 to 4 times!!! It was insane. My nails were RUINED when I tried to get the gel off. My nails were SORE and it took over a month of no polish to recover. That is NOT how gel should be doneTHEN because he could not speak English at all, I did not understand what this drying device was that he wanted me to put my feet in to dry my toes. He ended up ramming it into my wet nails. Instead of starting over on those nails he just put more paint on them. They were thick and gunky and looked awful! The pedicures were $30, and came with a long soak, some great products, and a long-lasting finish. Plus, we got to drink wine and stay quite a while! I went to Diamond Nails for a pedicure and acrylic nails for an upcoming birthday celebration. I was charged $80 before tip as my total for the full pedicure ($30) and the full set of acrylic nails ($50). I used to be nuts about nails back during college and got acrylics and fills every few weeks. I remember dropping $40 or so before tip for a full set and a pedicure. The $80 at Diamond Nails is just exorbitant! (Have nail salons really raised their prices dramatically within the past 5-10 years?)The polish on my toes did not last long at all. Two days after getting my nails done, I wore pumps for about 3-4 hours, and when I took them off, the polish had chipped or rubbed off of about half of my toenails. And during the first week after getting the acrylics, about a handful started showing signs of lifting.Sure, my nails looked good, and I left Diamond Nails happy with what I saw on my hands and feet. But I have no idea why the prices were so high. I also don't know why the polish and acrylics were such low quality and showed signs of wear and tear within a few days after visiting Diamond Nails.I won't go back. Read Less

I love this place! My roommate and I called to see if they had any available times for the same day and they had two free ones in 2 hours. We got there about 10 minutes early and seated us right away to soak our feet. It was really busy at the time, but someone got to us quick. We were able to choose between water or wine when we sat down (not sure if you had to pay for wine) and we got water. After some time, someone came to help us both. They removed polish, dead skin, cut the nails, and made them all clean :) they also did a scrub and massaged my feet and calves for a bit. On a whim on a Friday afternoon, I stopped by Diamond Nails & Spa for a mani/pedi. This was over a week ago, as I wanted to see how my mani/pedi would hold up after a week. I am happy to report I was very pleased with how my manicure/pedicure looks after a week.They graciously arranged for me to have my services without an appointment, and I was prepared to wait awhile. But they almost saw to me right away (big plus in my book). Next time, though, I will be making an appointment and remember to have some open-toe sandals with me, so I don't screw up my newly polished toenails (or put them out by not having an appointment.) Just as some of my fellow reviewers mentioned, they prefer if you pay in cash.The decor makes DN&S a very relaxing place to have a manicure, with the water trickling in the background to make it extra soothing. I watched a couple get pedicures across from me, and the gentleman was enjoy his pedi and glass of white wine. He looked relaxed and happy, as did everyone in the place. All my work was done professionally and quickly, compared to some places. They had an extensive selection of nail colors in which to choose from, and had a steady stream of clients coming through the door. True it was a Friday, but with all the nail salons in town offering similar services at the same price, they must be doing something right by having so many customers. Read Less
