Salon East is a gem for the small town of Hartford. I drove by so many times before I realized it was a full service salon. First time there was for a manicure with Bridget, she turned my nails from frumpy to making me feel like a lady. The free hand designs she adds are very creative and the hand massage is a great bonus. Her welcoming smile and personality made me want to return. My next visit was for a massage with Kim. She made me feel comfortable from the minute I met her. She has a calming demener that melts away the stress. My full body massage left me feeling like I was on cloud nine. I now schedule a 30 minute massage every 3 eeeks. My 3rd service at Salon East was with Denise for a "new" hair style and highlights. Denise listened to me when I described the cut I was looking for and the results were spot on. My cut and highlight results made me realize that Salon East is "my" salon going forward they are friendly, professional and the gem of salons in Hartford. Read Less

I've been here for multiple services and like a previous reviewer stated if I could rate Kim the massage therapist separate from the salon she would get 5++ stars. She's great! However in my honest opinion there are other parts of the salon that aren't so great. I've been here two separate times with two different stylists for hair appointments. Both times I have been disappointed. The first time I wanted to get an all over brown color. The stylist was also working with another client, taking turns working on my hair and the other clients hair. I think when she put my color on she forgot about me, because I sat there for over an hour with color on my head! She was super rough when brushing my hair out. I think I was there for over 3 hours for something that should have only taken like an hour and a half or two at the most. I told myself I wouldn't go back for hair services anymore but I decided to give them another try but with another stylist. I wish I wouldn't have! I went in to get all over highlights and I'm not sure what she did but they were not blended at all! There were chunks of super light pieces at the scalp where my outgrowth was and then it changed to a darker color the farther down the strand you got. I wish I would have kept the pictures I took. I even had family and friends asking me what happened and told me it looked cheap. I couldn't and wouldn't go back a third time and spend another $100 to have them fix it, so I ended up going to the wonderful Edge Salon in Mayville, another Aveda salon and they fixed it for me for half the cost. After my experiences I can't recommend this salon for anything other than massages. Like I said, Kim the massage therapist is wonderful! Read Less

I have yet to leave Salon East disappointed. From all the different types of services I have had done, from cut and color to bridal styling to eyelash extensions, I would rate each 5 stars! The eyelash services are VERY affordable and well worth it, they were put on with care and lasted a long time. McKenna did a great job of answering any questions I had. The best salon around. What I like about the people there is how professional and knowledgeable they are. They are always taking classes to stay on top of the latest trends and products. Sara S our stylist at Salon East is amazing. At the start of the summer; Sara used my daughters ideas on how to color her hair and turned them into such a beautifully fun but tasteful work of art! Salon East offers exceptional service to it's customers! If I could I would give them 10 stars. I will never go anywhere else. Every staff member is phenomenal and makes you feel amazing! Once you walk through the door you are greeted by the staff, offered something to drink, and informed of when the staff is available for your service. While receiving your service the staff always makes sure you are comfortable. Salon East is always very clean and organized, I just love the way they decorated. The owner should be extremely proud of their business! I travel 40 minutes to the salon and it's completely worth it! I recommend Salon East to everyone I meet! Customer for life :) Read Less
