This is my go-to nail salon, mainly because they have the nicest staff around! They give the best pedicures- my feet always leave feeling pampered and refreshed. The hot stone massage is my favorite part. They always take good care of my nails, and my latest pedicure is lasting for the last month and a half! I came here because my usual spot was booked and I was in desperate need of a pedicure. This was the most thorough, enjoyable pedicure I have ever had. It was a better paint job than the full service salons/day spas I have been to in town, and a better massage/pampering than your typical nail salon. Their deluxe pedicure is only $35 and included trimming, exfoliating scrub, hot stone massage, regular lotion massage, and parafin. I wish 4.5 stars was an option because my only area for improvement is the ambiance. It's certainly a clean nail salon with bright lighting and plenty of stations, but the massage chairs seemed a little older and not quite as nice as other salons I have been to. I have been here maybe 2-3 times and I have absolutely no complaints. The work is always thorough and the nail technicians actually listen when you give them specific instructions. I got shellac for the first time on my most recent trip and it is now about 1 week and 5 days no chips (I usually chip after 5-6 days no matter where I go). They are not the most expensive but they are also not the least expensive but I can say that the work fits the bill. Also, appts. are not required but it is difficult to be seen without one as they are usually always crowded during the times I have gone (weekdays after work and Saturday afternoon). Read Less

I wouldn't even give this 1 star. The guy doing my nails kept leaving every 2 minutes to go be on his phone (no exaggeration at all) and was texting WHILE doing my nails! It was absolutely ridiculous. When I finally said something, he was very rude back. The place is very unsanitary too. Don't waste your time or $$ at this place!! Read Less

Saw the good reviews on the internet and decided to give them a try. I arrived about 2:55 PM and they were not friendly they told me that they were closing early after the website says they're open till 4:00 pm. The short guy said "yeah but it's Father's Day so we are closing". so I walked out I would not recommend this place, they are not friendly, they did not want to honor their hours that they have posted on Sundays and I think that both of the men I spoke to were liars. Why is it so difficult to find a good nail salon in Madison??I have been to Star Nails many times.  Every time, I get over charged, or the quality is crap.  I was there 1 week ago.  The nail tech was angry because I didn't want shellac or gel.  I just wanted pink and white acrylic nails.  The acrylic is now chipping off after 1 week.  She put so little product on my nails, its cracking and falling off.  My nails look like crap. My sister and I were stereotyped and deemed as your stereotypical black women from the time we walked in.. And funny thing is the women who was talking to us was the one who disrespectful and classless!!!! She rolled her neck and spoke in a VERY condescending tone thee entire time she spoke with us... The face that she thought that I was a ghetto black woman and not ones with degrees and MONEY to spend is mind blowing to me... This will not be the last time they hear from m...e!! I will file a complaint with the Better Business Better Bureau come Monday. It's a shame that in 2016 I had to be treated with no dignity and respect.. Love this place!!! Been here twice now and for the price of a pedicure here you get so much extra stuff that I have never gotten at any other place and the people are really nice and they lasted about a month. Much longer than I expected. Will definitely continue to come back here. Read Less
