This was my first visit to La Vie and I loved it. we were offered a drink right away and my daughter and I got the La Vie pedicure. The girl who did my pedicure was Ivy my daughter had Jimmy. I have gone to this salon now two times. There are some things I really enjoy about the salon and things I do not. I will start with the good. I like that they always use clean tools, they open up the new tools right in front of you, so you know they have not been used on anyone else. I scheduled appointments Online for my niece and myself for Pedicure and Manicure Shellac or Gel ...? on Saturday in September so we arrived 20 minutes late - my fault entirely. The staff at La Vie Nails & Spa were amazing - both ladies worked at full speed to get our Pedicures and Manicures done so Amazing. They gave us exactly what we asked for. Every time I get my nails done somewhere else, I regret it and wish I had gone to La Vie. It's consistently an excellent job and you can tell the nail techs go the extra mile to make sure the service is done well. I went to La Vie because the one I usually go in Brookfield closed and this one apparently has good ratings I don't agree. I booked an appointment today at 5:30pm. They did give me a call for running late. My pedicure didn't start until 6pm. I told my nail tech not to cut my nails. She did. I told her many times I'm ticklish on the bottom of my feet and she didn't have to do anything to them. She did. I am Asian and she asked me where I was from. I went to get a fill done and was recommended by my coworker to see Michelle! Let's just say I did not regret having her do my nails. She listened to how I wanted them to look and she did just that! She is Awesome! She even repaired my nails and gave me suggestions on avoiding air bubbles that can form underneath my fill. She was so friendly and courteous. I called at 5 p.m. today and was able to make a 5:30 appointment for a gel manicure. My nail technician, Michelle, helped me choose a Kiara Sky color and accent color that look beautiful together. She was very friendly, asked me if I wanted anything to drink and when my water was nearly empty, she offered to get more. I was asked to come back because they were super busy, when I did they had the best disposition. It was super close to closing time on a Sunday (4:15 and they close at 5) I asked if I could get a fast manicure and since I had to wait at least 15 minutes to get the shellac off I asked if I could get a fast pedicure. They said sure! Person helping me ended up talking me into deluxe pedicure which took longer. And then they still did my manicure. They were there well past the closing time. I felt really bad!!! Went in for a pedicure and gel manicure - the pedicure average, no better/worse than other pedicures I have received, so no complaints. The gel manicure, however, was the worst I've ever had. She cut 2 of my cuticles too short and bled everywhere. The base layer was caked on so think and sloppy that it was under my nails and on my skin, and when I asked her to fix it, she said she'd fix it after she was all finished with my nails. The point of gel is that is hardens under... the light so it is VERY important that anything on the skin is removed before it is cured - anyone dong nails professionally knows this. When she was finished, she told me it would simply wash off (which is not how gel works!) This was also less than 1 week ago and the gel is lifting on the side of 6/10 fingers because it was so sloppy. I even complained and was given no discount or apology. Not worth the money. I can't say enough good things about this salon! They are incredibly nice, and the salon is so clean! They use bags in the pedicure chairs to make sure everything is clean! Had a design done on my nails and it looks better than the picture I showed her! They also have two kid pedicure chairs which are absolutely adorable!
