I'm convinced they talk behind peoples back in their own language. They talk to each other while doing their work and half the time it's not good when you complain Tony's husband gets mad. I seriously do not get attention and they rushed through and their unsanitary I never see them clean their tools or sanitizing anything. They don't engage in conversation with customer, yet constantly engaging with staff in their own language. They do have a walk-in policy ,which has been nice they do get you in right away. My biggest complaint. I have made about 6 walk-in visits ,not one time do I see them using a sanitizer on their tools or using a cleaning method between customers. This last visit the man in charge filed my nails with a dremmel type tool and wasn't paying attention and nicked my skin on my pinky finger, now I have a skin infection , causing me a lot of pain and a visit to urgent care for antibiotic's. I feel they aren't meeting standards for the public's safety, as well as they tried twice to charge me more than the price I always pay, even though I tip them extra .. won't be going back thier ,not worth the skin infection .!! I've been going here for awhile now and would always leave very happy with my nails. Except for today.... I came in for a full set and none are the same length or width with the other hand, they are lumpy and most were not filed correctly. So one side is higher then the other on the same nail. I don't know if the lady that worked on me is just new, But when I bought it to her attention she stated they were "the same and fine" she did file them but at that point, it made my coffin shape into a round tip. I really find that I get an excellent maincure here. I enjoying working with my manicurist Toni. She is helpful and offers great suggestions when asked, but is otherwise not too chatty. This is perfect for me. The manicures here last a full two weeks. I will put up a picture toward the end of its useful life so you can be the judge. I get a full manicure. She is very attentive to cuticle trimming. My hands always look very well groomed. They have a huge selection of gel polish colors. I'm very happy here. The prices are good too. Read Less

**READ THIS** This is by far the worst nail job I have EVER had. And I had some terrible nails jobs people. I came in at not a busy time for gel color. It was me and another person there. I chose my color and told the lady who was working on my nails that she can’t sand them down too much, they are too thin (and small). She messed up on my finger and kept wiping it off to repaint it. ***SHE USED CLIPPERS THAT WEREN'T SANITIZED OR NEW** I should have got up and left then. Long story short - the paint job was awful, look at the photos (on yelp) That’s AFTER THEY FIXED IT. TWICE!!!! The first time I asked her to fix it and remove some of the extra polish she simply clipped it off along with my skin. !!!!! When I asked them (at this point the rude guy takes over my hand) to fix it second time, at least remove the extra gel off my fingers, the male, based on other reviews I assume it was Kenny... or maybe not who knows. He said that I have too much cuticle (in reality the tech couldn’t handle painting around my nail and got lazy and went into the cuticle) and that my nails are too small. He said I WONT GET IT DONE BETTER ANYWHERE ELSE and when I replied that I had done it actually correct before he said I SHOULD GO BACK THERE. (And I would if it wasn’t a friend instead of a salon lol) RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL. ABSOLUTELY CANNOT. PAINT. NAILS. I have been going to this salon for over 20 years. Today I was humiliated and embarrassed by the owner Kenny....Last week when I needed a polish change and I called to see if they were busy he said that they were too busy and I said OK and out of frustration , to myself not to him I said a cuss word , but it was not in anyway shape or form directed toward him.Today when I went in he said I always complain when I come in and he was rude, hurt my feelings and made me cry. I apologized profusely and said to him nothing I said was directed toward him and I was sorry that he took it that way. I am not going there any longer because now I know how he really feels about me and I do wonder now if in their own language they're talking about me behind my back. I was always happy with the service and with the women who did my manicures said this review saddens me.I would never write a review like this if it weren't 100% true and accurate.One other thing Kenny did. This place is great got me in last minute for nails after work when I had a wedding the next day. I asked for matte black nails which looked great. The only downfall is I asked for Coffin shaped long nails and they weren't. But since it was last minute I can't really complain plus not my regular salon. Our experience at Blow Blow Dry Bar was amazing. We needed to get my 6 year old's hair done for pictures. They made her feel so special. They played Disney songs on the radio and even sang along with her while doing her hair. I showed them a picture of the style needed and Kasey exceeded all expectations. We had so many compliments. I have had many great experiences at this place. Tbh, I didn't expect much given the location but was blown away by the attentive staff. Got a pedicure and a powder dip manicure and both turned out great and lasted forever. LOVE that they use plastic liners in the pedicure tubs, feels so much cleaner. I had to cheat on my normal nail person today.  She doesn't work Sunday or Monday and I had 2 broken nails and NEEDED a fill. Q nails is close to my home so I took the plunge and decided to give them a try. Jason blew me away! He was quick and efficient and I LOVE my nails. I showed him a couple images of what I wanted and he delivered just that! My fiancé and I are getting engagement photos done and our colors are navy and burgundy and we are having a nautical theme. I went to this nail salon after talking to a co-worker that raved about it. She said they do a great job and have lower prices which really turned me on to the idea of finding a new place to go. I went in and was taken back right away, which is awesome. I like to be able to have some sort of conversation with the person doing my nails, but I wasn't even spoken to the entire half hour I was sitting there. Although she was speaking to her co-workers the whole time. I felt pretty ignored. I got just a standard shellac manicure and was not impressed by the lack of attention she gave to my cuticles. I'm used to having a sort of small hand massage to work in oil or lotion, but there was nothing. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the price, and the availability to be seen. FANTASTIC nails! They offer dipping powder which seems to be hard to come by. Especially in Vancouver! Looks can be deceiving w/ this place. Inside and outside. This place is sandwiched btwn a oil change shop and a qwiki mart. Doesn't look like much. Really doesn't look like much when you walk in either. The work they do though is phenomenal! I've been back multiple times. It's also nice to see a mix of men and women working on peoples nails. The prices are extremely reasonable. I've tried 4 salons since moving to Portland. This location was the only place that got it right every time! I'll be back again. Would love to see them reno the interior of this place. Will create a buzz and draw a lot more customers. I've been going to Q Nails since they were on Mlk Blvd in Portland Oregon. These people are the nicest most professional people. They've gone outta there way to make sure I was happy with nails and toes. Lastnight while I'm in shop. Someone called saying.. Her nails had fallen off! 😕 Come on lady.. Anyone who's gotten acrylic nails knows.. They most definitely will not just fall off!! Still, Ken was So patient and understanding and said he would be more than happy to fix her nails for her. She kept insisting that it was something defective and the nails just fell off n was rude and disrespectful. I applaud how he handled the caller. Know that Q Nails stands by their work. Me and one of my bridesmaids went and got a full set of acrylic's done the day before my wedding. Worst set of nails I have ever had. The top coat dried weird and crackly. By the end of the first week they looked like it was time for a fill. Most places you don't need a fill until the end of the second week. Such a cute place. I had my hair and makeup done here for my wedding, along with all my bridesmaids. It was such a fun atmosphere to get ready in and they did a great job. And the pricing isn't bad at all! Izzy did my hair and it turned out beautifully! All of the stylists were so sweet and professional. I'll definitely be returning for future events I go to. Not going back. I made an appointment with Jason because after looking at yelp pictures he seemed to do most of the acrylics. When I got there he was finishing up with another client so this other guy who works there said he was going to start my nails to get me ready for Jason.He glues on the tips and then sloppily shapes them to the style I want which is the coffin shape.  As he clips them he clips off skin on 2 of my fingers and he also clipped it super crooked. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be super picky so I went a long with it. When I get to Jason I notice my fingers are bleeding on the sides where that sloppy guy chopped my skin off. Jason is really nice and makes good conversation BUT..over all my nails looked sloppy. The nail polish was so thin that when my nails were in certain lighting you could see the sloppy paint job except I had one nail that was painted solid somehow lol and they are pretty far from my cuticles already. They didn't do any cuticle prepping to make sure it would look natural. Btw my two fingers are still sore and have scabs now thanks to sloppy guy who cut my nails. Read Less
