So, I got curly hair. And I get a fade on the sides. So i try to get a haircut from here, And i used to go here for 12 years because my mom brought me here for the low prices. and every time I have hated the haircut, and sure as a kid you never like haircuts, but I am a teen now, i go to different barber shops, and I love what they do, then my mom says she can pay for my next haircut if i go to this place. So i go, I ask for a 1 to 2 fade, and for a trim on the top, my hair was long before I got this haircut, THEN THEY UNEVENLY CUT MY HAIR, THE SIDES WERE MESSED UP AND THEY MISSED SOME PARTS SO I STILL HAVE MY LONGER HAIR ON IT WHICH LOOKS RIDICULOUS, THEN THEY TRIM THE TOP, CURVED MY HAIR, MISSED THE LEFT SIDE SO NOW ITS ALL UNEVEN AND IM SCREWED FOR THE NEXT 8 WEEKS CUZ I DON'T WANT TO GO ANY SHORTER. that was my last chance, sorry guys, (I did ask them to fix it, they said nothing was wrong with it, but I could tell they just didn't want to do it) Read Less

The only disappointing thing with them is we can make an appt but one of us will still have to wait up to a 1/2hr because they took on something else b4 our appt, i can except 5 mins or so but thats why we make appts iinstead of walking in Read Less

I've been going to this place since Sept 2012 for haircuts and tanning. My kids got their haircuts there a few times because the prices were pretty low.The young men working the counter in the first few years, both sons of owner, were always friendly and attentive - just really nice guys. Sadly for us, they are no longer there. The owner was a bit cold in the beginning but I thought if I smiled more and tried to be friendlier, she would warm up and she did. She always did a great job with my trims. However, experiences there with the salon workers in general is another story and it has become noticeably worse. Almost every time we came in to tan, if the counter guys are not there, the ladies act like they're bothered and upset. We try to smile, thank them, and speak in a kind tone but, nope, they just don't liked to be "bothered". Tonight, though, was my final straw. The cut off time to come in and tan use to be 6:45pm but was changed to 6:30pm. I admit I walked in at 6:31 but I wasn't going to do the full allotted time I could use - which is 20 minutes. I could see the staff was cleaning up and there were no visible customers there. This is usually a red flag because in my experience, they try to close early when no one is getting their nails or hair done. Tanning customers are still paying customers though. When I was asked how long I wanted to go, I answered 18 minutes. The first girl attending me asked, "Can you do 15?" And I having had some experience with their behavior before simply said,"No, I would like to do 18." She quickly walked away, spoke with another worker, and then that gal came up front and angrily told me, "You can't do more than 18 minutes" which made no sense because I can't set the timer anyway. I reminded her that the cut off time to come in and tan is 6:30pm and that I wasn't going to cut myself short because they want to leave early. I went to tan. By the time I came back out to the lobby, the lights were off, two employees were standing in the lobby with their coats on and the gal who told me I "couldn't do more than 18 minutes" was sitting in her suburban with her engine and lights on. I looked at the clock, which read 6:55, then looked at the young man - a newer employee - who apologized to me. I was right, he knew it, and the end result is that I am never going back. From others I have spoken with, my experience is not unique. Too bad. It went from a fairly good experience to a bad one. I still wish the owner well but that staff... well...you know. Read Less

Ive been going here for a little over 2 years, and I cannot express how fantastically fabulous this shop is. You can get your nails, toes, waxing of all kinds, tanning, haircuts, color, and styled. The salon is clean and nicely decorated. My pedicure was great till I got home, my feet and legs started to swell and turn bright red. I had a chemical reaction to whatever was put on my legs. I have been getting pedicures for years and this is the first time I reacted. After my pedicure I did get a Quick polish change which was sloppy, gel polish all over my skin and the clear coat has bubbles on every other nail. I wish I can upload pictures. Read Less

The service was terrible. Waited an hour for a appointment we made. My moms pedicure was awful. They didn't buff her calluses off and the polish was smudged on her toes. My nails looked like they already needed a fill right after i got them done. When i told the nail tech that they should call people to tell them to come in later when they are busy she just laughed. I've come here before for nails and hair. The wait is not very long and the work done is fast and efficient. However, their customer service is not the best and that's where I was struggling between the 2 and the 3 stars.  Recently I've went here and was asked what service I want and then told "ok..sit" and then waited - no smile (I am a paying customer). I have a new nail place! Lovely atmosphere, genuinely nice people who really go the extra mile and top quality work! I've never seen cuter nail work this side of Pinterest!!!! You see it, they can do it! Ask for Kim if you want something fancy, although everyone does great work. You can also have a mimosa while you get pampered. I've been going to Beyond Beauty for my acrylics for over a year now and I always leave happy. I go to Van and she always does a great job and makes sure I leave happy and satisfied. I have been going to this salon for 2-3 years now and I usually get shellac although I have gotten two pedicures there and know others who have as well.  They also do hair, waxing and tanning but I've never used those services. The people are nice--I think.  Someone is always prompt with acknowledging you when you walk in the door.  Sometimes there's a bit of a wait before getting to see someone but not usually.  When I bring in my mom they recognize her and ask how she's doing.  They are always accomodating to get me in, once staying open past their usual close because I had to get my nails done before a trip and I'd arrived to the salon late.   The salon overall is a large space so that's nice because the chemical smell from the nail products is usually pretty good--it's still there but usually not overpowering like it can be in smaller salons.They have approximately 5 or 6 massage pedi chairs for adults and two kid ones with DVD players. Like I mentioned before I've only had 2 pedi's there so the first time the chair was fine but the second time I was in a different chair and it's massage function was broken. Also, the water for both experiences was lukewarm at best.  My final "complaint" is that sometimes they don't have enough toe dividers so they have once used scrunched up paper towels in between my toes--which is functional but not "classy."  However the rest of my pedi experiences was good--they do a good job with the actual pedi and the next time I want to treat myself to a pedi I will go back to them I'm sure.As for the manicures...overall I like my manicures here.  I get shellac and usually they last for about 3 weeks.  Lately I've noticed they aren't holding up as well though so I wonder if they've changed to an inferior product.  Most of the time I like the shape, etc...some of them need more coaching then others.  I have been cut a little to close once when a manicurist was overly enthusiastic about my cuticles.    A previous reviewer mentioned something about banned substances but I don't get acrylics or solar nails so I can't comment on that.Overall I like Beyond Beauty and will keep going there for my manicures and pedicures. Do not go here for Acrylic or Solar nails! They used a banned substance on my nails called MMA. This stuff is bad news. It is banned for use on nails by the FDA. They only use it because it is soooo cheap to buy compared to the products a tech is supposed to buy. But, it does ruin your nails - sometimes permanently, it can cause serious health problems, and its nearly impossible to remove by soaking alone. It would take at least two, maybe three hours for it to even get a bit soft. If this is what you have, then you need to go to a reputable salon, with highly experienced techs, and have them filed off. I did not know this and I went back to Beyond Beauty and they simply used nippers and pryed them off, ruining my natural nails in the process and caused me a lot of pain too.
