I have been there a total of 4 times and they have been very gentle and helpful with getting my nails back to normal after having done acrylics. Now my natural nails can look as nice as acrylics. This is THE best place to get your nails done in Tacoma! The prices may be a bit higher than other nail salons but that's because they are so much better than any other competitor. Very nice nail salon, high quality work. Just be aware that its a waterless/eco friendly salon so they do not have foot baths. They offer regular polish or gel polish (no acrylic fake nails here) they specialize in healthy nail procedures and do a wonderful job. I had a great experience today at Charme Nail Studio! I was my first time visiting and Thaly did a great job. I will definitely be back. There are a TON of colors to choose from. I love that they do natural nails only and that everything is so clean. There aren't any strong chemical smells and I don't have to worry about infections because it's spotless here. My only tip would be to come 15-20 minutes early because parking is rough. I budgeted an extra 10 minutes to find a spot and it wasn't enough haha! The cute dogs are a nice bonus. Read Less

I was excited to check this place out since I received a gift certificate for my birthday. I don't generally like getting manicures, but I was not disappointed! Charme Nail Studio is cute and charming. ;)Upon arrival, my friend and I were asked if we would like a warm neck pillow. Heck yes! I set up an appointment for the Nail Rescue treatment since I pick my nails a lot. My friend came initially for a quick IBX nail treatment. They were gracious enough to let her do the Bijou manicure as well since time permitted.Rachel was very kind and explained all that she was doing with the IBX treatment. By the way, the warm cuticle remover felt divine. I felt everything done was meticulous and gentle (not rough and hurried like other places). Over all, my nails look awesome. My husband and I went for a pedi for him and a Manicure for me. I was impressed by the smell... Most places use a lot of harsh chemicals, which turn me off of the process. However, they even use their own lovely blend for massage which was amazing. They had two cute pups to keep you company while getting services done.I did not give a 5 because I wasn't 100% sure about some of the cleanliness. I wasn't dissatisfied with the service given me, but I noticed bits of other nail polish on my  estheticians tray, and wasn't sure if the file was new... Although she did offer it to me at the end. I don't often go for pampering services of any kind; I'm big into gardening and the arts so Mani /pedis are usually wasted on me. Having said that, sometimes a woman wants some sparkle. My daughter was back in town after a month away, and I wanted to treat her.Typically, nail salons give me a massive headache, because of the chemicals and the drone of the fans.  Without the harsh chemicals and the constant water changes of other salons, this was a really pleasant experience, with friendly techs (we had Livonia and Tina), a tidy, calming space, and comfy chairs. I'm a gel-all-the-time fan and very picky about who handles my fingernails. I have tried a few different salons since moving to the area and Charme is one of the best. I appreciate their eco-friendly initiatives, and the whole place is impeccably clean. I had never gotten a pedicure for fear of germs before I started coming here. I've had my fair share of positive and negative pedicure experiences at a variety of salons, but today, my time at Charme was pure bliss. The employees were kind, welcoming, and informative. I had never gotten a waterless pedicure and was a bit nervy about it, but after learning why their services are waterless, I'm 100% on board. It's obvious that each worker is excited about the mission to make nails not only beautiful, but HEALTHY, and I really appreciate that in a company. This nail salon is false advertisement city. Charme posts a sign outside their doors with prices for a shellac/gel manicure (not fill) starting at $27/$30 for what I can only imagine is their no bells and whistles manicure. However (YELP I HOPE YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO THIS), I was charged $35 for the most inadequate, sub par shellac manicure I have ever received! After adding the tip this unsatisfactory manicure came out to $41!!!!Now I come from a large city and I don't mind paying a fair price for a manicure, but this place is ludicrous!! Not only did I stress that my cuticles needed some TLC, the gal flat out ignored me and barely clipped a few cuticles on about every other nail. The polish application was just okay, but the gal kept having to dig into the side of my nails because she kept getting paint on the edges. Perhaps it was because you hadn't tended to my cuticles enough. Now the kicker, for $35 you not only do not get your hands massaged a little, you don't even get lotion. I stopped by Charme for a moment of relaxation while in Tacoma on business, and I was so incredibly pleased with my experience - I had to create a Yelp account just so I could write a rave review! I opted for the Bijou pedicure with regular polish, and the paint job I received was as close to perfect as possible. Even though the Bijou is the most basic option available, my nail technician took her time on each step of the pedicure and never made me feel like I was being rushed. Not to mention, my feet feel absolutely incredible! The girls working were so sweet and talkative, and even chased me down the street when I forgot the shoes that I came in with. The happy atmosphere is so appealing, and I loved the subtle but catchy music playing in the background. Such a fun experience... I'm so glad I stumbled upon Charme! Read Less

Tiffany was our manicurist today, she was so awesome and accommodating. My mom was just diagnosed with cancer and is currently being hospitalized and Tiffany came to her hospital room and worked her magic. Beautiful shellac mani and a normal pedi, complete with massage and foot exfoliation & yummy smelling lotion. What a treat for my mom! Tina is amazing!!!! She is not only super talented, like Pinterest nail worthy, she is also a very sweet person. Wow. Tina is amazing. I rarely get a chance to take a solid hour to go to the nail salon and I've had experiences  where they completely forget about you because it's so incredibly busy.Tina will come to you! She can come to your office and book 30-45 minute sessions for you and your co-workers. Or come to your house. Crazy, right?I chose to go to the salon she works out of. It's a little hard to find the first time- you enter into an alley and it leads to a cute little courtyard. Up the stairs, and you find yourself in an adorable little retro hair/nail studio. Tina had a great selection of polish colors, she did flawless work, and she was about the sweetest, most down to earth person. Bonus: she got me in and out of there in 35 minutes. I've been going to Tina for a few months now and haven't written a review yet because I've wanted to keep her to myself... But word is getting around that she's the best nail tech in Tacoma, and her reputation is well deserved!Tina works in a hair salon in downtown Tacoma, but she can also come to you. I've only been to the salon, but it's great--when I'm there, it's usually just me, her, and her adorable dog, so it's very mellow (you don't have to stress about a dozen other people chatting and getting their hair/nails done at the same time, like other salons). She gives great manicures and pedicures, and she is particularly well-known for her creative nail art. You can find many examples on Instagram. She even painted turkeys on my nails for Thanksgiving!As other people have commented, Tina is a wonderful person to know--she's friendly, energetic, positive, and caring. I especially admire that she volunteers as a "Nail Fairy" at the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in her spare time. You can see that Tina has a devoted fan base--give her a try & you'll be impressed! Tip: She does all her booking through StyleSeat, a website/app for booking appointments. Best manicurist ever. Tina has been doing my nails for 18 months and has done an amazing job. I often arrive armed with pictures or ideas and she executes ever single one flawlessly. Definitely one of the best out there for designs and great manicures. Oh! I've been to Tina's Traveling Nails twice and each experience was amazing. The color selection she has is huge and she has shellac glitter nail polish which I love; I always top my nails with a layer of glitter polish. Plus everywhere I go, I receive compliments about my nails from the color to the shape. People always think my nails are acrylic, but they're the real deal thanks to Tina, genetics and vitamins.I really enjoyed how Tina took the time to inform me on how to take better care of my nails. Tina also provided me tips on how to make my nails grow longer and stronger. One would think that Tina's prices would be high since she is a traveling licensed manicurist, but her prices are really affordable. Tina has been doing my nails for well over a year now, and those are my hands you see in many of the photos she's posted to Instagram and on her new brochures! I followed Tina from her former "brick and mortar" salon, and I'm loving her new traveling service. I get gel (shellac) manicures about twice a month, although I can often go 3 weeks without a chip. I play string instruments, so being able to have a durable polish is absolutely required. Gel polish helps to protect my nails, while looking fabulous.
