I arrived at Urbanna after another (well intentioned, but unskilled) hairdresser at a different establishment gave me the worst highlights imaginable. I had obvious stripes. The receptionist CJ (I think that was his name) was very patients and checked with the stylists to see if there was any chance someone could squeeze me in for a same day color revision and to fix the cut (which was slightly closer to the picture I had shown). I was very fortunate to be paired up with Olya who looked at my hair and the picture of what I was going for very closely. She listened to what I wanted and reassured me that she could fix it. She came up with a thoughtful plan to fix the highlights and gave me realistic expectations about what I could expect and how we could make it even better once my hair had grown out a bit. When I left my hair looked so much better. I still wasn't sure I was crazy about being so blonde but now it is the next day and absolutely love it. The cut is great and the color is awesome. It is so much better than I expected. She added in darker roots to get the look I was going for and that made a world of difference. I am in and out of town a lot, but I will go back to Olya at any chance I get because she really understood the look I was going for and managed to make it happen against the odds of already strangely dyed/bleached hair. Where to start? I booked a spa party here for me and the bridesmaids a couple days before my wedding. I would give this five stars but the guy working the front desk (Chris?) I'm not sure that's his name but he was in a mood! First of all he got attitude because he said we were running late but in reality we weren't we got there just in time, well at least two of did and the other two were online 3 minutes late! We brought our own bottles of wine and some snacks (meat, cheese and crackers). This guy didn't bother to offer us anything until we asked about drinks or if they could open our bottles. He told us to go put our stuff in the party room. We had to rearrange some services because one of my girls was traveling long distance and didn't make in time she got delayed in travel and so we put in my other friend instead to take her place so the spa wasn't losing out... you would think it would be appreciated but this guy was just grumpy. All annoyed about the change. Once he checked us in and had a couple of us go to the locker room and the other two to get nails done he then became odd and was clearly flirting with my sister. He kept going to her like every 20 mins and asking her if all was ok or if she needed a drink refill yet didn't ask or check on anyone else... and I'm the bride to be! It was obvious to all of us the way he was overly attentive to her. At first we kinda laughed about it but then it just became frustrating when we wanted a drink refill and we had to search out someone to help us. Besides this guy, the services I received as well as the other girls in my party were great! I personally got the facial, mani and pedi and it was my first time getting a facial done and I loved it! I use Urbanna for the full service they offer. Nick is amazing with color and I get compliments all the time. The spa side is amazing and they offer light therapy which can be used for many skin corrects to healing. I tried the light therapy for a tear in my shoulder and my chiropractor asked me what I had done to make it more amenable. I told him about the light therapy and he said keep going! Read Less

This one is rough to rate. The service was excellent and my waxer was great. BUT-they charged SO MUCH. I've never paid so much for the services I got here. I was charged 35$ for *just* the "butt strip" (aka, b-hole). At every other wax place I've ever been to, I've never paid more than 20$ for that. Then for lip & eyebrow, it was over 70$ total, then I had to tip. Seems like a very nice salon, my waxer was great, but the prices need to be more on point. That was way overkill. Read Less

My massage room didn't have a working radio & the large group of women outside my door were obnoxious and loud.The therapist kept sighing loudly as if she were bored to tears during my session. Where do i begin. I am just leaving Urbanna and wow. So first off, im experienced in having colored hair, i understand that a few treatments are needed for certain colors. BUT i walked out with half silver half dog pee colored hair. I emailed and yes they booked me an appt to fix it which i appreciated. Fast forward a week or 2. I get a call for a confirmation for a day we did NOT decide on but thought hey maybe i misunderstood. They said for a correction color and a day i did NOT have off work. So we rescheduled for today since fridays are days i have off. I show up on my only day off, and the nicest woman came to get me to do my hair. Wasnt the same person so we got to talking and what do you know she WAS NOT supposed to ve doing my hair. I had my appt when i was supposed to but the front desk gal insisted the appt she had in the books was right. I get it, people make mistakes but i didnt even get my hair done when i made arrangements to be able to. I was given a wine comp and a travel sized hand cream which i could honestly care less about. Thought was nice but not what i had planned for today. Im not impressed. And after they fix my hair i wont be going back and for sure wont be telling people gow great this place is. I enjoy the atmosphere & the wine. My stylist (Ashley Shriner) is cool & a great listener. She makes me feel comfortable & that's not easy since I have social anxiety. She does a great job on my hair too.;) (Cut & color) She is helpful when I decide to change things up. I appreciate her honesty. I like that she will tell me what color would compliment my skin tone & what cut would be easiest to manage & disguise my double chin:) It is expensive, but for me it's all part of the experience of being pampered. I usually plan to walk in the door with about $200. I have a lot of thick hair & I'm usually there 3 1/2 - 4 hours. I always walk away smiling, happy, & like a brand new woman. Thanks Urbanna! Well I have contacted Urban Spas three different times to make an appointment each time my appointment got changed and they said they would call me back to set another appointment never heard back from them. Found out that the guy I was seeing Katie workout at Stateline showgirls and questioned her on it and used to go to her and get massages at Roybal Chiropractic where she ended up getting fired and I found out that she had allegations about doing erotic massages at the facility I questioned her on it and ever since then I never heard back from her. Not that I was looking for them just thought it was strange that somebody to her caliber would be doing such a thing but then when I seen her out of state line dancing it seemed a little more truthful and apparently upset her by stating something about it where she does not want to have me for appointments anymore cuz she's afraid of losing her job. I will state I thought it was kind of weird when she worked at Roybal Chiropractic and got her implants done that it was a little awkward that she showed me them as a client. I find the facility pretty unprofessional for the way that they've handled it and have stayed if if they were going to call me back he said appointments and never have and would schedule appointments and then call me back and tell me that she was unavailable on that timeline just prior before the appointment very poor staff and very unprofessional do not know if there will running an erotic massage parlor or what's going on but I find it very inappropriate and unprofessional... I was very happy with my experience at Urbanna.The ladies at the front desk were friendly and welcoming (and also gave me one of the best cups of tea I've ever had!)I loved the industrial, wine-cellar feel of the place, and the fact that no children are allowed (I want to relax during "me" time. Sadly, the excessively-chatty customers next to me hindered that.)Olya (?) listened attentively during the consult, clearly understood what I wanted, and gave me a great cut.My only criticism is the parking situation, which, unless I missed something, is right along the street.I'll definitely be back. 2 Part ReviewCyndi P., Massage, 5 stars.The first time I went to her, it was hands down THE BEST massage I've ever had. It had to be a fluke. I went back. It was maybe EVEN BETTER. She begins by asking about isssues (standard) and proceeds to get to work and finds all of the trouble spots I've forgotten about or didn't know I had. She puts in the work for a great massage, I don't know how else to explain it... I've been to massages where I feel like the masseuse is burned out. With Cyndi, I feel like her only client of the day. I notice much more flexibility, less headaches, and better body function all around. She switches between different modalities depending on what your body needs, making it truly a "6th sense" massage. I am very sensitive to smell and have sensitive skin, and everything that she uses is fantastic, no issues here! She also makes use of hot towels, and I am a yuuuge fan of hot towels. I leave feeling relaxed and refreshed, but also like actual work was done to fix many of the issues that I'm experiencing in my body due to some life issues over the past few years that have taken a toll on me physically. I know that I'm paying a premium for a day spa environment, but she's so worth it, and I hope to be able to go at least once or twice a month. Urbanna Natural Spa, 4.5 stars.This review only relates to my experience as a massage client, I haven't received any other services. I love the day spa environment. I love the infused water and snacks, I love being offered a drink, I love the steam room and the special shower and robes and lockers and product... You get the idea. I have found that, although I don't have a lot of money, this is something that I really like doing for myself, as I basically give all of myself outside of these "respits" to everyone else around me. I have some experience with in and out of town day spa environments, including hotels, casinos, and independent businesses like this one. Outside; it's easy to find, just don't be confused by their old location 1 block south. They have ample parking in a lot just to the north, or on street parking just in front. The parking lot is monitored by camera's, but I would have to say that I don't love it. I don't know why, but I think dressing up the building a bit between the lot and the front door would make it feel more comfortable and secure. Inside; the front desk is easy to find, check in is fast and simple, a drink is offered. I have not gone late enough in the day to drink alcohol, but they have non alcoholic and coffee options- super! I show up early and head straight into the locker room, pick out an XL robe (I think they have up to size 4XL? which is great!), strip down, make sure the steam room is on, and go enjoy the lounge area, with water, snacks, and very comfortable chairs. I'd like to see a healthier option of snack... Dry fruit or nut mix? However, I do love Gardetto's, and won't turn them down. You are supposed to wear spa sandals. For some reason they haven't had size 8/9, so I basically have to squeeze into a 7 or flop around in a men's 11. I usually read and enjoy a spa shower before my appointment. After appointment is finished, I enjoy a lengthy steam, so far by myself, then a 4 or 5 function spa shower. The product in the shower is phenomenal- Devines shampoo and conditioner and Aveda body wash. I only wash my hair maybe twice a week and the product leaves it so clean and lightweight and awesome. Pro tip-only one squirt of shampoo, it lathers up quite a bit. The body wash is refreshing and not overly scented. The towels are large and soft and wrap all the way around me which is always a bonus in a shared bathroom. They have a variety of product to use post shower, that are all high quality and make you feel luxurious. The Eminence Organics face products are really nice, and make my sensitive and ruddy face feel great. I bring my own brush, although they have clean brushes to use. Other spas that I've been to offer q-tips, hair ties, razors, and spray deodorant, which can be nice, as I always forget mine. All in all, I would say that I will most likely only frequent Urbanna from now on, especially due to clinician, with an occasional Davenport visit with my teenage daughter. Read Less

4 stars for the waxing service I received and minus 1 for customer service. My face wax was gentle and well done, including a nice cleansing at the end. However, my esthetician asked if waxing was even worth it for me after I explained how my skin reacts prior to her waxing me. Her tone made it feel like she was trying to convince me not to have it done rather than advise me. If I'm trying to give someone money for a service I've had done semi-regularly for years, I'm already sure I want it. Other than that, she was very kind and seemed like the type to go above and beyond for her clients. My other experience was getting lost. If you use Google Maps and just search for the spa, it'll take you to the old location (which still has the Urbanna signs on it). I'm new to Spokane, which didn't help. I had to call them for help and the front desk staff made me feel fairly embarrassed about it. It's my fault for leaving a couple minutes late and getting extra flustered, but it would have been nice if they had made me feel more comfortable and had not given me a business card then taken it back to write the correct address then given it back to me hahaha I know where you're located if I'm standing inside the building- salt in the wound. Like I said, getting lost was my fault, but making me feel better about my mix up would have made me more relaxed and want to come back again. Read Less

Upscale salon offering everything you need! Where to start? The salon is gorgeous, the spa services are heavenly. Have had cut/style done by 3 different stylists, my regular and 2 others  just because of scheduling, and each was wonderful, recommend them all!   Where else can you get your hair done and have wine?The one and only downside is the woman at the front desk; she abrupt to the point of being rude. This is her attitude every time I interact with here, and over even simple things, and it stands in stark contrast to everyone else who works. Erin was professional, kind and virtually painless. Unlike many estheticians, Erin utilizes both traditional and "hard" wax that drastically reduces pain and inflammation in those discreet/ sensitive areas. Erin was quick and efficient with my time. Made an online appointment for 3:15 pm- so excited to get a new look!  Headed down to the salon and arrived a few minutes early since it was my first time. Walked in, said hi!, and was informed that they had no online reservation for me and had nothing open that day at all. Online showed they had more than 5 openings for that day. I was disappointed. I'm not sure it's worth having an online booking system that doesn't have an accurate reflection of availability and then doesn't make the appointments it says it does. Oh well. I will start by saying how cute the salon is! It's nicely decorated and feels "home-y." The salon is downstairs and the massage spa is upstairs. I actually did not expect it to be a spa, which had a steam room, locker room, communal bathroom area, and waiting area with refreshments. What was awesome was that they offered a free wine! Overall, they have fantastic customer service and made sure I was comfortable before I head into my massage. Secondly, I had Katie as my masseuse. She is, hands down, the best masseuse I have ever had! Even back in Nevada, different spas had varied skill levels of masseuses. Right of the bat, she had great pressure and her movements were very "fluid." I guess I can say I am picky and have higher standards, but she fulfilled it all! Most massages I have received in the past are mediocre, at best, when it came to pressure and fluidity (what I mean is that she would move from one body part to another with ease and her motions "flowed" without accidentally hitting the side of the table or just dropping my arm back down on the table). It was so relaxing that I ended up falling asleep for a little bit. She was so amazing and I definitely recommend her because I plan to schedule with her the next time I go in! Read Less

This is my second time here for a cut. I have had two different stylist and both were very friendly and professional. Even the front desk ladies and gents were nice to talk to and friendly. Alcohol and pampering....that's a no brainier if you ask me. If Fantastic Sams is your normal spot, go ahead and save a up a few extra bucks to throw down here. I came to Urbanna after a series of unfortunate miscommunications between my former stylist and myself in the months leading up to my wedding.  She and I were pretty close with my hairdresser at that time, but after her two previous attempts at formal styles left me crying in the car we decided to go another direction.  My hair is fairly long, but I wanted it longer for the wedding, so she offered to pick me up some extensions with her discount and color them to match my hair.  After several unanswered texts and voicemails left me feeling like a jealous ex-girlfriend, I bought the hair myself and scheduled an appointment with Douglas. Douglas didn't inundate me with ridiculous ideas or questions, but asked me only about my dress and our venue - at which point, he detailed his vision which aligned perfectly with mine. I ended up spending a small fortune on the whole ordeal, but it felt worth it to know that everything I needed would be available to me:  I paid $200 for the hair (at Doctored Locks) and paid Brittany $70 to color it.  I couldn't be happier with it either, she did a brilliant job. The only part that annoys me is that I spent $50 on my run-through, and subsequently $100 for the wedding day style.  I feel compelled to note that this annoys me because the salon's active price list shows the trial hair as included in the cost of the wedding style - The website currently shows two sessions for $110, and I spent more than $200 after tipping. Anyway, what became of my former stylist?  Well, I finally heard from her three days before the wedding letting me know that she had blocked out the entire day and we could go get hair, color and style it starting at 9 AM.  A note about that - the wedding took place on a Saturday, and the hair shop isn't open on weekends.I am glad I elected to have Douglas style my hair that day .. regardless of the salon's sketchy billing habits.
