I went to Jonathan's for my first ever set of nails. At 40+ years old, this was a big deal, especially since it was a reward for meeting a weight-loss goal. I called ahead to see if I needed to make an appointment, but wasn't sure what the employee was asking me. I am unfamiliar with pampering and didn't know what I wanted, plus she did not speak English well. When I went in later that day, I ended up waiting over 45 minutes to be seen. My tech was rude, rough, and rushed. She was eating a snack and ordering coffee because, as she explained in broken English, they never have time for a lunch break. She was annoyed that I was asking questions and not understanding her answers. By the time I left, my nail beds were bleeding and I was crying. I swore never to go back, but I wanted to let them know that the service was terrible, so I went in 6 weeks later for a back-fill and spoke to Jonathan. He simply said, "Oh, sorry. Maybe ask for different tech next time," and turned me over to his niece, who was, to her credit, pleasant and kind. I guess she is running the store on Francis now. Good for her. But I will never return to Jonathan's, nor recommend it to anyone. I cannot support a business model which overworks its employees to the point that they don't enjoy serving the public, overbooks just to get more money, and shows so little concern for a legitimate customer complaint.
