The guy at the counter misquoted the price. He told me the membership price but I paid $49 for a pedicure. Every where else I go its $40 for both mani and pedi. Lacey is a very talented nail artist and I highly recommend her. The husband of the salon owner, however, would do well to hone his customer service skills. My personal experience with him was extremely unfortunate as I would have otherwise continued as a patron of the salon. He was abrupt, condescending, and belittling in our brief encounter. My daughter bought me a gift certificate for Sense' Spa for a welcome back to the Seattle area as she knows I'm very adamite about my nails and toes bring well groomed and very blingy. I made an appointment within a week of my moving back and have never been more pleased with the nail care and art which I received, I've already scheduled my next visit and plan on joining the monthly membership. 10+ you girls are the best. While visiting my parents in Shoreline I was in need of a gelish manicure.  I choose sense because it is near where my parents live and the high reviews on Yelp.There is plenty of parking out front and in the back.  The salon appears to be a house converted to a business.  It can be a little tricky getting into and out of the parking lot onto the busy road.I was greeted by my manicurist and offered a drink.  Then we sat down to have my polish removed.  The seats are comfortable and the decor is pleasing.  The receptionist put on some music and opened the windows because it was going to be a hot day.  Unfortunately the road out front is very busy so the road noise was considerable. There were a considerable number of colors to choose from.  My manicurist was thorough and took time to make sure I was satisfied.  I was in and out in 1 hr.  The Gelish manicure was 49.00.When I am back in town I will definitely go back to Sense for a manicure/pedicure. I've been on quite a nail journey to find a shop that not only does hard gels but that also does beautiful and quality work without compromising the health of my nails. So glad I came to Sense!I think this was the first time that I've left a nail salon with nails looking BETTER than the picture of a design that I brought in. I have Daniella to thank for that! (Thanks girl!) She did such a great job shaping and sculpting my nails. She took her time to make sure each nail was shaped evenly on each side. Which is greatly appreciated! Its been 10 days and my nails are still in excellent condition! My rhinestones are all still in tack and the polish is still beautiful, shiny, and chip free! Yessssss girl! Oh and did I mention that Daniella gave me a bomb hand massage afterwards! Which nail salon have you been to gives you a hand massage after enhancements?! My next favorite thing about this place? Homemade products without the nasty chemical stuff! The lotions and the scrubs smelled amazing and left my legs and feet feeling baby soft and super moisturized! I had beautiful bridal nails done here.  Its a random location but really easy to find from the freeway.  Lacey was my nail tech and she was very friendly.  After I left the spa I realized a few nails weren't totally great.  But I really had to look at them to even notice that so I honestly wouldn't blame her.  Also since I had never had gel nail before I didn't know if it was normal for them to be as thick as they were.  I wanted to try gels because I had read they were better than other options.  But due to the thickness of them I was not a long term fan.  I had them removed not long after my event.The price also seemed like a lot it was almost $90 for a set.  But I have a feeling that might be middle of the road for this service.  I also didn't have any fancy designs done. I had a horrible experience here. Both myself and my bff did. Lori did my nails. Apparently she no longer works there. My appt. Was automatically rescheduled. I wasn't informed until the last minute. I've been with my nail tech for two years before moving to the PNW and was a little anxious finding a new place.  Through a lot of luck and persistence I found Sense and booked a fill and repair with Lori (I hope I am spelling your name right).  She's a bamf, my nails are shiny and new again, and it's just like the busted nail never happened.The spa itself is is on the northwest corner of NE 145th st and 15th Ave NE (closer to 12th Ave NE) and can be easy to miss if you're not looking.  There are spaces up front and there's also parking in the back.  The spa is cute and comfortable, and also offers a membership for regular services.  That's one thing about the move I don't have to worry about anymore, my nails are covered. Was the worst nail experience of my life. I got acrylics and the two women working the store got in fight while one was doing my nails and were yelling at each other. The person doing my nails did them totally wrong so they ended up looking horrible and all breaking within a week (this has never happened to me before). Also I brought my own nail polish and the lady tried to take it and I had to ask her to give it back. They ended up charging me $70 for a set of acrylics, even though I checked the website and it said $55 (already extremely overpriced). If I could give it no stars I would. After months of searching for a reputable salon around Seattle that does hard gel nails similar to Japanese nail salons, I finally came across Sensé and hallejullah to that! Although on the much pricier side, I made the appointment knowing in all likelihood that I'll pay over $75, since the usual Japanese nail salons average about $90+ for a full set and design. So if you're thinking of coming here for a similar service, you should expect the same.As for the appointment, I had the pleasure of working with Amber yesterday and she is such a sweetie. We didn't talk much -- which is fine by me because I stink at small talk -- but she was very gentle with everything she did, from removing my polish and adjusting my hand to filing down the gel and shaping the nails. Now, everyone who knows me knows that I am SUPER picky when it comes to my fingers and toes, and the fact that she was able to shape them how I would've shaped them is an instant five-star in my book! Her attention to detail when applying the gel, filing, painting AND designing was also very impressive.The only reason why I give them a four-star though, is because I don't know how consistent their services are. After neglecting my feet during winter, I knew it was time. It was time to make an appointment for a pedicure and I settled here for my first foray into foot care!They have easy online scheduling here or you can call for an appointment. My online appointment was confirmed the next business day. With my confirmation, I received a message about sending along any nail art I might be interesting in having done on my toes. I appreciated that even though I don't do nail art.I arrived to the spa and was greeted warmly by Robert at the front desk. Amber was my nail technician and she showed me back to the luxurious pedicure area. There was a long padded bench with throw pillows and three foot basins with jets. The water was already drawn in my basin and I was the only one getting a service that day so we had the whole back to ourselves.I chose the hour-long Spa pedicure which included:- Trim and shape nails- Cuticle buffing with rose oil application- Exfoliation- Nail strengthening base coat - Two coats of polish plus top coat- Massage- Callus work with foot file- Hydrating mask with hot towels- Chocolate/seasonal scrub upgradesFrom start to finish, Amber was friendly and professional. She took excellent care of my sorely neglected feet. I kept apologising for how awful they looked and she shrugged it off, assuring me that she had seen worse. I appreciated the reassurance. Toward the end of my service, Amber was called away to do some complex nail art. Our time had run long because we were chatty and June took over the remaining massage and polish application. I enjoyed my service so much that I've already made another pedicure appointment to see Amber again so I can keep those calluses at bay!Music was unobtrusive and thankfully not new agey. Parking was easy and directly in front of the building. It is important to mention that the building is not accessible to those who cannot ascend 5-6 exterior stairs. I have gel acrylic nails (not the shellac gel polish, acrylic that's liquid instead of powder) and Sense has the best application I've ever had done. My nails aren't super bulky anymore, and they still have the strength I need. Victoria is really great about making your set easily fillable if you want to keep the same color you chose. She also will sandwich gel polish between your gel acrylic so you have a TON of color options. Combined with her oodles of glitter choices you can be as colorful and sparkly as you want. I love that I can manage my account and appointments online. That is really really important to me. They also have a rewards program that you can sign up for to get discounts on products and services. I'm also in their membership program which saves me a bit of money since I go there every two weeks for a fill. The salon itself is a little small, but super clean and doesn't have that horrible chemical smell. Everyone is really friendly and always willing to lend a hand to get you something to drink, or prep you for your appointment if they're not helping another client. They just redid their pedicure area too and it looks gorgeous. I can't wait to try it out! The only downside to this place is that their parking lot can be a bit difficult to maneuver. Sense is set on the border between Seattle and Shoreline in a little building that looks like it used to be a house. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff friendly. The manicure and pedicures areas are separate so it doesn't feel crowded but make sure that if you are going with a friend you may not be close enough together to chat. Sense is one of the few salons around that does gel polish. This goes on like regular nail polish and looks like regular polish but it wears so much better. You can go a week and a half or two weeks and then have to go in because your nails have grown. They have an online scheduling system and a monthly membership (that is cheaper than paying per time if you decide you want to have gels all the time.) I prefer a little more attention to detail in the final product but my nails still looked good. Read Less

The experience was no better than at the place I normally go, yet was twice the price. I could tell my nails were not filed the best and she didn't exactly go to town on my callouses. If you want REAL sculptured gel form nails this is the place. I had never had gel forms done before (always used the basic acrylic tips) but my sister who lives in another state kept bugging me to try the gel forms. So I called around and checked just about every nail salon in the greater Seattle area and this is the ONLY one I could find that does true gel sculptures. And what a find. A lovely little place, right on 145th St. at the Seattle/Shoreline dividing line. Not having had gel form nails done before, I didn't quite know what to expect, but Hitomi the nail stylist was just great and informative and in 1 1/2 hours I had a beautiful natural looking full set of nails. I went to Sense Nail spa with two of my friends to get our pedicures and I must say, I had a great time. I really liked how it didn't feel like a typical ""nail spa"". Instead, I was relaxed and really enjoying myself. They do a great job taking care of you and making sure your experience is great. There's a gal there that is awesome at adding a little something extra on your toes. For me, she put a flower with a swarovski crystal in the middle and I love it!!! It's super cute! The only suggestion is, since the pedicure and manicure rooms are completely separate, make sure you and your friends do the same thing, especially if you want to chit chat. There are only 3 pedicure chairs so if you plan on going there with a big group, you will have to take turns. Nail polish colors are limited but it may because of the type of polish they use. Since it's safer for the environment, that might be the reason. Overall, I had a great experience and I hope that you do as well. Read Less

My sister and I went to this salon on a Saturday morning. She got french tips and I got acrylics. We had an appointment set two weeks in advance, but the technicians were still scheduled too tightly and had to rush everything. My polish started chipping on the way home, and on the sixth day after getting our nails done my sister called me complaining that her french tips were cracking and that two of them had just fallen off altogether. The next day, my acrylics started falling off- and it's not like we were really hard on them. My sister is in school and doesn't work, and I only work part-time. The stuff they use at Sense is not acetone-based, which is better for your nails but it makes it extremely difficult to get the nails off. My sister had to go to a few classes with half-filed off french tips. After spending $70 between the two of us, this was a very unexpected letdown. We're not going back. Read Less

This was the first time I've ever gotten my nails done at Sense and the experience was just so relaxing and comfortable. The nail technicians were friendly, welcoming, and SO detailed with their work and treated me as a friend rather than ""just a customer."" The environment looks and feels so first class. The interior is so clean, sanitary, while at the same time beautiful and trendy. It's been practically a week now and my feet still look and feel like new. I searched far and wide for a salon that doesn't use MMA which is a prohibited ingredient (banned in 22 states) in cheap acrylic products. I must have called 10 different salons and it was obvious that all my neighborhood salons were clueless that this is an issue.This salon was the only one I found that actually knew what I was talking about and advertises that they only use products with EMA (the good stuff). Read up about this on the web if you want to know the concerns. Anyway, they happened to accomodate me the day I called for a full set and they were great! My daughter received a manicure and it was meticulously done. I would go back to try their pedicures. The brother and sister team are professional, smart and hard working.
