I had the Lash Lift and tint done a couple of days ago. I was disappointed with both the Lash Lift and tint. The Lash Lift is like a perm for your eye lashes. It didn't work on my lashes. I see ZERO change. My lashes did not curl from the lash perm and the tint isn't noticeable. I will say that I am half Asian and have somewhat short, straight lashes. I am NOT giving Wax Bar itself a 1 star. I am giving the product, Lash Lift, a 1 star. I do understand that it will works differently for each person. But, the fact that there was zero affect I am giving it a 1 star and especially for the price. For me it was a total waste of money. The Wax Bar and employees are great. Super happy about trying out The Wax Bar and finding my new go to for spot waxing in my neighborhood! I have been going to Inspa at U Village for more than ten years, despite the fact that I haven't lived in north Seattle for longer than that. It is RIDICULOUS that I did not have anywhere to go in WS. Finally, a friend recommended The Wax Bar and when I saw that I could book online for an evening appointment I was excited -- convenience and evening hours are high on my list. They got me in right on time, offer me a beverage (I had a tasty mint tea when I arrived a few minutes early), and was there easy street parking. Most importantly, the wax services were GREAT and I booked again for next month. My brows have not looked this good in a long time. After going to European Wax Center for years and being new to Seattle last month I was in DIRE need of a new wax salon. After some searching online The Wax Bar was one of the highest rated salons I found so I decided to give them a try. After reading some reviews I saw that they had happy hour discounted prices for their waxing services! (Yaaas!) only to find that the discounted price for a Brazilian was the same price I paid at EWC for a full priced wax.. happy hour pricing is $50 and full price is $74  I was able to make an appointment during HH hours on a Friday which was a relief. The only stipulation on making appointments during HH is that you have to call and make one the DAY OF which again was no problem for me.The facility is very clean and they have lots of cute jewelry, candles, and other knick knacks that you can browse through while you wait for your waxing specialist to come get you. Oh AND they offering a variety (including alcoholic) beverages for you to enjoy while you wait as well! After undressing and beginning I quickly realized that this salon does not use hard wax which is all I have ever used since I started getting wax. Georgina was my WC and she was lovely. Very pleasant, super sweet, and easy to talk to! I tried my very hardest to act like I wasn't scared but I was TERRIFIED. As I lie there wishing my lady bits goodbye I think Georgina could sense my fear and quickly struck up a conversation to distract me. This ended up being a very pleasant experience is not nearly as painful as I expected and that in part should be credited to Georgina. You could definitely tell she had been in the line of work for a while SHE WAS AWESOME. They also offer a $10 discount to your services when you come back within 4-5 weeks. First off, for those who set an appt up online - you might want to call & double check with them the appt was made. I know this defeats the purpose of setting it up online but when you waste your time actually going in for no appt at all.. it's a bigger waste of time.After making an appt online you will receive a pop up that confirms who the appt is with and the date and time. I had selected "any provider" so my consultant was auto-assigned. This afternoon I walked in and was asked for my name and who the appt was with, after a quick search she apologized and said she couldn't locate me on the schedule. I told her the details on the pop up-who it was with, the date and time again. She looked once more, then back at me with an emotionless stare and repeated herself. I asked if she could fit me in somehow, but she continued to stare and say... "I'm sorry..." She didn't look at the calendar to see if there were any availabilities today, tomorrow or the rest of the week - or tried to even fake it. I booked this appt just yesterday, I doubt they were completely booked the rest of the week.The reason for my one star review is not only because of the glitch that occurred with my appt, resulting in my leaving work early being a waste of my time. It's also due to the lack of customer service. I have not recieved any services from the salon so I cannot provide a review or rating based on their actual services. I work with consultants and their calendars every day - it's my job. I've never not tried to help a client out, just stare at them unwilling to help or rectify the issue. I have been going to see Marielle for brazillians for  the past 2 years and she is amazing. I tried a couple of other local places before and they don't compare. She is very fast, and she is also very good at distracting you from the pain. She encourages you along the way and makes you feel comfortable. The only think I wish I could change is that I just wish they didn't use so much baby powder. I've heard bad things about it and would rather stay away. Read Less

Over a month ago I got waxed at a different salon and wasn't blown away by the experience. My boyfriend gets waxed here so he referred me to it. It's awesome, cute little shop and drinks for sale. I got a Brazilian from Makenzie and she did an amazing job! She was very precise and made sure she got everything. She was very easy to talk to as well. I will definitely be going back! After getting sugared for the last 6 months, I decided to get a wax just to compare my skin and hair growth after about a week. I was looking for a place on Yelp to get waxed in West Seattle, and came upon The Wax Bar. What intrigued me was that they have a liquor license, not gonna lie!! I was also able to make an appointment same day. As the day unfolded I ended up having to go after the gym. Sooo sorry Kaylea! (I had a brazilian and underarm wax) Thank god she gave me some wet wipes to "freshen up" before she got to work!Kaylea was great. She was easy to talk to, worked fast, and didn't miss any spots. A week later my who-ha is still silky smooth and my underarms are completely hairless with no ingrowns in either place. I also had to pry myself away from buying everything in their adorable boutique! If you are looking to get waxed, whether a veteran or a rookie, I would go to The Wax Bar! Yaaaas!I was in Seattle visiting and realized that I needed a serious wax (brazilian and eyebrows).         I am not one to stray away from my beloved waxers at home and decided I could wait a week. Wrong (and not cute).I decided to give Wax Bar a try and just get a brazilian and I am so happy I did! The space is very friendly, welcoming and clean. I saw Kaylea for services and she was absolutely wonderful! Very considerate of my service, excellent communication and extremely efficient. I've never had such a successful brazilian before. Am so thankful.I was so pleased with her work I asked her if she had time for my brows and she did and I love them. I've been seeing McKenzie for several months now and I'm so unbelievably pleased with her. Not only does she get eeeeeevvverryyything(I get a Brazilian), but she's quick and so funny to chat with!  I've had terrible experiences in the past with waxing(i.e having to go home and pluck myself, NO) but I've never been less than 100% satisfied here. Whenever I am in need for a bikini wax The Wax Bar is where I go. The location in West Seattle is ridiculously convenient since I live in West Seattle, I never have a problem getting an appointment, the pricing is competitive, but the biggest plus of all is esthetician Makenzie who gets all up in my biz, making everything tight and right down there.  Overall, The Wax Bar is contemporary: clean, neat, streamlined. You are surrounded by white walls and white furniture. You almost feel like you are in a super fancy lounge. The products are minimal but that adds to the flow of the store. Everyone at the front desk I have  encountered has been pleasant. There are greetings cards, jewelry, and body products plus nick nacks. One time I bought a friend of mine a crayon necklace. Score!Makenzie is my favorite waxer. She is a great conversationalist, effecient, and fast, a perfect trifecta. Oh, did I fail to mention you can buy beer or wine? First time getting waxed? Absolutely fantastic! Every experience I have had here is great. The waxing services are top notch, with cooling "globes" run over the freshly waxed skin and calming oil applied. All the specialists are friendly and good at what they do. Perhaps the best part (and their claim to fame) is they have a beer license and so you can get a glass of IPA or framboise while you wait. It really takes the edge off! They also have great skin care, jewelry, candles, cards and other fun knickknacks to peruse while waiting. But definitely make an appointment! They book up. UPDATE FROM REVIEW BELOW: the owner personally called me after this and acknowledged that there should have been more flexibility with my being late. I very much appreciated it and was invited back to get waxed again. I am beyond pleased with the follow-up and will be returning. As I mentioned below, the waxing services are wonderful and Marielle is the best! --------------------Normally I would write a glowing review of this place. Waxing services are great, the place is clean, and Marielle is wonderful. I have been a client of hers for over a year. This review is customer service related only. For my most recent wax, I arrived 10 minutes late due to unexpected traffic (I had a brow wax and Brazilian scheduled). I even called ahead of time to let them know. When I showed up at 6pm instead of 5:50, they offered to do the brows, but not the Brazilian. Needless to say I was disappointed and declined. Let me also say, I COMPLETELY understand the importance of being on time. I know that it can throw off an an entire day of appointments if someone is late. I always show up on time, if not early. So the delay was a one-time fluke. And, there was a time when I have waited over 30 minutes for Marielle due to delay with other customers. Other times, there have been 10 minute delays and I've never made a complaint about any of them. Of course, this is all forgotten when it is the customer who is unexpectedly late...The bottom line is this: I simply would have appreciated the same courtesy I have given Wax Bar when they are delayed. We're talking about 10 minutes, not 30. This is a customer service industry and I am paying a lot of money for these services on a monthly basis. The Wax Bar is a really cute place for beauty services, shopping and having a drink. I didn't have a drink when I went, though I may next time. I got my eyebrows waxed, they look really good. Mackenzie did the service, I asked her to keep them on the thicker side...which she did. Usually when I get my eyebrows waxed at other salons, it's as if there's a competition to see just how thin they can get my brows : / My ONLY complaint is that my skin had a rather bad reaction to the waxing...perhaps I'm allergic to an ingredient(?) I'm not sure but I had a rash for a couple days after, however everything looks fine now. I will more than likely return! Read Less

I love this place. Maryelle is awesome and she does a great Brazilian. Get there a few minutes early because they have awesome items for sale in their waiting area. Adorable shirts, jewelry, make-up, lotions etc. They also sell beer and I think other options like wine/champagne. Im pregnant so after this baby I'll take advantage of the little bar:) Their happy hour is pretty sweet. From 1 to 3. They mentioned it to me when scheduling my first apt. The way it works: you have to call in the morning you want your hh wax and then schedule it that day. I have had one hh wax and two full priced ones mainly bc I needed it on my calendar and couldn't risk not getting in. Go here. You'll love it.Read Less

I had eyebrows that I was okay with. I didn't love my eyebrows nor did I hated them. I remembered passing by the Wax Bar of West Seattle one day and decided to stop in for an eyebrow wax. I was set up with Marielle. All I can say is WOW! My eyebrows never looked sooooooooo good! I actually loved my eyebrows! My recommendation is let your eyebrows grow out (like really bushy and untamed) and come here and let Marielle work her magic! Read Less
