The overall atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. But the service was provided very poorly. I got a french manicure which was done very badly with no base coat (!), the white tips were shaped manually without any guides and ended up having uneven edges. The cuticles were not cut appropriately. After the manicure I had my fingers covered with traces of white coat here and there and had to clean them myself later. The master used nail files that looked neither new nor sanitized. On top of that it felt weird to get a manicure from somebody with so untidy looking nails. Read Less

Five stars all around. Was traveling and as usual looking for somewhere to help revamp my skin from the stresses of flying. What intrigued me with Spa Noir was their convenience in booking and use of high quality products. Absolutely had one of my most memorable facials with Jessica using Eminence and will probably be transitioning my routine to them from now on. Overall, the whole thing was spectacular including customer service and attention to all of my skin concerns. I came in with a very large alcohol zit forming right between my eyebrows and left with a visible glow and with my spots all on their way to being healed. Start with the positive: I had two massages at spa noir because I received a gift certificate. Both gals were very nice and did not try to hold a conversation during my massage (which surprisingly is not a given to many massage therapists). That's about where the positive ends. The spa is right next to a bar and has paper thin walls. I could hear the bass dropping throughout my massage. But that was nothing compared to the actual music playing in the rooms. All of the rooms have the same music, so don't think you can request a change. The music was fast paced with high pitched signing- i.e. the least relaxing ambiance one could hope for when getting a massage. Apparently they pride themselves on the fact that they don't play the same style music as most massage places-- this "unique" ambiance should be revisited immediately. I have been coming to Spa Noir regularly for facials for the past couple of years. I always see Jessica and can't imagine trusting anyone else with my skin. I truly look forward to my monthly visits for the following reasons:1) The atmosphere itself is great- really awesome decor and a chic oasis in the heart of Belltown.2) The staff is unbelievably friendly and accommodating. I never feel forced into buying products which can really take away from the service you've just had. I've been to several different spas around Seattle and pushy salespeople really kill your spa high. Never the case here!3) Speaking of products, I do happen to be a fanatic of the Eminence Organic line, which they carry here. These products coupled with my facialist's expertise have completely transformed my skin.4) Jessica herself is a doll with impeccable style. She is incredibly knowledgeable  about her profession and skincare/ wellness in general. I always end up having a fantastic conversation!5) The massages I have had here have been unparalleled. I've even sent some friends and they've all reported back feeling completely blissed out after their treatment.I never write reviews but I'm moving cross country this month and don't know what I'll do without Spa Noir! I loved my sessions with Jessica, the lovely owner of the the spa. I am constantly impressed with the array of amazing products they use and sell. Its ok. Overpriced. I would never really come back though. The ladies are... nice... some of them anyway. A bit of a snotty attitude going on... and since i walked in with appointments ready to spend hundreds of dollars I expect a better welcome. Pay attention when a client walks in and stop talking to each other about gossip. Their manicure and pedicures are WAYYYYY overpriced. The massage you get with mani and pedi was bad, she barely put in any effort and the paint job and gel manicure actually came out sub par to the ladies at the random nail salon on any corner that do both for $50. These cost about $60 each! I expect my nails to look amazing for $120. The massage was ok, but for the price I have had better. She didn't really listen to what areas I wanted her to concentrate on and seemed not very invested. Again, for the price I expect better. I did really like the girl who did my facial. She was very nice. But it made me break out for a week afterward when I told her acne was my concern. The only service I really liked was their eyebrow and lash tinting. They did a good job and it cost the same as most of the spas I have been to. Otherwise, it is VERY loud in the building and it is next to a bar, there is no comfortable place for you to sit and relax between services if receiving more than one. They put you in a dark hallway in a rob waiting for your next technician to be available. They charge way too much for their services. I was treating myself and spent over $650  before tip for multiple services (massage, gel manicure, pedicure, facial, eyebrow wax, tint, lash tint, coconut oil head massage, and a few others I forgot)  and most of them were overpriced for what I got. An occasional massage, and I always ask for their best deep-tissue specialist - and ALWAYS leave feeling like jello and feel it for a couple days. Which is what I want. I am perplexed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I received a gift certificate here from my husband for our anniversary. Made an appointment for a 45 minute facial and 90 minute massage. For starters, I did not receive a warm welcome when I came in and was not given any direction. I was asked to fill out some paperwork and then sat there for about 15 minutes. Most spas will send you to a back area to relax and have some water and or tea prior to your service. This was not the case l. When I voiced my concern the front desk clerk smirked. Off to a bad start. My facial was good overall. No complaints. Skin felt good after.During my 90 minute massage I had a difficult time relaxing. The walls are way too thin for a spa. I could here talking from both sides of the walls and constant doors opening and closing. In addition, I told the massage therapist that my main concerns were my back and left hip, but she ended up spending more time on my legs and hands.Overall, I'm quite disappointed and do not understand the hype. Absolutely LOVE getting massages here! Worth the price. I have had several people do 90 minute relaxation massages on me and it leaves me sore free and completely relaxed. This place is a little gem. Frannie gave me the most amazing manicure, which has lasted almost a week with no chips. My husband and I both had massages with Kim, which were phenomenal. We both agreed they were the best massages we had ever had. The staff are all friendly and just lovely. The ambiance is very relaxed and I loved the eclectic mix of background music. Had a facial with Nichelle and it was the best facial I've ever had!!! I normally hate the sting and poking of facials but this was a relaxing luxurious event with very high end products, soothing application, and hot enveloping towels to gently remove them. I never write Yelp reviews, but this place is exceptional.I had a brow shape today and it was quick, precise, and painless (really!). I'm picky about my brows and like a natural shape, and my skin is pretty sensitive. Marina listened to all of these concerns and gave an excellent consultation before getting to work. I had a great prenatal massage here while on vacation. The massage therapist was very knowledgeable about different types of massage and helped me with back aches and tmj pain. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm. The music was not your typical spa music but I liked that they played things like Aretha franklin, portishead, Norah jones. My friend Amie and I went today and both had the Winter Radiance package. We loved it!! It was how we ended a Seattle girls weekend. This spa was very customer service oriented and special ...it started with making the appointment and fitting us in, greeting us warmly and making us feel comfortable when we arrived. I got to have the facial first, and it was one of the best facials I've ever had, followed by a great great body scrub & massage.I'll be back for sure. This might need to be a monthly treat for me. WARNING: there is no air conditioning in the massage rooms. I came for a pre-natal massage today and there were only 2 fans running in the room. The high today was 89 degrees outside and the temperature of the massage room was at least 75 degrees if not warmer given that you have blankets draped over your body. The 2 star review is primarily for the facilities, and not the massage therapist. The pre-natal massage was fine. The atmosphere was not. Besides being very warm in the room, the pre-natal body pillow was too firm, rough, and coarse.  Also, you could hear people giggling, and the sounds of doors being opened and closed. The music played during the massage is also eclectic, and I still have the phrase, "I am a woman" playing in my head from one of the songs overheard. Since becoming pregnant and traveling for work, I have a massage every other week at different spas depending on where I am. The technique of the therapist was fine, but the overall experience was not enjoyable. Who wants to be sweating and listening to the lyrics "I am a woman" over and over again while trying to relax. I stopped in today for a massage and facial. I'm traveling and wanted to pamper myself a bit. I've never done spa service before, this was the first time I've had either service done. I made a last minute appointment the day of. First things first you walk in to a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I got all checked in with no problems. Becca met me to take me back for my massage. I only asked for a 30 minute, not knowing what to expect. Even though it was a very short massage and not full body, she made sure to hit the key points I was concerned about. I really wish I had sprung for the hour. She was informative and explained everything to me in detail, and gave me great suggestions for when I returned home from traveling. Next I had Frannie for my facial. I have eczema, and she was able to find products that make my skin look and feel amazing. She also was very engaging and helpful the entire time. I may not know what to expect as far as massage and facials go, but I was beyond pleased here. First of all, I adore Lydia.  Yeah, that's the British lady at the reception.  She's witty, fun, and great to share an intelligent conversation with.  I seldom write reviews, but I wanted to do one now simply because I can no longer contain my joy.  This past Saturday, I decided to let Amira work on my back and shoulders.  It felt a little sore after the massage, but Amira had already cautioned me that that was likely going to happen given that she had worked quite a bit on my upper back and shoulders.  As I got out of the shower last night, I noticed for the first time in I don't remember how many years, my shoulders and upper back were pain free!  OMG, Amira's hands are just magical.  It's unbelievably amazing and I can't wait for my next one with her in two weeks.  She's great with Brazilian wax as well--very detailed oriented, gets into every nook and cranny...okay TMI. I mean the people there are nice and everything, but the policy for care there is over the top. I had the tinting done and that was okay, it could have been better, I thought... what got me though, was how they would not repair my shellac nail(s) that had gotten chipped free of charge which was chipped like that next day of getting them done.
