She cleansed my skin, took the time to look and listen to the concerns I have about my skin and treated every one of my needs. Her touch was very gentle and relaxing , and she explained the products she used on me when I asked. I left with my skin glowing, hydrated and the inflammation from my acne that has been bothering me has gone down! She also gave me samples that fit my skins concerns.Thank you Haley!! I never get my nails done anymore, because they don't last, and get pricey. For my birthday a friend treated me to a mani pedi. Kayla is amazing, she is precise, friendly, and extremely talented. This was my first time experiencing nail art, and she did a great job. I will definitely be back for more. I have extremely sensitive skin and have avoided facials because of it. After a recommendation i gave it a try and the products used are amazing, i even bought some Haley recommended and they have improved my skin. Haley was extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and great at her job. I had such a great birthday, and it started here. Had an absolutely delightful time! The service was fantastic- I got a gel mani with the 15 min nail art for the holidays, and Toni was incredible! She worked with me to create a cute present look, which would work from Christmas through New Year, and lasted three full weeks (normally, a gel mani lasts about 10 days on me before it starts chipping/I start peeling it off). Everyone was super friendly, the vibe of the entire place is very relaxing and welcoming. They use organic and often local products, like their sugar scrubs for your feet and coconut lotion. I also got my eyebrows waxed and it was a super fast, easy experience. I'm so excited to go back there again! Plus, getting a glass of wine while getting your nails done is ALWAYS a good idea. 10/10 would recommend. Since Juniper Salon is close to where I live and it's non-toxic, I thought I would give it a try based on previous reviews. However, the place is filled with overpowering scents and I could hardly breathe while I was having my services. I'll drive the extra miles to go somewhere else where I can have a mani/pedi without the swarm of perfumes (natural or not) from the retail section. First time, but I had a main/pedi, lash extensions and bikini wax.  I got a gel manicure, with nude half moon on the cuticles, which allowed them to grow out and still look good.  I was going to be travelling for the next few weeks, so needed something that would last longer than your typically two weeks.  I am now four weeks out,  I have never had a gel manicure last this long!!  And I haven't been too kind to them.  They lasted through cooking Thanksgiving meals, vacation in a hot humid climate, pool time, long flights.  They haven't peeled or chipped!!For my lashes, I had an issue with the first set, for some reason one side didn't adhere like they should, and I lost half of them the first two days.  Lexi was great and got me back in quickly and filled the missing ones for no charge.  They have been great since and still look good.  I truly appreciated the high level of customer service.Lastly, my bikini wax - it looks good and my service was fine.  My only issue, was the waxing was a bit messy and I wasn't really given anything to clean myself off with afterwards.  I had chunks of wax on still that I had to pull off.  I would used them again just to see how it goes a second time.So, mani/pedi A+, Lashes A+, Bikini Wax - B. I live in Queen Anne but trekked to Ballard to check out this spot with my girlfriend. It is gorgeous and adorable inside. A week later, and both my friend and I are extremely disappointed in our nails. We got the Luxe Pedi ($65!) and standard Mani ($40!) plus tip... and my entire manicure was completely chipped and ruined by day 4. I went to a black tie wedding with disastrous nails. I'm a big fan of clean nail care ingredients but they're going to have to step up their game BIGTIME in cuticle care, quality of polish, and overall degree of experience if you are going to charge $$$$$ versus competitors. We scored 11:30 appts until......I was told that someone booked the 11:30 spots online while I was on the phone with them; I thought our appt was secured and was asking for directions. HORRIBLE service to not have secured the appt 1st then offer directions. When I said I would not be calling back to request another appt, the woman said "thank you for calling, have a nice day". WTF? I would not compare this to a quick strip mall, sort of place. And when I pay over $100 for a mani/pedi, I expect a little more as well. For example, while the salon was beautiful, I wished the chairs were more plush and relaxing, that both my hands and feet were soaked before starting the process (I don't like dry cuts) and ultimately, that the product lasted longer. Both my and my friend's nails chipped the very next day :( It was just such a shame, but our nails chipped and our cuticles don't look so hot. Decided to try them out for a pedicure. I'm 6 months pregnant, and it's getting hard to reach my toes. I decided I would get a monthly pedicure from here on out. Definitely won't go back. I was seated across from the break room, where someone ate their dinner and made phone calls, and also from the laundry room, where there were loads of non-stop laundry being done.  Not very relaxing. I paid 60 for the deluxe pedicure, and I still have some calluses on my feet, and also today have a red inflamed nailbed, that hopefully isn't on its way to being infected. My appt started 10 minutes late and ran only 40 minutes. I was excited, as a mama-to-be, because I saw they have a giveaway bag, but, I didn't receive anything. Way overpriced. Absolutely love this nail bar in my new neighborhood. I was referred by a coworker and it lived up to all of my expectations! I immediately fell in love with the decor and ambience when I walked in. I also enjoyed a killer 50 min pedicure to the sound of great music and the option of several different complimentary drink options (champagne... is this real life?) The customer service was great and welcoming, and they also have tons of fun retail items to browse through if you have to wait or have time to kill after your service. I look forward to going back! The women were very nice and able to squeeze me in as a walk-in for an express manicure, which still lasted almost an hour. The space was beautifully decorated, and I had to remember to keep still in my seat and not turn around to take it all in! I appreciate that Juniper offers such a variety of nail art. It feels much more worth it to me to get a manicure I couldn't do myself. They listened to my ideas for what I wanted, made some suggestions, and made sure I was happy with the finished product. I just went for the first time and LOVED it. PLUS usually my nail polish struggles to last a week and we're over 10 days in and it still looks good with very few chips! Not only did I get a great natural pedicure, but they gave me a free mama-to-be goodie bag! I'm super glad this place opened because at 7 months pregnant I can't reach my feet without straining, haha. I have been waiting for natural manicures and nail art to come to Ballard so I was thrilled when Juniper opened their second location in the neighborhood.The service is amazing, the people (owner, staff, and clients) are friendly, and the spa has a great vibe. Lying about your products being vegan is not okay. From the website FAQ: "A nontoxic nail experience is provided by using products and polishes that are 100% natural, organic, vegan, and not tested on animals." From the About page: "All nail polish Juniper stocks are not tested on animals, vegan approved, and 5Free (absolutely no Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor or DBP - Dibutyl Phthalate)."... I trusted the website when I booked my appointment and excitedly walked in for my manicure appointment, but thank Maude I had a knowledgeable and honest manicurist who knew what she was talking about. I walked into Juniper thinking I could pick any nail polish because they're all vegan - nope. This isn't true. Turns out there are multiple polishes at Juniper that aren't vegan - in fact, according to Tiann, the owner, only three polishes are vegan. And very few of them are certified cruelty-free, as well - another falsehood on the website. Worse, only one manicurist in the entire salon knew which polishes were vegan and which weren't - the other manicurists expressed surprise when they learned that all of the polishes weren't vegan. So the staff isn't appropriately or honestly trained, either. I know we have a dearth of vegan and ethical nail places in Seattle, but Juniper - not vegan, not ethical - is not the place that's going to change that. Edit: The owner will threaten to take legal action against you for slander if you leave a negative review. I've got an email I'm happy to share. Steer clear of this place, friends. Edit 2: A Juniper employee, Kelly Ornstein, stalked my Instagram and screencapped my personal posts and photos in an attempt to use my illness/disability against me. She shared them with a friend of mine as proof that I am "a hypocrite". Yes, you read that right: she combed my posts going back a full year in order to snake screenshots and weaponize my personal photos/posts. I am slightly obsessed with this place. The salon itself is decorated so well with perfect little details that make you feel like you're in someone's cozy home. The service was amazing. I scheduled my appointment online but forgot to add on nail art so I emailed them. They got back to me right away and were so kind and personable which isn't always easy via email. I love the effortless application of my polish and chose a flattering shape for my nails. I had a nice experience meeting the staff and owner, Tiann, which inspired me to book a Luxxe Pedicure on their grand opening day.So what does a Luxxe Pedicure involve? Your feet are soaked in customized aromatic bath salts, a nourishing exfoliation with an organic scrub of your choice that isn't overly harsh, callus and cuticle care, shaping, massage with luxurious hydrating lotion/balm and perfectly polished nails. Toni did an amazing job with my pedicure where not only was the polish applied with perfection, I was relaxed and not once did I feel tickled or any pain.Price wise, it is higher than what I am used to. This was only the second day they had been open. My technician was Vivian, loved her she did great work. I had the luxxe pedi since it was my first time here I thought I'd go with the works on my pedi. She too great pride in her work, and I felt like I was getting my moneys worth of spoiling myself. I would definitely ask for her again. Great ambiance a lot of natural lighting, cute decor very welcoming space. Their prices are a little more than most places, but I expected that since it's a nontoxic salon. They use products and polishes that are 100% natural, organic, vegan, and not tested on animals. They have a wide variety of colors to select from, and natural products to purchase would definitely come back to purchase gifts for friends. I love that they're open till 8pm I don't feel like I have to rush from work during the week if I made an appointment. Couple of suggestions possibly have a small throw pillow a shorter person can put behind there back for pedis. New favorite nail place! I love everything about Juniper nails in Ballard. I walked in needing a quick mani/pedi and could not have been more impressed. My services were great, the place is clean and beautifully decorating, they have tons of great nail colors, I loved the music, was served delicious herbal tea, and enjoyed shopping their retail. Often times when I get my nails done it is more of a grooming necessity than something I really enjoy. I hate all the chemicals and cheap lotions that a lot of places use, and end up willing my nails to dry as fast as possible so I can wash it all off.
