This review is for Tomoko. She is a brow genius. My brows, like most people's, are not symmetrical at all, and naturally fairly thick and straight/square with little to no natural arch. Tomoko was able to immediately look at my face and specifically say what she would do to create the look I wanted, and how she would shape the arch to best compliment my face. Her execution was perfect, relatively painless, quick, and she herself is a sweet and lovely person to work with. I've seen her twice now, and plan on seeing her exclusively for my brows as long as I live in Seattle. Hell, I would probably fly back to see her even if I moved back to the east coast (I already do this for my hairdresser in NYC--finding someone who knows how to cut curly hair in Seattle is impossible). I didn't think that my brows could have a beautifully distinct arc like I see a lot of other people with. After reading reviews about Tomoko, I called in to make an appointment to see her and she is amazing! She is very detailed and will tell you what shape best fits your face. I have Asian brows so I'm glad she was able to help me achieve the shape I wanted. I loved chatting with her as well. As for tips, you can only tip with cash so I recommend bringing some cash with you. I definitely would recommend her and I am looking forward to see her soon. I got my brows done here by Jenny and thought she did such a good job! Benefit Brow Bars are consistently my favorite places to get my brows done. At $20 they aren't all that much pricier than anywhere else and they will make your brows look pristine when you come out of there. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes, enough time for them to be thorough, but you can also be in and out. In my experience, they are very prompt. My only complaint is that at every Benefit I've ever been to for my brows, they are very pushy with product. Often trying to tell you the products you currently use aren't very good, and that you should use theirs, or that you should think about getting your lip waxed, even if you don't want that. Jenny didn't do this, but brow artists at other locations have told me all the flaws with my brows, which doesn't make you feel great. Bring cash for a tip because you can't add it on a card! I would definitely recommend this place over Anastasia - they do great work for a reasonable price. I know people on here seem to love a specific artist, but I think they are all good. All I know is, once I started I could not look back. Like all the reviews say, she IS the brow guru!!!! Not only do your brows look amazing every time, but she takes the time to put concealer and brow make up on to make you look extra perfect. But honestly what I love the most about going to get my brows done with her are our conversations. This location says they are open 11-5 on Sundays but don't make the mistake of trying to be a client as no one is actually here.  I waited 15 minutes for someone to show up at the counter, and finally other employees took pity on me. This review is only for my experience with Tomoko. I came here after reading all of the good reviews about her and it seems like all of the 5-star reviews are because of her! She really knows what she's doing and will give you what's best based on your face shape, hair growth direction, etc. I've recommended her to so many of my friends and all of them have had the same great experience. I've been to many places in the area to get my eyebrows done including Stacya Silverman, the Anastasia Brow Studio in Nordstrom, different threading places, and this is by far the BEST place. The pricing is reasonable, but the only thing I don't like is that it seems like they are pressured to upsell you as much as possible. Besides that, Tomoko is amazing at what she does and she is definitely my go-to for getting my eyebrows done. Jeni: NEGATIVE 9 stars for her rude, hostile and unprofessional attitude. Tomoko: 5 big star for her amazing skill. Needless to say that she is the brow queen.  She never failed me for over 5 years. Not even once!Sara, the manager: 5 big star for her excellent customer issue follow up skill. Benefit should be proud to have her.  She is a great asset to this location.  A long story somewhat short....I've been seeing Tomoko for over 5 years.  She is amazing like others mentioned here.  Benefit reached out to me and rescheduled my appointment with Tomoko due to their confusion.  Then my new appointment was passed over due to a Benefit's management issue and misunderstanding on both my end and their end.  Let me be clear that I'm not upset over the fact my appointment was taken away.  Stuff happens, I get it.  What made the situation way worse was how Jeni treated me when I asked the status update for my appointment.  Jeni put the entire blame on me with bossy defensive attitude.  Not a one word of apology.  Not sure why I have to take the entire blame for the issue caused by 90% poor management and 10% our miscommunication.  It is also not a good idea to complain to your co-worker how you had to deal with this mess in front of the customer.  My experience with Jeni was just not acceptable.  Horrible enough to make me give up Tomoko's brow skills. Tomoko tried to make up for the situation.   Even after I told her that no further follow up is needed, she went extra mile to escalated the issue to her manager.  Sara who wasn't there at the time followed up on me the day after.  She was very reasonable and admitted that having 2 counters so far apart had caused them to struggle with issues.  She also admitted that confusions happen at least once a week.  They usually have enough BA to cover that issue.  If it was not for Tomoko and Sara, my last experience with Benefit would have been the worst one.  Thank you Tomoko and Sara for being reasonable and professional. Came here on vacation when I couldn't go to my usual eyebrow threading place. I had a really good experience with Jeni who waxed my brows. Normally getting my brows waxed leaves them irritated which is why I switched to threading but Jeni worked some kind of magic. Not only did my eyebrows look awesome, they weren't bright red the whole day (my usual reaction).Note that this is a Benefit Beauty Bar so they are supposed to try to sell you product. I had an amazing experience here!  I've been having my eyebrows waxed for 20 years, and every time I do my brows are puffy and red for hours (sometimes days) after waxing.  I end up scheduling my waxing for a Friday afternoon, and become a hermit for the weekend waiting for my eyes to look normal again instead of looking like I was in a fistfight with someone wearing gloves that are on fire.This was the first time I've ever left a waxing session and been able to continue my day looking good!  Not only are my brows more beautiful then they have ever been, I had minimal redness which only lasted about an hour.  I will be a loyal customer from here on out! The first time I walked in here I was nervous and skeptical 3 years ago. I've seen lots people walk In and out of working at benefit. I have really thick and full brows and really picky about the shape and maintaining their natural shape. Andrea did my brows and I was hooked from then on. She did an amazing job and I came back to her time after time. There was an instance where Andrea was unavailable and I saw Alisha. She did an amazing job as well and I stuck with either one of them after that. Recently I figured out neither of them work there anymore. With all the hype about Tomoko I decided to try her out. She did a great job. But I feel like Andrea did a slightly better job. She just knew exactly how to shape my brows every time. Although tomoko is good it's not the same. Not to mention it's hard to book with her. Her schedule is not flexible at all she tends to be gone a lot for various reasons. Not a fan of that. Read Less

They will tweeze my brows to perfection with no waxing or sugaring that irritates my sensitive skin. I have gone to places that charge $60 to $80 each time they do your eyebrows with mediocre results and for a quarter of the cost, though still pricey, the ladies at benefit brow bar always make my brows look amazing. Tomoko is a master in her craft. She's truly an artist. I've lived across the US in most major cities and it's really hard to find someone as skilled as she is. She truly understands face shape, coloring and symmetry, but also listens to your main concerns and provides her thoughts. I've been going to Benefit for years and have only come across one other artist (Rosie in Chicago) that is on par with Tomoko. This was my first time getting my brows waxed I was a loyal threading client but idk I just couldn't handle the pain anymore lol..So this was 7 months of eyebrow grow out and I was desperate. I just walked over to the benefit counter and a lady took my name and number down and I was able to get an appointment in the next hour. Came back and Janet did my brows asked if I had any topical medication on and asked what I liked, I had been going too thin for years and I let her know I love a natural full brow that's cleaned up and that's exactly what she did! She even filled them in for me with benefits brow powder an I loved it! Ask for Janet she's very serious on making sure everything looks top notch. My brows have been sad for nearly 3 years.. I stopped having them waxed and had become one of those awful plucking girls.. I have girlfriends who have those "on fleek" types of eyebrows.. oh how I longed for so long to join their club.  Then one day.. the leader of the "on fleek" crew (aka my gorgeous co-worker) suggested I go to Benefit - she enjoyed how non full of themselves the girls who worked there were, that they cost less than Nordstroms and the service and results were amazing.  I consulted with the "on fleek" eyebrow queen and she raved.. YES, you MUST see Tomoko. Upon arriving for my appointment Tomoko greeted me with a warm welcoming smile. (I couldn't take my eyes off her amazing brows.. I was so doggone excited - would my brows look as amazing? Hope...hope...hope..) The next 30 minutes were amazing..  before she waxed me, Tomoko consulted with me regarding the shape of my soon to be "on fleek" brows and why she felt the shape was good for my face. She clearly knew what she was talking about. She asked me how I felt about her suggestions.. feeling quite confident she was THE Brow Goddess.. I responded: "whatever you feel is best - do your thang girl".. And she did - GIRL.  She SLAYED my eyebrows. My brows were sexy and sculpted.. they were.... ON FLEEK!!!!  She took the time to reapply my foundation and walked me through a tutorial of how to use the powder she used on my masterfully shaped brows. She wasn't pushy with the products and I was happy to purchase.Tomoko is amazing, she is sweet and very, very talented. (She's been with Benefit for NINE years!!) And oh my gosh - she is so humble. I kept telling her - "I don't think you realize how many people are raving about your brow shaping skills.." I've had great and bad experiences here. I've done my brows strictly at this brow bar by Vanessa and I trust her completely with my brows. Unfortunately she wasn't there and I got another lady that I've had before she's done an okay job before but yesterday was by far the worst experience along with some other bad encounters I've had there with the other ladies. I told her I like my brows thick and I asked for a clean up. She butchered them terribly now I have a bald spot in the middle of my left eyebrow and both brows are completely different shapes. I am definitely finding a new place to do my brows because I'm not going to be paying 20+ dollars to have my eyebrows badly treated because of the wax ladies hurry. If you decide to go here ask for Vanessa. Highly disappointed. I would have addressed the problem if I saw what she'd done but she quickly covered it up with brow product until I took it off at home I saw why she covered up by brows. Read awesome reviews and thought to give it a try. Got my eyebrow waxed by Andrea. A nice lady, but I'm not impressed. Her skill is mediocre at best. Instead of giving me a shape that would compliment my face, she kept asking if I was ok with what she did. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. After about a 20min of waxing, I felt a little sting on my upper eyelid, but didn't think anything of it. She used concealer to cover up the redness. After I got home, I noticed something odd on my upper lid/eyebrow area. I removed the concealer from the brow wax and noticed the red blotch. I think she didn't do a good job waxing/pulling the tape and caused a small scar like on my upper/eyebrow area (see pic). Would I go back again?! Nah... I'll stick to my go to place on the Eastside. I love the makeup that this company produces. However! This location is just awful. I have come into this location three times. The first time I asked for a lip and brow wax and the staff laughed at me because it had been a little while since I'd had time to get it done. I went back over the weekend because I have a big store opening coming up in my life next week and would like to get my lip and brow touched up. No one was there. Not a single person was at the counter. I went again today for the same thing and again no one was there. How do they expect to make money when no one is there? Also, how does the staff expect to get returning customers if they make them feel uncomfortable and awkward? Part of there job is to make women feel and look pretty, yeah? So why laugh when a young woman is coming to you for help with a problem she is already uncomfortable with? I highly recommend this brand for make up, and if you are in the Beaverton, OR area. This review is long overdue. I've been going to Tomoko for over a year and she's one of the best brow artists in Seattle. With consistent care, she's been able to help maintain my brows and help them grow in fuller. I get them waxed with her roughly every 3-4 weeks and would highly recommend her. The other artists are good, but in my opinion Tomoko is the best! She books up quickly, so I'd suggest calling or stopping in to see what her schedule is like.Note: Tips must be in cash. Nikita is absolutely amazing ... I have been getting my brows done by her for over 2 years and she has completely transformed my look. I am also extremely sensitive to wax so I get mine tweezed every time and she always makes it pain free! I, also, am the biggest fan of their makeup. I had some time to kill and finally decided to give the Benefit counter a try. My brows were in terrible shape! Hadn't plucked/waxed in months. Vanessa is the girl who worked on me and she was amazing!! If I lived in Washington she'd be my go-to, 100%. The Benefit Brow Bar is much cheaper than any studio I've been to in LA recently. Vanessa was quick and very friendly. I'm such a nightmare when it comes to getting my brows done because of so many bad experiences. But she listened to all my do's and don'ts in the beginning and arched my brows to perfection! I was refered to come to the Benefit Brow Bar by a co-worker at Sephora. I came in and was helped by Janet. She was fantastic and my experience was amazing. I had never been waxed before and I have pretty sensitive skin. From start to finish Janet made me feel at ease and comfortable explaining what she was doing and asking about my day. She saw that I had a Sephora bag and we talked about my purchases as she did my brows. I explained to her the look I wanted and they turned out great, I get compliments all the time. I honestly didn't expect much because I've always had my eyebrows done at small nail salons around my house, but I am so glad I shoveled out the $21 for this service. (pricey? yes! but you get what you pay for!) Vanessa is amazing! She cleaned my brows and gave them more shape then afterwards told me a few tips and tricks to fill them in. Been going here for over a year, and will never go anywhere else. Vanessa does a fantastic job, I suggest always seeing her. I used to see Jasmine, but she transferred to Bellevue :( Ever since I started coming here, I get daily compliments on my brows and always refer them here! They are great!Always able to get in, either by calling ahead when I am on my way, or by walking in and sitting right down. I've never really had to wait, which is surprising with how busy they are! The girls are so friendly, always chatty while they work on your brows. Reasonably priced, $20 +tip is pretty good for the service you receive. They will cover up your red brows with concealer and fill them in if you ask as well for no extra charge, which is nice so you don't have to walk around the mall with red under your brows. The only thing I don't like is when I get there too early and the girls who don't do the brows or whatever, who are just working there, try to sell me on the Benefit products, even if I say no. They sit you down in one of the beauty chairs and "prep" you by trying to sell you their products (I get it, they are just doing their job). If I do say no they still are a bit pushy. Not that I don't like the products - I just shop at Sephora for my makeup needs. So I always try to get there about 5 minutes early so I don't have to deal with that pressure. Read Less

I've been here a few times for my brows. I don't go as often since I've noticed that the shape of my brows don't always stay consistent between beauticians at Benefit...but I guess you could say that about anywhere unless you go to the same person every time. There was also a time or two when I think they took off too much on the outter corner of my brow. I still like coming here every once in a while because I love the atmosphere, the girls are super nice, and my brows do look more sexy...can brows look sexy?
