Gift vouchers only last 3 months. Rang 17/1, voucher was issued 16/10.... one day after date on voucher and was told "best they can do was half price". Seriously disappointed. Went in and got a fullset w/ gel the other day and I'm super happy with them. The lady that did my nails was older and had been doing them for awhile. She took her time on them and made sure they were set good, she was really careful when shaving down the nails around my cuticles too, at other places I have gone to every time I get a set of nails, which is maybe every couple months if that, they are always sore hours later but not this time! I was really surprised. My only complaint is that two of my nails weren't evenly filed at the ends, but I know I'm the only one that can tell lol. Otherwise they are super cute and have gotten multiple compliments on them. Though it's a relaxing environment, I do wish they had a TV to be able to watch while getting my nails done as the ladies aren't easy to understand and don't make much conversation. Just got a pedicure from the girl named Anna. (She has a heart shaped face, younger.) She's great, the cleaning of my cuticles was very detailed and she went in to get the cracks clean. She scrubbed and scraped the bottom of the feet so well! I honestly feel so clean and I'm so happy with my service. It was much needed, my feet are so much more acceptable in flip flops Now! This is one of my favorite nail places in the Seattle area. I would always advise calling in and making an appointment because no matter what day or time, they are normally pretty busy. If you are looking for perfection, always go to Tammy. She is a perfectionist and very friendly. I think her specialties are waxing, acrylics, & manis/pedis. Snow is pretty good also. They keep the salon very clean and the atmosphere is normally pretty relaxing. All of the staff is very friendly and detail oriented which I appreciate. Read Less

Enjoyed the friendly staff at Mimosa; made an appointment for right when it opened on a Saturday and got excellent service. Started to get busy as I was wrapping up but my technician checked in to make sure everything was okay while my nails dried.While taking my toe separator out so I could leave I dinged one of my nails and she came over and fixed it for me (obviously not enough drying time). I went in to get my regular refills and I was laughed at rudely and the staff refused to serve me. After about 20 minutes of them arguing of who would do my nails and me waiting around while they started on my friends nails (which they had no problem with doing) they finally started mine and then as we went to leave we were charged the price of a full set and not refills. Worst experience I have ever encountered at a nail salon. I went there because my grandmother recommend it to me, she said the ladies were very nice and attentive. Too bad I forgot that my grandmother is very optimistic so her opinion was not very valid... first when I came in for a manicure I was greeted with a very heavy feeling that I wasn't welcome or wanted. During my manicure the lady avoided polite nail salon conversation. She was very rough with my hands and sped through it. She cut me good on my ring finger which stung really bad everytime she put product on my hands. Then she gives me a pissy adittude when I ask her to repeat herself because she has a very heavy accent. If that wasn't bad enough the way my nails turned out was just disgraceful. Un-even file job, hang nails left over, and super messy paint job. So messy in fact that I actually went straight to Safeway next door to get nail polish remover so I could do my own damn nails when I got home. I'm really disappointed. -.- Read Less

The Pedicure is the best we've had and the girl who did them was warm and friendly and very skilled. I would like to give 5 stars to her. The owner of the business however was rude, arrogant, argumentative and utterly lacking in customer service and communication skills. She did not like that I only wanted nail art on one finger of each hand but plain on the other fingers. I had to really insist to make her do it. My friend had similar difficulties with her. My friend w...anted french tips and pointed to mine and very clearly said to the owner to do them 'like hers' but it was my friend's first time and she did not realise that the owner was giving clear tips until it was too late. Instead of being accommodating or apologetic the owner went on tbe attack and blamed it all on my friend. She point blank refused to rectify the mistake by at least painting french tips over the clear. She insisted we would have to pay extra to have the mistake fixed. Had to get gas at the Safeway and decided to get a pedicure since I was in desperate need of one. Walked right in and got seated, but service was horrible. Very rough on the feet, one of my cuticles stung because they must have cut it too deep into the skin. Never felt that in my years of getting a pedicure. Then after asking for a design on my toes I wasn't really happy with a part of the design and just asked if they could make the flower all one color instead of these polka dots they were putting on it. Instead of just fixing it, she just heard I didn't like it and hastily took off he design, quickly applied another coat of nail polish on my big toes and called it a day! You know, as a mom who wanted to treat myself out this morning to a pedicure it really sucks when you get such bad customer service. When you barely have time to take care of yourself and you finally decide to and this is what you get...I needed to write a review. I've been here at least 4 or 5 times...each time thinking that it won't be as bad as the last. Well, it always is...who's the idiot now? They totally wreck my cuticles, the nails aren't a consistent shape or length, and my 8-year old niece can do a better job applying nail polish - it's uneven and SO thick it literally takes 2 hours to dry. This place is conveniently located in a small, neat plaza by Safeway off of 3rd in Renton with free parking. It's called Mimosa Nail and Spa, but they don't offer mimosas or anything like that, bummer! That would've been cool. I've been here a couple times and have never been disappointed! Make an appointment if you can because they do get a lot of walk-ins. Most recently my sister and I made an appointment, I got a French tip shellac manicure and she got a regular manicure and pedicure. They did a great job and we were done in an hour. I've been here a few times but this time I brought my friend because they've always done a great job on my nails. Well, my friends manicure turned out great but mines  didn't.We were greeted right away and waited for about fifteen minutes. A technician sat us down and started on my friends manicure first. Another tech then started on mines five minutes afterwards. She did everything the way I liked except for the painting part.I brought my own nail polish that I've used at home before and I told her that. (I used Loreal's polish and it usually paints on pretty). She painted two coats but it wasn't enough. I didn't want to complain although I should have, so I left disappointed. I don't know if I want to go back. My mom had a bad experience on Mother's Day last year so I'm thinking I will just keep searching for my "go-to" nail salon. Read Less

you know... i went here, despite reading the previous review... hoping that maybe, just maybe, things would be different. sigh.my sister and i walked in around 5:20. after EVERYONE stared at us, a lady popped her head out of the "spa" cubicles and greeted us. i asked if we could do two pedicures, and she said "yes, blah blah blah." i wasn't sure what the blah blah blah was so i asked her to repeat. duh. what else would it be: pick your color. we picked out our colors and went to go sit down when we were steered away gently to use the "waiting area" instead. ("honey they still cleaning, you sit there." alright.) after about 5 minutes, we were ready to get pedicured. my sister felt the water was too hot, so they added cooler water for her. fast forward throgh all the tickely foot scrubbing and conversations.oh wait. conversations. let me expand on this. i don't mind the ladies talking... but do not STOP the pedicure just so you can continue on your conversation with each other. can't tell you how many times my sister and i looked at each other with the "wtf" face in full disbelief of how many times they would just neglect what it is they do... well... besides talking.finally, they got past it and were able to finish the pedicures. we sat at the "nail drying" stations drying our feet until about 6:20. i feel that i should add that they didn't rush it (duh) and they accomodated a guest that was looking for a facial wax 15 minutes after the salon closed.the decor looks like someone tried... but then ran out of supplies and money. my massage chair felt and sounded like it was about to short out. looks a lot better from the outside.i won't be back unless there's some apocalyptic emergency where i need nice feet and the transportation system of south seattle has been depleted. Always unprofessional. You walk in and they all stare at you for a few minutes, then someone will yell from across the room "what do you want?" A little on the dirty side. Their manicurists are really rough and slow and they aren't very friendly. I was trying to convince myself that they were worth going to because they were right on the way home from work but the last time was just the straw that broke the camel's back.I walk in, do the usual awkward waiting around until someone screamed at me and then I sat in the waiting room for over twenty minutes. Someone else walked in, sat down for all of two minutes and then they called her over. When asking how come she got in first, they just told me sorry and to keep waiting. I was beyond annoyed, not only at what had just happened but also at their nonchalance. I asked how much longer, they spoke amongst themselves for a moment and no one ever answered me. I got up and left and will NEVER go back.For anyone in the Renton area I would recommend Hosanna nails on 900 next to Blockbuster. Julie is sweet, fast and does an amazing job. The salon in clean and bright and they're equipment is new. This place is not worth going to, despite the convenient location. Read Less

I have almost always been very satisfied with Spa Mimosa.  I don't get to visit them as much as I would like, but every time I go back they always remember my name.I mainly visit when it is time for a pedicure and have been happy with the quality, rarely a chip, lasts for at least a good month.  Their brow service is great too - not one complaint.There is one nail technician that I would stay away from - not very gentle. I went to Mimosa a couple of times in the past, but last week was the last time!  First...I hate when you go in to a nail salon and ask for a service, and the only say "pick a color".  I asked if they had time to give my friend a manicure and I wanted a pedicure.  "Pick a color!".  So I did.I sat back in the chair to relax when she started removing my polish and the phone rang.  Someone else answered and called my pedicurist to the phone.  She walked over and began to speak on the phone in her native language (not English).  She then proceeded to put the phone on her shoulder, come over and start working on my feet again.  SHE TALKED ON THE PHONE FOR 20 MINUTES!!!  During that 20 minutes she gave me a pedicure that was mediocre at best.  That was BEFORE she used the little razor thing and took a large chunk out of my foot.  When it started to bleed a lot, she stuck some cotton on it and told me it was bleeding because "my foot was dry".  It had been soaking for 15 minutes!  She put some alcohol on it, hung up the phone, and finished my pedicure.  My foot was in pain, and she just kept going.I also needed an artificial nail on my big toe, where I had lost one after getting my toe smashed.  She put a tip on it that pointed upward, it was horrible.  I told her so and she argued with me that when my foot was flat on the floor you would not notice that the nail went straight up.  Guess she didn't think I wore shoes?When I finally put my own shoes on, the open wound from the razor was in a spot that my shoe rubbed, causing it to begin bleeding profusely.  No offer of a bandaid, just a curt "$49.00, please".I told the girl about my dissatisfaction with her service, her phone conversation, her injuring my foot without so much as an apology.  The manager was sitting in the seat next to her and said something to her, at which time she brought me my change.  Wow, for all that they deducted 4.95 from my bill.Never will I go there again.  My foot is infected, I can't wear shoes, and I have half a toenail.  HORRIBLE service, just awful. I'm not a fan of a 3 week waiting list to get my brows shaped and when it's time, it's time, AND LADIES YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.Ask for Tammy or Mi-because they just get the job done right.I would've given Mimosa a 5, but unfortunately they get busy too and a 30 minute wait sometimes feels like 3 weeks.
