Had an awful experience at another salon, where my hair was unevenly chopped, layers were not appropriate to be called layers and more hair cut off than I wanted. I called them to fix it, and they basically said no. I phoned the Style Bar yesterday in a panic, and they took me in and took care of me. I've only been here 3x all with Amanda. She's an amazing hair stylist! Every time I come in it's for cut and balayage, she listens and ask question on exactly how you want your hair to be, if you show her a picture of what you want she does a great job replicating it! The salon itself is nice and clean with a great atmosphere.. only complaint is the location you can easily miss the drive way and it would be a pain to have to turn around cause it's a one way road Read Less

So my hair has been purple for the past few months post-college graduation, and I wanted to do a full re-dye back to brown in order to prepare for job interviews. I live in Seattle, but I've had quite a bit of trouble finding a quality stylist that is reasonably priced in my neighborhood. A good friend of mine recommended that I see Magi, and I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly because of a cancellation.Magi did everything that I was envisioning for my hair and more! She was friendly, professional, and really attentive to what I wanted for my next style. I ended up with brown hair with some subtle lighter tones added to the ends, similar to a balayage. I have been a stylist since 2003 which means that I’ve actually had terrible luck finding a person who is worth my money due to the fact hat I understand what to look for when watching someone perform hair services. Hair services can be expensive and to add to that I have ALOT of hair. I seen Shauna today after doing my research I chose her to do my color and haircut(new style change) and I’m definitely coming back! She has amazing technique. She listens well. Has a great sense of what looks great. And she understands how to make your haircut YOURS by shaping and paying close attention to how she adds detail. 2 days, 2 heads, 2 stylists, 2 horrible experiences. 1st, my girlfriend had an appointment for a dye on Tuesday. After the girl got the dye in and got her all set up she went to do another haircut. My girlfriend sat there waiting with the dye in so long it started to burn and get hair is so fried she's afraid she's going to have to cut off about 5" after she's been growing it out for about four years. The next day was my turn and I was apprehensive after her experience and turns out for good reason. Different stylist this time, I generally keep my hair on the longer side and wear it "messy", I told her as much, just shy of my shoulders is what I said. After the first couple cuts I could see it was going to be bad but at that point it's rather too late. I now have the shortest hair I've had in probably 25 years. To all the woman who get lash extensions, not a good place to go to. Paid $150 for a full set with Katie and 1. She didn't properly give me a full set due to having a next client 2. More than half of my lashes fell off that same night, seemed like they weren't glued on right. I texted her and instead of taking responsibility and getting me in to fix it due to my eyes looking really un even, she tried to blame it on me and say that it was something in my home care when really that was not the case. This is a good salon! Conveniently located near downtown Puyallup. Parking was easy to find and the salon was clean and spacious. I have to give a shout out to Magi who is a very talented stylist. She does the hair of several people I know and did all of the wedding party's hair for a wedding I was in & she brought a friend along with her to do our makeup. They did a fantastic job, so I ended up going to her on my own to get a hair cut and a red and blonde ombré. She is very good at what she does and you can tell her customers and her work ethic are very important to her. She is also very fast and efficient, easy to talk to and very calm. Read Less

I've seen three different stylists here and have only been happy once. I'm really upset about the money that I have spent and not been happy with my hair. One time, my hair came out looking grey. Another time, I came in for an angled cut and the front came out really really short!!! I'm afraid to go back, I can't afford to waste that much money. Called as soon as they opened and they got me in that afternoon. Amazed for my thick hair and length of cut the price was a lot less than expected. I was nervous at first when I saw how much hair came off (she took a little more off then agreed upon and what she physically showed me before she started cutting), but it looks great. I received the worst cut and color I have ever had from Roberta, I definitely won't be going back! Along with my color looking like my 2 year old did it, I asked for layers but Roberta suggested doing texturing instead which left my hair looking extremely thin. Which is the exact opposite of what I wanted, I was looking to get more volume and for my hair to look fuller. My shampoo also was extremely painful, I had tears in my eyes and felt like she was riping every hair out of my head. But the worst was my color, after paying Roberta $155 dollars for the disaster she did I had to go to another salon 2 weeks later to have some one completely redo my color to make it look okay again. She provides excellent feedback regarding new styles and trends and will often suggest styles and colors that will look best on me. She even did my hair on my wedding day! Just moved to the area I've been trying to find a hairstylist or a salon to go to I ran across reviews on Paige and she had really good reviews so I made an appointment with her and I am so happy with my hair color I never can find somebody to get the right Blonde that I one  want and I finally did! I definitely will be back again! Paige definitely knows what she's doing and she has a lot of great tips my hair usually feels really dry after I get it colored but leaving today the salon after Paige colored my hair my hair feels healthier than ever!! Im rating this place 5 stars for the establishment it self and for my stylist. I started going to this place about 3-4 years ago, I was recommend by a friend because I wanted someone who could trim my bangs how I wanted! This is such an important thing to have in a hair dresser because bangs can be so fussy! I was recommended to see Magi and I am SO GLAD I DID! She is amazing and always knows exactly what to do with my hair and her balayage skills are amazing! This place is always clean and the receptionist is always friendly! I will have to say that my personal exp. with Roberta was complete opposite of what I just read in a prior review. Let me start off saying that I was stoked I got in same day to see her, and she was something to write home about. She totally listened to me ramble about what I didn't like, and then made some great suggestions. She was sweet, very classy and very positive. I left there feeling a million times better than when I walked in. My hair is my thing. She nailed my thing. Sounds like the prior bad review was just mad she was getting charged a cancellation fee. I have been coming to Stylebar for a few years and I will never leave. I see magi for my extensions, colors, and cuts and I am always amazed at how good my hair turns out. I also go to Gina for my eyelashes and waxing. The entire staff is very friendly and I love the decor of the salon.
