The environment was pleasant and The Owner was very kind. However the woman that did my nails was inexperienced. They did not know how to do the nails I asked for and tried to convince me it was some other technique (I’ve received those specific nails several times...I know what I’m talking about) so we compromised. I had a photo of exactly the shape and length I wanted my nails, and I received none of that. Upon requesting the woman fix certain nails that were shaped oddly she swatted my hand away and wouldn’t let me complete a sentence. My nails are crooked and too short. I just moved here from out of state and was really nervous about a new nail tech. I had gone to the same person for almost 10 years and loved her work. After reading the reviews I decided to try South Hills Salon and I'm so glad I did. Linda did an amazing job with the full set of pink and white nails that I asked for! After reading the reviews for South Hill Nails I decided to try them out. That was until I walked in! I expected a wait, no problem, but after only a few minutes in the salon I had to leave. The fumes inside were unbearable!! I got an instant migraine and felt nauseas to say the least. Since I didn't receive service I can't speak for how the quality is in the services they offer. I've since reviewed a lot of the photos of their work and I'm not that impressed. This is by far my favorite place to get my nails done. I have petite hands and I was so happy with how my acrylics turned out. They're not too bulky and my nails look exactly like what I asked for. The customer service was great. I did make an appointment and had no problem with my experience. The only thing that could bother some people is the strong smell. If you're sensitive to that stuff then this might be a problem for others but I personally didn't mind it. Read Less

Don't ever try to come in without an appointment. Several times I've come in and they say yes, then 2-3 minutes later they ask you to vacate the chair and they're going to take someone else. Sometimes you just want to pamper yourself without an appointment. Not here :( Read Less

Shellac came off and chipped within a few days, so I went back for repair and 2 days later an entire nail came off. Also the pedicures are not complete. I will not be back again and wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. Read Less

My daughter and I went in to get our nails fixed after a bad experience down the street. The people who were working were absolutely lovely, and did a fantastic job. They were thorough and meticulous. The price was half of what I paid at the place down the road. I'm never going to go anywhere else, they deserve the business and earn it with the good work and reasonable prices. I highly recommend  going here if you're looking for a salon in the Puyallup area. I have tried a few different shops in the area, and they have been, at the very best, disappointing. The shops in this area are less than impressive so far my experience. I stopped by Southhill nails on my way home and I am so happy I did! I first looked at the reviews, and 4 and a-half stars is never a bad thing. The pictures I was a little torn on, but every reviewer was so happy with their nails, it seemed worth it to give this shop a try. The set of nails I came in to get a fill on were uneven, chunky and just mediocre (from the previous shop I went to). I saw Kim and am so happy I did!She changed my shape from Almond to coffin. As I said, the set I came in with was pretty terrible, but Kim took her time evening out the tips and sides. She thinned the acrylic down a lot (I like mine thin and narrow), and she went back several times with a file to make sure every nail was even.The polish job was beautiful, and I didn't feel rushed out when it was time to leave. I sat for a good ten minutes under the dryer.All the employees were nice and accommodating. The shop was slow, but had a steady flow of regulars (which is a great sign!).Overall, I am so so happy! Very disappointed. Went in for a powder dip as I have been wanting to try a safer way other than gel. Never got a manicure or had my hands sanitized prior to application. Rather she buffed my nails and cuticles with the electric file. Guess that was considered the manicure. The dip part went well until the final top cleat coat, which she applied clear gel and put my hands under the light. Don't think hands should go under the light in a dip polish. Now the clear top coat is peeling and cracking. Probably won't return here for another $35 powder dip. Do your research before you make an appointment! Read Less

Been here a few times and they've always done a great job. The last time however I called to see if they had an opening and they told me to come in. I only live 2 minutes away but when I got there I was told they were busy and I was asked to come back at 5 pm, it was around 11:45 am at the time. This place is amazing!! I took my five year old daughter and they were so patient with her and over all amazing they painted her toes and nails at the same time! The prices are awesome for the work they do I was amazed by it! The entire staff is very friendly and personable which my daughter and I loved. My new fave salon! Everyone was so friendly and professional! I got a shellac mani, and Donna, my manicurist, is definitely a perfectionist! She didn't miss a single detail! The interior is really clean and comfortable, and they had Fixer Upper on, so it was like my best case scenario. I'll definitely be back! Only downside is that it's a little hard to find, and GPS doesn't know how to get there! But look for the sign from Meridian instead and it's worth it! Read Less

Clean place, friendly staff. But took my best friend and niece for birthday pedicures and asked for 3 DELUXE pedicures with gel polish. We did not get deluxe pedicures. Got the very bare minimum basic, the massage wasn't great and only lasted about maybe two minutes. And it was $120 for basic pedicures. Will NOT be returning. Very disappointed. Read Less

My new favorite salon! I called in and got an appointment for the same day. Definitely call, and be patient if you need to wait. They were completely booked up and busy. My pedicure was done by Ruby. The pedi was simple and my toes looked great. My nails were done by Vincent, and he is amazing. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he told me to trust him. He more than delivered. I'm so glad I found this nail salon. The price was awesome. Important since I was paying for three individuals. I called ahead and was given a total for our services the estimate was higher by just a little. So no sticker shock and very reasonable. We have meber had such a great pedicure, the products used were organic and of good quality. The staff is very friendly and our nails look great. My daughter had her eyebrows waxed. She is so happy, not too thin which has happened at our salons. The customer service is great, they listen which is so important when serving the public. This will be my permanent salon. I have extremely short nails and have a hard time keeping acrylics on. Days before I came here another place did them and they had fallen off. Recently just moved here from a small town so I had no problem paying a few extra dollars for a gel manicure than I am used to; I had expected to do so. Arrived as a walk in, I did not have to wait too long 10 minutes tops. I did not catch the name of the woman who did my nails but I know she was the only one on the job who was not pregnant. I noticed the UV nail dryer is not as strong as I am used to and is a little uncomfortable for the placement of my hand. Right before I left, whom I believe to be the owner, Vincent introduced himself and cashed me out. After pulling out of the parking lot I was irritated that I had nail polish all in between my fingers. It has been one week and I am upset that my nails are chipping and scratched. My job does not require hard labor just pushing papers. Gel usually lasts two to three weeks for me. I will be looking for other places to test out. Read Less

I'm suuuper picky when it comes to my nails. This place is everything I approve. The staff is nice, very welcoming & really care about what they're doing. I didn't get the females names that did my nails, but the manicure & pedicure was perfect. Vincent who is the main person in the shop, very nice and has great customer service.. all of them do! My daughter and I have come here a few times. Usually we have a good experience but today was horrible. The pedicures were lousy....poor foot and leg massages, using the cuticle clippers too aggressively, cutting toe nails uneven and poor polish job (polish was chipping later in the day) and worst of all, they cut my toe and i woke up this morning and it is swollen and painful. I was looking to find a new nail place so i went online and looked up reviews south hill nails got ok reviews so i decided to try them out plus the're next door to my amazing hair stylist so as soon as they opened i walked in and the lady working told me that the owners were on vacation and she is only taking apponitments and i said so you can't help me she said no sooo i took my business elsewhere! It strikes me as funny that they are a business that is supposed to cater to people thats how they make the're money and if they turn people away i;am suprised they are still open for business also i've been in customer service for 16yrs and word of mouth is sometimes better than advertisment i send my customers to the places i go when they compliment me on things they like that i get done so i help create business and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO NOBODY in fact i will let them know what kind of business they run Read Less
