I went in late Tuesday afternoon without an appt and only waited about 10 mins or so. Everyone there was super friendly and I received an amazing pedicure. It was quiet and relaxing as well even though they had a steady stream of people coming amd going. Best service I've received in a long time and I didn't feel it was rushed or hurried. I feel like their service is getting increasingly worse. A pedicure should be at least 40 minutes but my last one was only 20 by the time I sat down and the lady was completely done. She was also extremely rude to me and yelled at me to stand while I was sitting down. Sometimes it's great service, but it feels like I have more bad luck there than good now. Read Less

I had been going to Tina to get my nails done for awhile now. My sister was the one that referred me to Tina (owner), even though my experience with Tina is a little different than my sister's experience. I didn't mind that too much with all her personal questions or when she was rough on my hands. Today I went to get my nails done, but before I go, I called to ask if Tina is available and if she would be able to take me, the person that answered the phone told me yes, even asked me what time I prefer, I responded 3pm. She said, "Yes, Tina will be available for you."I got there; I was told by her Tarah that I would have to wait for 45 mins if I want Tina to do my nails. I looked over at the back, and Tina was in a pedicure chair. She heard me asking for her, but she just ignored me. But I assumed she must be busy otherwise she would at least say hi. Tarah continues telling me that Tina has a client at 3pm. So I asked if anyone else can do ANC nails, Tarah said yes, and asked another lady (Joann) to do my nails. I was all right with that. My mom was in the front by the entrance waiting for me. Tina at this point is NAPPING. She woke up and walked over to her station. Tarah started to tell her about Me wanted Tina to do my nails. Tina said told Tarah who I am and she said it all in her language (Vietnamese ) not knowing my mom who was waiting for me can speak and read Vietnamese. My mom did not want to say anything until these girls refer me and my sister a bitch. My mom then asked the lady that did my nails why they are calling and talking about customers that way. The lady responded to my mom that because there are too many customers and that most of them won't understand Vietnamese. Then my mom said that doesn't matter you shouldn't be talking crap about your customers, you never know who can understand you, and they are the one that brings you money, show some respect. Then that lady said to my mom "oh you don't do this job, you don't know how we feel, it's tiring". My mom responded " It doesn't matter. Tiredness doesn't give you the right to call anyone nasty names and words." That lady then walked away and came back continuing finishing up my nails, and she asked me if that was my mom. She's now started saying all nice thing to me which at this point I still didn't know what they all talked about because I don't speak nor understand Vietnamese. The lady also asked me if I understand Vietnamese. And I said no.After she did my finger nails. She told me to go to sit in the pedicure chair. As I was doing that, there was another customer walked in who is not Asian and is pregnant, she was instructed to go sit in one of the pedicure chair, as she was doing that, all Tina, her sister and a couple of her staffs said about that pregnant lady that she is pregnant got a big belly , why does she still want pretty nails. Oh, and she also called my sister, my mom and I "KAMPUCHEA" which is a rude and disgusting way to call Cambodian. That is like calling African American or any black man an N word. ** For those who doesn't know the history between Cambodia and Vietnam here's a little story behind why Tina the owner and Tarah her brother/sister don't like us for no reason is because Cambodia and Vietnam once had a war with one another. and some people are still holding on to this racism and hates. And unfortunately, Tina and Tarah are a few of them. ** Tina, later on, IM me on messenger and try to twist things. She said she didn't called us any bad words. She told me to google this world "Con nho" which isn't a bad word. But she's actually called us "Con Cho" which mean bitch. So there you go, if you go to that salon, listen for that word. They did an outstanding job!  I plan to go back and take my family.  They take their time and don't rush.  Best of all, you are with the same person for both your manicure and pedicure, if you are ok with that.  So make sure you are not in a rush and are ready to pamper yourself when you go.  I liked the little to no conversation during my visit, which helped me relax just that much more and the movie they had playing was good as well.  The price for my gel mani-pedi wasn't too bad either. I have been there 3 different times, trying to give them a chance. Frank does a horrible job! Doesn't pay attention cause he's answering the phone (he's the only one that answers the phone) he doesn't do a complete job, always tons of mistakes and NOW I have 2 nails that are infected. this place is nice when you walk in full of people working but behind the close doors are nastyyyy.. i went in to get a wax my chin i was taken back very quickly.as soon as we got in the room the station was very neat and clean .. she began to wax my chin and i noticed after she rubbed the wax on my chin she double dipped the stick yesssss!!! she put it back into the wax (that im sure they use for everything and everyone else) i asked her did she just dip that stick back into the wax .. she looked at me dumb founded i kindly said thank you but no thank you and has her to remove the wax off of my face... i asked who i assumed to be tje manager/owner was. this a common practice she also looked at me dumbfounded ..i walked out ..so if your frequently visiting this place and getting any type of wax service just know they are doubledipping soooo everyones bacteria in is that wax.... My daughters and I came here for the first time because of the location and look of the salon-BIG MISTAKE!!!!! My daughters had acrylic and a manicure and I had a pedicure. The pedicure was rough and not relaxing or pleasant at all! The acrylic nails had to be redone because the lady messed up the shape-it was like she had never done nails before! My sister and I just came here to get a manicure and an acrylic refill. Both of the women that did our nails were extremely rough and sloppy. Every time either of us commented on something, they acted like we were inconveniencing them. The shapes weren't even either. The color I previously had on my acrylics was green, and the woman working on them hadn't removed it all before putting on another coat of powder, so now i have to keep getting darker colors until I have that nail removed. She also was not apologetic after cutting my finger with the nail drill. They were not smoothed out before color was applied so now there ridges that can be seen under the color. Very happy with our experience! I was nervous bringing my 4 year old to get her nails done for the first time especially while waiting for me to get a full set. But the little kid chair they have is great and it had a little DVD player playing Frozen which of course she loved! They did her pedicure and nails right there in that chair and even let her stay there and watch it while I got my set done (even though I was on the other side of the salon. They place looks clean and employees are friendly. Got a pedi and shellac mani. They don't use hot stones on the pedi, and they don't have any fun upgrades (e.g., paraffin) and I ended up getting an infection on one of my toes. :/ They use those plastic liners for the tub and cheese graters to exfoliate. I'm not a fan of either. The lady that did my nails looked at my hot cocoa I bought at another establishment and she said they serve beverages there for free. I didn't get one, but it was offered. The shellac color menu is awkward. When I asked to get a shellac manicure with french tips, I was told they couldn't guarantee the quality of the tips. My shellac manicure was pretty standard, although I thought she could have gone much faster and the shellac got on my cuticles so a few days later they are separating at the top. The quality could have been better. I probably won't be coming back even though it is do close to my massage place. Sad. Read Less

I really liked this place. They do both the acrylic as well as colored acrylic nails. Most places I found in the area would prefer to do acrylic with gel or shellac on top. I don't like shellac on my fingers, it's great for toes, but I don't like it on my fingers. They offered a selection of acrylic colors and were able to do art on the nails as well.The lady that did my nails was very fast and didn't nick or scrape me at all. However, the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars is she rushed it so much that at the end, there was no cuticle oil or lotion or anything to finish off the hands like most locations do. I did see a couple of the other people doing the lotion and hand massage afterwards. However, my lady immediately got up and went to attend to a pedicure waiting on her. So it could be they were over booked... but I would gladly go back. They offer what I want and did a great job. They do not do gel on your toes... who doesn't do gel toenail polish? ! My pedicure was done by a very old woman who I thought was going to cut me half of the time, not a relaxing experience. My nails were done poorly by an older gentleman. They came out bulky and unattractive. At the end, I was over charged by $15, I only noticed once I compared the price I was charged to their price chart. On top of everything,  they we not friendly. I'd recommend skipping this spot. First time at the salon today. It was clean and greatly put together. However, when it came down to getting my nails done, the whole experience just sucked. I got shellac and it took longer than it should've. At first I thought ok maybe because she's taking a little longer the quality will be great. We'll it wasn't! I had shellac paint on my knuckles! She applied 5 coats of the color and they were way too thick. I have a big bubble on the side of my pinky nail. It's like she put way too much of the color and it started to drip and I had to cure it like that. It was uncomfortable the whole time because she had me put my wrists on the LED lamp and hang my fingers low.. my wrists were hurting after a while. Read Less

I normally go to a salon in Tacoma that does fantastic work. However, I was running some errands up on South Hill and decided to stop in and see if Soleil had time for a shellac manicure. With hesitation, they gentleman tells me that they can fit me in. So I sit in the chair and pick my color. The lady hardly speaks two words to me. Before she starts to paint my nails, her appointment shows up. An hour early mind you. So she rushes to finish my nails. I didn't think to inspect my nails thoroughly. I'd been to Soleil a couple of times a few years back and didn't have an issue. When I get home, I notice all sorts of imperfections. I'm irritated. Even more frustrating, my shellac didn't even last a week. Moral of the story, I should have just driven to Tacoma. Read Less

I just moved to this area, and saw this place and decided to try it. In my opinion they are not good. They are clean that is why the 2 stars. I went to get a shellac and its been 2 days and already chipping, and I got it in black and looks more watered down it is not deep color looking at all.I found them to be slightly rude, as an older lady next to me was filling out her receipt and didn't have cash, so she left a tip with the card transaction, and the woman got very rude with her saying cash! next time remember cash, don't forget. I found that extremely offensive to do that to that woman, the person should have been grateful to get a tip not brow beat the woman and she seemed visibly upset but being told how to tip. When I payed they stood over me watching me fill in the tip section as it was my first time there so I didn't know about the cash preference, I don't appreciate being stood over and basically forced to tip, when I was not happy with the service.They are more money then most places, and when they aren't even doing it well I'm not pleased. I like that the salon is clean, and up to date seemingly. I didn't like that my lady was in a hurry. I'm pretty sure she broke a sweat trying to rush through my manicure to get to the next client. It was my first time coming in and I went in because I wanted to get my nails done for valentine's day. I got a pedicure and acrylics with a design. It was slow at first, and then the afternoon hit and it got pretty busy. I can understand it's hard trying to fit pelion and etc. However I wished they had not rushed my nails. I asked for a heart design which I assumed was simple, I didn't want to ask for too much, but it wasn't the way I expected. It was done in a sloppy way and I'm disappointed that I wasted my money, but it happens. I happened across this place last year when I went to staples. They did a good job & the woman was nice. Loved the seahawk design she did for me. So I decided to make the long drive back.When I got there it was pretty busy as are most good nail salons, told them what I needed. They asked me to come back in an hr. I sat in my hot car patiently waiting. When I came back in I was happy they sat me down to startMy nails. When I asked them how much for the fill, design & toes painted. They told me all they could do was a FILL? Nothing more. Are you kidding me?! I can get a fill ANYWHERE! If that was the case, why on earth wouldn't you tell me that BEFORE YOU HAD ME WAIT AN HR?! I wish I would have gotten the name of the lady who did my mani/pedi. She was horrible!! She doesn't/can't properly shape nails. I asked her to trim my nails to the same length. She trimmed 7 of them, but left 3 really long. When it came to shaping some of them were noticeably slanted, while the others were shaped as square and oval. I asked her to fix them and she made them worse! I had to file my own nails once she was done and my nails were dry. I still can't believe how bad this lady was! In all my mani/pedi took about 35 minutes to complete and she did them separately. She really skipped through most of the service. The massage was just bad. It basically consisted of her slapping my legs for 3 minutes. She barely scrubbed my feet, and the water was cold for both services. I'm giving them two stars because my mom received an amazing mani/pedi. The lady was thorough and took her time. Both of our services started at the same time, but my last service ended just as my moms last service was beginning. What really irked me was when she and the other lady discussed the tip I left. They were working out who got what right in front of me.Oh and don't ask them for designs they don't have the talent for them. I asked for a simple jack o'latern design for my niece's big toe and I even brought a picture of one, but what she ended up getting was a shaky smiley face. Read Less
