I got a perm there 8 days ago I was trying to get curls I was very very clear about that the girl said ok I assume because she's working in a salon she knows what she's doing I left almost in tears after she fried and burnt my hair crispy and charged me $100. she left the perm solution on for 20 mins then had me sit under the dryer for another 5 before rinsing it and then she tried to style it with product tho cover up the damage and used a blow dryer I had enough I chose to get up after another stylist commented that my hair must have been overprocessed before the perm the girl doing my hair didn't even offer to fix it she took my money and went on to her next client, I cried the hour drive home ruined my whole day week and month Read Less

When we moved here from Sacramento, needed a ref and was given Shear Elegance.  That was back in 2002! Still with them, and yes, we've had a couple "not so goods", but who wouldn' t have an off day?  I'd been to 7 other salons in search for my "go-to ", and they are the best for me. Just about all the ladies have groomed me, so it's not like I'm favoring!  This team is pleasant, kind, cheerful and sincere in their service promise "let me know if you have any problems"!  This is one of those "trusted" salons and I'd recommend to anyone looking for qualified stylists.  Carry on. I have been traveling in our RV from California up the west coast to the Olympic Peninsula.   After many weeks I was desperate for a haircut.  I walked into Shear Elegance and made an appointment with the owner, Tracy for the next morning.  I can't tell you how pleased I was with her haircut and how eager she was to please me.  Often when traveling you find stylists that don't really care as they know you won't be returning.  Every day I look in the mirror and wish I had Tracy as my regular stylist.  Thanks Tracy for a great haircut and your friendly positive attitude.  I highly recommend giving Tracy a chance to please as I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I joined Yelp just so I could write this review.  I had the worst hair cut of my live on May 9, 2016 by Nikki at Shear Elegance.  I wear my hair in a semi-short conservative style.  I asked Nikki to cut my hair accordingly.  Nikki grabbed a pair of shears and in 10 minutes had cut off most of my hair.  I had much better hair cuts in the military.  My hair was almost to the scalp on the side of my head and pointy on the top of my head.  When I said something to Nikki about these she offered to try and adjust it but I declined.  I wanted to keep what little hair I had left.  I went in for a trim and came out with a bad military hair cut.  Nikki is a nice girl, she just shouldn't be cutting hair.  Avoid this place at all costs. I had been a customer for years until today 12/30/15. Booked an apt with the owners daughter 2 days ago. Then I show up 3 minutes until my apt and I see my stylist take a customer. She didn't even bother to say I'm sorry. I asked and was told she would be a minute. 15 minutes after I asked I got up and asked my stylist if maybe she was too busy for my apt and she responded with a huge attitude and explained she was behind. I explained that maybe she was too busy for my apt, she replied with attitude and not even an apology. I guess they don't need my business or recommendations in the future. Read Less

*This review is for men's haircut* when we first moved to Port Angeles, my husband tried pretty much all of the hair salons in town and still couldn't find a decent stylist. But he did choose to go see Michelle here and continued until we moved out of state. He also hour his brows waxed each time he went for a haircut and was always satisfied. Scheduling with Michelle can be a bit hard because she only works two days a week, but it shouldn't be an issue if you book accordingly. Read Less
