I asked to get natural looking highlights and almost my whole hair turned out white and completely destroyed.. they told me to wait a couple of days to see if I would “get used to it” ... I didn’t ... went back and she put a toner in my hair to make it 2 shades darker and it turned out GRAY I was very disappointed and sad. She told me the gray would wash off after 4 washes and it did ... now my hair looks white again and it’s falling off from the roots and my ends are falling off as well.. my hair was a long bob and now it’s a lot shorter and it looks very unhealthy... they are amazing people and I love them I’m just not going back there to get my hair done ever again. Have been here a few times now, the staff has been friendly and does a really good job at reasonable prices. Gotten my hair cut, and mani/pedí. My husband as well, plus the fur on his ear removed (wax). Typical massage chairs for pedis.  Better than some of the other salons on the Westside that I visited. Their english is quite good. I was traveling through the area on vacation and needed a quick cut and color as I have shorthair. Folks at the salon were very welcoming, easy to book an appointment with and friendly. I came prepared with my color formula and notes from my previous hairdresser on my cut but felt it was almost unnecessary thanks to be experienced staff. I have to admit I was a little nervous coming to the salon as it is not the type that I usually frequent at home but thanks to yelp I was convinced otherwise and glad I tried it. if I lived in the area I would consider making this my regular salon. I was expecting more from reading the reviews.  I went for a much needed pedicure.  The floors were dirty, the equipment very old and outdated.  Several of the workers were sitting around eating their lunch at the nail stations.  I was served tea and stale pretzels.  Tea was a nice idea, stale pretzels not so much.  Will be looking for another place to go. Sun Hair & Nail Salon was the second place I was to visit to try to get an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they actually had enough space to accommodate more than a couple customers. They took me right in and set me up with hot tea and a snack. Very pleasant staff. I decided to opt for both a pedicure which is what I came for, and a manicure which I rarely get. Yvette introduced herself and she was the one who did my manicure. Yvette did an exceptional job as did the other woman who did my pedicure. Yvette suggested the gel which would last longer. I come here all the time for haircuts. For guys the price is $15 so it's a pretty solid deal especially for the outcome of Yvonne's cut. I've been going to her for roughly 3 years on and off. The off is mainly just bc I like checking new places often but I always end up coming back to Yvonne because nobody can do it right like she does. She takes just the right amount of time on my hair, never too long. Even when I try asking her to do something new, she adjusts real quickly. But trust me, I'm very particular when it comes to my hair and I can easily put 100% of my trust into Yvonne. They accept debit and credit. They always serve you a glass of hot tea like within the first minute you enter the store and sometimes snacks like cookies or candy. Definitely recommend making an appointment with Yvonne bc even though they are walk-in, she gets asked for by a lot of people so it's just a better way to get someone you're comfortable with. The photos on the left are the haircut and color I asked for. On the right is what I ended up with. $215 is what this cost me to have my hair destroyed after asking repeatedly if this would work on my hair and being told yes just trust her, don't worry she does this all the time, she knows what she's doing etc... I'm afraid to go back there and have it look worse than it does now to have it fixed, my hair can't go through another process, it already feels like hay from being dyed and toned for 3 hours. On a whim I had a few hours to spare and saw this place and decided to go for it. I was impressed with the hot tea and friendly service.I have really thick hair and lots of it, so wet cuts never work out well for me with all my volume and wave. I base my opinion on a salon with professionals who can do a fantastic dry cut. I had a great time, and had a stylist who didn't balk at the challenge of thinning out a third of my hair just for manageability. So I came in around 6:00pm and it wasn't super busy. I was kind of excited. Sat down, they gave me tea and cookies. Next thing I know it, the lady doing my nails cuts my cuticles too short.. not just one but two cuticles on my left hand. The lady who applied the nail polish coat was polite and kept apologizing, but tried to apply nail polish on my finger nail that's obviously not going to stop bleeding anytime soon. I love where I normally go but said, why not check out this place - my go-to salon was BUSY!!! Soooo.... I called and made an appointment for my daughter and I. Got there early and told them we were here for our pedicures but I know we are early and don't mind waiting, the woman at the front says, "well... you're going to have to wait, you're early" ... Mmmmm, yeah... I said that already! We get to the back... OK, one... they must water down their nail polish remover! I mean I know I had gel on, but NEVER had I ever had so many people to try and remove my nail polish... (We'll get to my kid later!) ... Didn't even really do much as far as cutting cuticles, trimming the skin around the nail, scrubbing, etc. I felt like they were rushing me cause "a big crowd came in"... After the half-job with the nail polish removal (there was still remnants on my nails), they just pretty much painted over them. The seconds on the UV light couldn't count down fast enough before they were telling me I was done! Wait a minute!!! You didn't use the pumice to scrub my feet, you didn't even really massage my legs or feet (the main reason you get the pedicure, right?) Then you are telling me that somehow booking online got messed up and now you can't accommodate everyone?!? That isn't my fault... Why should you rush me because there was a mistake with your online booking system! Mmmm, how about take care of the people that are sitting in the chairs, they are going to be a definite paying customer right??? The woman next to me even said, "I'd like to have my toes finished first before you rush me out of here." Then there's my kid... OK, they didn't massage her legs/feet (the only reason she really likes going...!), Painted her nails so bad, the shellac started coming off the next day - HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO HER BEFORE - If I'm paying "adult" price for her pedicure, you better give her a good pedicure!!! That's the expectation, right??? Ohhhh, then I get my eyebrows waxed. I tell the woman, "you have to remove my eyebrow makeup so you can see my eyebrows." She insists, I can see them, no need... Get home, wash my face: SURPRISE! My eyebrows are uneven and one hairier  than they other!!!! EXACTLY WHY I TOLD HER TO REMOVE MY EYEBROW MAKEUP!!!Just did NOT like this place! Will NEVER go back!!! This seems like a happy, healthy workplace - these things are important to me - and the staff are patient and attentive. I never feel rushed. The salon is also well ventilated, which may be unique among nail spas. I very much enjoy having a pedicure without the heavy chemical smell that seems to haunt other places. This is by far the best salon in Olympia! I have been going to Yvonne for the past 5 years for all my hair cut, hair color, hairstyling/fancy up-dos, and waxing and I have NEVER been disappointed!  She is always upbeat, sweet, and helps me brainstorm on what to do next with my hair.  She has seen me through super long hair, then helped me get through the time that I donated it and chopped off 10 plus inches and sported the A-line bob, and back to long hair again.   The staff is always friendly, professional, and helpful.  An added bonus is that they  will set you up with some hot or iced tea (depending on the season.)  Thank you Yvonne and Sun Salon! 2nd pedicure of my life, and this is a charming salon with charming staff. I dance and train barefoot several times a week, so my feet need the love. I'm also ticklish and shy about having my feet touched, and appreciated the gentle, kind manner of my pedicurist today. $25 (+ tip) awarded me a foot soak, light callous and cuticle care, aromatic sea salt scrub, lotion and basic polish application. Well, I wanted to try a new place and this one has a bunch of 5 stars!!! I will never go back. The bathroom was filthy and the nail salon wasn't much better, the gal doing my toes was obviously new and she kept getting to much skin with the clippers, then one of them had their 5 year old or so in the screaming and playing, the ladies keep telling him to quiet down or they will call the cops on him so then he cries no, no, no for the next 10 minutes and then back to his normal screaming! Next, I asked for French....they are uneven and look mediocre at best but the girl was nervous and new and so sweet so i couldn't say anything. Then last but not least their board say $20 yet I got charged $25! I will never go back... I go to relax and be pampered not to leave stressed and aggravated and $25 bucks poorer!!! Never go back!!! This is my first time to this salon. It is a warm, welcoming, family style environment. It does get busy, so allow yourself time, don't come in a rush. My daughter is 3, and they painted her toes and hands patiently. The gave complimentary cookies, apples, and tea. I got a classic mani pedi, and they cleaned up my hands and toes well. Although I'm usually not in the area, I come back to this salon for their service, fair prices, and great pedicures. They don't oversell or tack on services without asking.
