This salon has gotten a bad rap which I feel is undeserved. Many changes are being made starting with letting go techs that didn't perform to the owner's standards.

This salon has gotten a bad rap which I feel is undeserved. Many changes are being made starting with letting go techs that didn't perform to the owner's standards.
The wait can be long but there are only 3 techs at this time but she's continually seeking talented nail techs that who perform at her standards.
There are new lines of product, including organic dipping powders, many gel colors and updated nail polishes. She does a great job on lash extensions and the facial was divine.
As for the language barrier... I have Vietnamese family members and their culture is very different. Prolonged eye contact is considered rude. Limited vocabulary makes communicating difficult at.times but hey, it's a nail salon I go there because they do a great job, my nails are beautiful! I love love that they file the acrylic thin. I can pick up a coin with my nails lol those of you with acrylics understand that challenge.
I don't think they deserve the Google rating they have and I'm giving 5 stars

Went here for Valentine's gift for me and my boyfriend. Had appointment for both of us. Staff ignored by boyfriend completely, even tho I told staff 3 times he was here for pedicure as well. He sat for over an hour and no one even made eye contact with him. Prices are high. I will never go there again.

No No and No! Could not be a worse or dirtier nail salon on the planet! Zero hygiene practices are used here.. A quick squirt of plain water in the pedicure tub does not sanitize it!! Implements used...
No No and No! Could not be a worse or dirtier nail salon on the planet! Zero hygiene practices are used here.. A quick squirt of plain water in the pedicure tub does not sanitize it!! Implements used for cutting cuticles, trimming nails etc. are not sanitized, they go from one client to the next without sanitation. Nail techs don't even wash their hands when leaving the restroom and go right to doing your nails!

Worst f***ing place ever I got a big part of my eyebrow waxed off that wasn't supposed to be right in the middle of my face. Now I have to walk around with a noticeable bald spot. Customer service was horrible the guy just walked off without telling me that he was done so I set there and he was already working on someone else without charging me.

I live in Illinois and I'm out here visiting my fiancé who's in the Navy. And I wanted to get my nails done for a wedding we're attending this week. First time here and all I wanted was Pink and White acrylic set. Pretty simple it seemed. Not. The lady was very rough with my hands and fingers. Messed up my nails. They're not all the same shape. They're all filed at different angles. There's indents all on top of my nails. Some of my fingers hurt from over filing. Definitely not impressed at all. I would not go here. Also usually it only takes 30-45 minutes maybe to get nails done. I sat getting my nails done for an hour and a half just for them to be terrible. If I ever come back out here and want my nails done I will NOT come here! I suggest going somewhere else.

The owners have changed I believe, the energy in this place is not the same, an older woman and the lady I haven't seen before that was giving my pedicure talked about the two gentlemen workers the whole time, I've been coming here for months I was the only one here this time and no one else can in! Normally around 3 pm this place is really busy, I can tell by the tension between the staff members that's why the customer service went down, sadly I won't come back, also the older lady does not speak English I was asking her something repeatedly while she was trying to put my saddles on and I realized later she couldn't understand me.I was almost done with my pedicure when they started to get to my manicure, he filled my nails, then I waited 30 minutes before he actually gave me my pedicure, mean while 2 other guest came in, this gentleman next to me is repeatedly asking the older lady that doesn't speak English to make he's water hotter cause it's cold, she keeps saying okay, but doesn't get it, I had to ask the lady doing my toes to tell the older lady to make his water hotter, needless to say it was so uncomfortable for everyone!!!! And not worth the price!

Island Nails & Spa is wonderful! I've been there twice now. My tech is very thorough and makes sure that my gel nails look perfect. My pedicure was also great. The prices are VERY reasonable! We had great conversation the whole time she was doing my nails. I moved this area 6 months ago and I've finally found my new regular spot. :)

This place is great. Went almost a year ago and liked it! Everyone who works there is really nice and they take their time with your nails and do a beautiful job. They have a really nice, well-organized selection of OPI polishes, so it's easy to pick your colors. it's also reasonably priced and my nails look great.

This salon has gotten a bad rap which I feel is undeserved. Many changes are being made starting with letting go techs that didn't perform to the owner's standards.
The wait can be long but there are only 3 techs at this time but she's continually seeking talented nail techs that who perform at her standards.
There are new lines of product, including organic dipping powders, many gel colors and updated nail polishes. She does a great job on lash extensions and the facial was divine.

He sat for over an hour and no one even made eye contact with him. Prices are high. I will never go there again.

We had great conversation the whole time she was doing my nails. I moved this area 6 months ago and I've finally found my new regular spot. :)

This place is great. Went almost a year ago and liked it! Everyone who works there is really nice and they take their time with your nails and do a beautiful job. They have a really nice, well-organized selection of OPI polishes, so it's easy to pick your colors. it's also reasonably priced and my nails look great.
