This was my first time here. I am so impressed. Kevin is amazing! He spent so much time and care on my feet. They were in bad shape when I walked in and so soft when I left. Of I could put a negative star I would. They cut they my natural nail, making it bleed. cut the nails weird and different and ground down my nails after I asked her not to. I left without acrylic being put in and was still charged. I went to Bellas nails by ace and they are amazing took time and really made me love my nails today. VIP nails rushed me thru the small.bit I was there thou no-one else came while I was there but a pedi. I wanted to like this place, I really did! But unfortunately after my horrendous hair color experience, I have to stay I will not be going back to this place, nor would I recommend it to anyone. I absolutely love this place. Luxury feels while getting glamorous hair. Heather Smith is my hair stylist and has been for years. I won't see anyone else. She is a master colorist and she absolutely saved my hair from critical condition when it was burnt off in a bleach bath a few years ago. It took a while to get my hair back to normal and because of Heather it is now healthy, soft, and growing. Everyone that works here treats you like royalty. The owner is so wonderfully hu...mble and nice. It is clear that she cares not only for the salon but her employees as well as every single client. I've tried this salon numerous times over the last several years and have never been truly satisfied. I only tried it again because it is close to my house and I had many things to do on Friday. The people are nice enough and the equipment is good, but the work is always sub par. Got a shellac manicure on Friday for $25. I pay $18-20 elsewhere. I got no massage she just put some Lotion in my arms, I asked several times if she'd trim my cuticles better and she would cut like one. My cuticles are all dry and  the polish itself is bumpy. I came here after a recommendation from someone else. Terrible experience. I got a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure was fine except the mask they put on my shins burned and when I had them take if off I was lectured about how I shouldn't shave before coming...never been an issue for me at other salons before. The rest of the pedicure went fine. The manicure is where it all went wrong. The woman was yelling across the salon (mind you it was completely empty) and one of the other workers obviously making fun of a boy who came in and asked to hang up a flyer. Then at the end I noticed how all my nails were basically glued to the skin below. I asked her to file them and she acted very incovenienced. Then she started to file bumps on top of the nail and so my dark maroon nails are all scratched.Got home and noticed another spot where the nail Polish was on my skin so I started to pick with it a little bit, off came an entire strip of nail polish. 70% of my nails have chipped off already and I got it done 30 minutes ago. The only reason I will go back is to have them fix my nails!I arrived at 4:45 pm yesterday (9/15) for a mani - pedi, was seated within 5 minutes. The ladies were nice enough, but of course they talked amongst themselves without conversing with me, the client.The first issue I have is the fact they cut me on several figures while filing and attending to my cuticles. Next, the nail polish was bubbled on almost every single finger. When I asked the gal to touch up the polish since it was bubbled and not even close to covering my entire nail, she did 1 brush stroke on one nail, and said it was good.I didn't get out of there until 615pm, and that was with my hands and feet being done at the same time. I went to sechoir because I am a bridesmaid for a friends wedding. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. My hair is naturally very curly and frizzy and most people struggle to deal with it. I booked with waleed the senior stylist who recommended that I do a glaze since my hair is so dry. I was anxious to see the results but honestly the blow out couldn't have left my hair more voluminous, silky and glamorous. Waleed was so professional, friendly and really ma...de you feel like you were being pampered because he really took his time with you. I also spoke to Heba the manager who has a great spirit and you can see how her unique vision has set the place apart. The whole salon has an incredible vibe, it looks luxurious without being pretentious and all the staff are warm and welcoming. The receptionist and waleed both asked if I wanted anything to drink and there were also French macaroons to eat! They use very high quality products and the music playlist adds a cool ambience to the place. I don't understand how VIP Nails and Spa could have 2.5 stars on Yelp and another Lake Stevens Salon that I visited a few months back had nearly 5 stars, and it was awful.Anyhow. I walked in today for my first visit ever (Saturday) without an appointment. My first impression - clean, nicely arranged, not too many tchotchkes (haha). They were very busy, but had a couple pedicure chairs open and immediately showed me to a chair to soak my feet while the finished others. The water was warm. I say this because at the other local salon the water was cold. The pedicure chair was very comfortable. It was clean and in good condition in comparison to other places I have been. The massage that it provided was nice. I am happy with the way my toes turned out. I also got a basic manicure. Total for the two services was $30 before tip. A bargain in my book! Read Less

I will never, ever go to this place again!  I went for the first time last Thursday for a shellac manicure and four of my nails have already broken.  That and the manicure looks about three weeks old.  This is the worst I've ever had and I have a wedding to go to this weekend with really short nails now.  Terrible, horrible!! I've gone to this place for a couple years and never had any issues until today. They are usually quick and efficient and the cost is great. I went in for a manicure and pedicure which according to their price board was $30. The gal asked if I wanted the shellec manicure and made it seem as if it would just a be a little bit more. I should have asked how much more. It added $18 to the $30 price. Really? She muttered something about how she should have told me beforehand. Ya think?! Awful! I got a shellac manicure requesting only shellac brand products. They used a gelish clear coat anyway and pretended to not understand when I called them on it. 2 hours later I had 2 cracks in my shellac nail polish. Not happy. Within 3 days it was chipping off all my nails.I got a polish change on my toes at the same time. It chipped faster than my toes ever have. When I removed the polish at home it was extremely easy to remove as opposed to other salons I feel like I need to soak it off. There is definetly a level of quality lacking in the products. I'm done trying this place.  Last time I went I told them I had arthritis in my hand joints so to be careful.  They weren't.  This time I told them again, "I need you to be very gentle as I have arthritis in my hands.  I also am just getting over an infection in this finger, so please be very careful."  Again, I don't think she believed me because she made me jump with pain on that finger.  Then, when she hurt it again and I jumped, she said, "oh, like a baby."Nice enough people, but don't listen to the customer.I'm done. I have been coming here for four years and have no complaints. They are clean, fast, do a good job and also give stamp cards so you can earn a free service. This is just asgood as any other nail salon that gets you in and out but in my opinion, better vecause its newer and clean. Omg....worst pedi ever....first..sit in water for 45 min...which I can handle with a gf..no biggy right..but then she comes over cuts me five times...does a two second scrub and polish..she cleaned the tub and the floor.while I sat in my chair still!! Totally rude!!!! Gf next to me same thing..only she had the pleasure of a broken chair and a nail tech that did five other things (check someone out..answer phone...do flowers on another customer ect.)
