I waited a while to write this review so that I could be fair. At first I, too, thought I'd finally found a place I liked and my searching could end. My hair stylist did a great job the first time and spent a lot of time with me so I was able to overlook the fact that I was on time and she was running a little late. I felt great when I left. When I went back to get my roots touched up, by her, everything went very smooth. I did think it was a little strange that she was working on someone else's hair at the same time but it didn't interfere and it was near the holidays. The third time I went back, it was not convenient to make an appointment online, like usual. The gal I wanted to request didn't have appointments on the same days as before - I think there was a glitch or she changed her hours. I finally found a time that worked for me but it was right after work. I made sure to be on time, if not a little early because my work is far away. I did get there early. I sat down and was greeted by another lady that worked there while the person I had an appointment with was working on someone else and I found it odd that she didn't greet me. Some time went by and the owner greeted me, too. Still... nothing from the person I requested. I was practically falling asleep. Both owner and the other gal that greeted me didn't have anyone right then. In fact, one of them was complaining how she had been stood up by her client that wanted a lengthy process done. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I thought if it was 10 min or more after my appointment time then I would try to find out how much more time or see if we could reschedule. Since I left my phone at home, I had to go afraid the hall to check the time. It was almost 20 minutes past my appointment time (18 minutes to be exact)! The thought of continuing to wait until she was ready and then having to wait another hour plus was too much. I went back to grab my stuff and told them I was leaving. I started feeling terrible that maybe I had messed up the time on my way home. Perhaps it was a half hour later than I thought and I felt like a jerk. When I got home, I checked my appointment message and I had been correct. I was irritated enough that I sent an email, especially because the reminder email said they care or something like that and it felt like the very opposite. I got an email back from the person I had the appointment with and it was not an apology. It mentioned disrespect of time but it was more focused on how much pride she takes in her work. I was floored. It's a shame, she did a good job but I can't go back. Also, I wasn't crazy about the facial I had there. I just don't dig when they use Dermalogica products during a facial and then try to force them on you later. It did make my skin feel better but not worth it in my mind. In summary, won't be back but can't really fault the services, just maybe the customer service part of it. Read Less

My wife made an appointment days in advance for my 2 daughters. They called her back later and asked for us to push our appointment back 1 hour which was already an inconvenience and unprofessional, but things happen. Then we show up on time, only to be told we have to wait for 2 girls “with long hair that can’t just be chopped off” in front of us. They woman who spoke to us, presumably the owner or manager treated us like it was our problem that they were behind, and her best solution was for us to come back later or another day. I asked why one of the other stylists couldn’t help us and was told they were all booked up, which was interesting and insulting since we had an appointment as well. Apparently we couldn’t be worked in, or no other creative solution was available. Maybe they wouldn’t be so far behind if they were more flexible or worked as a team. I went to Salon Michelle with the worst haircut of my life from another place, which I will not name to take away from the AMAZING transformation Katie did for me!!! I had horrible trust issues since having my hair butchered(as in a woman shaved a third of my head butchered!) weeks early. I feel like Katie knew EXACTLY what I wanted, what I was going through, and she salvaged my hair! I was shocked at how great my hair looked and it made me feel so good about myself! I will no longer trust anyone with my hair other than Katie! If you've had trust issues with stylists, been looking for a stylist in general, or don't know who to go to GO TO SALON MICHELLE AND ASK FOR KATIE! Read Less

Michelle and her staff are hard working and provide great customer service. Michelle works fast and does fantastic hair cuts on my son, who has trouble sitting any length of time. Michelle, has also done research and has found a hair color that wears long and doesn't fade out for me. I got my haircut here by a gal named Katie and she did a fantastic job!!! It had been over a year since my last haircut and was looking for a new salon/stylist. I was able to get a same day hair cut for my young daughter using their online booking via the website. my daughter wanted a bob hair cut after only having very long hair. Her stylist took her time and make sure it was very even. I have a very happy little girl and that makes me a happy mom. She looks great! Read Less

The art work Jenny does on my gel polished nails is amazing to say the least & lasts for over 3 weeks. Paula is definitely gentle when it comes to sugaring & waxing too. I enjoyed Salon Michelle. Jenny did my nails (shellac manicure) and the art is absolutely fantastic no doubt. But it's only been a week and a half and 3 of my nails broke and the paint started chipping when I was told it'd last 3 weeks.I get my nails done periodically because I work in retail and I get dry skin and my nails get dirty a lot. So the $25 shellac manicures I've gotten at other places usually always last 2 full weeks or more, never chip, and I've never had my nails break. I feel like Jenny could've spent more time cleaning up my nails and skin, made me feel more pampered (especially for the price) and maybe not have me sit in such an uncomfortable chair. I chose Salon Michelle because I was told it'd be a very relaxing and pampering experience. But I did not feel that at all.I will return but maybe for my wedding or a nice occasion where Jenny's beautiful artistic skills can come in handy. Read Less

Christina has been doing my hair for years and I've always been more than pleased with the results. She is phenomenal and knowledgable in all aspects of hair and beauty. She is the total package, amazing skills and sparkling personality. I look forward to every appointment with her! Also had a brazillian wax done by Jill. She used a technique called sugaring. I've never had this done before, and I have to say I'm very impressed! The whole process was less painful than usual and also didn't sting as much afterward. I was told it doesn't remove the first layer of skin like regular waxing, so I'm guessing that's why. I'll definitely be back for my next waxing service! Read Less

I am surprised to see a couple of bad reviews on here as my experience at Salon Michelle has always been more than excellent. I get my hair done by Christina and she definitely has a natural knack for doing hair. I have long, curly, frizzy, unruly hair and she has mastered the art of cutting/coloring/styling it in a way that is functional and workable on a daily basis. I wouldn't recommend this place at all! I called ahead and requested someone that knew how to work with unruly temperamental long hair, cause let's face it, I have all three of those things. So the woman scheduled me with someone who I could have only assumed to be someone who could handle my hair. Mind you, I have never been to this place and was in need of something new. I show up 10 minutes to 9, which, my appointment was at 9 and the doors are locked and no lights are on. Maybe I'm just a little bit of a stickler, but if someone is scheduled for an appointment at 9, a representative should be there at least a half hour before the doors open to offer some sort of guidance or customer service. I'm thinking the person who let me in after 9 am was the owner cause her name was Michelle. Then she asked if I had been in before, and I said no, and she began trying to make excuses for the stylist who was supposed to be doing my hair. BAD ALL AROUND! So the stylist shows up, and she has admitted to only be in the business for just over two years. Not what I expected for experience for my mess of hair. This girl was probably the most unfriendly, non-gentle person I have encountered in the salon industry. She scrubbed my scalp like she was trying to scrape the skin off of it, she yanked me hair roughly the WHOLE time when she was brushing my hair and she razored my hair the whole time. She literally used her scissors three times till she dropped them on the floor. By the time I got home and was able to inspect my hair thoroughly, I wanted to cry. Yes, I wanted to cry. My hair is one of my best features that I pride myself on. my hair was very uneven, I had to trim back a chunk because it was so noticeable, not to mention the thinned out bottom layer on the right side of my head that now just appears as a thin layer of frizz. I am floored that she is even a stylist with the lack of compassion and customer service she has. Especially being greeted by an owner withe excuses for her employee and saying "she's always late." I love this place. I grew up w/ a hair dresser mom and never let anyone else touch my hair. I trust Christina and Salon Michelle. She fixed my highlights after not having them done for almost a year (possibly longer) and they looked great! *PLEASE READ* I have never IN MY WHOLE LIFE been treated SO rudely before! The owner "MICHELLE" of the salon was a complete b**ch! First warning was when I called she quoted me $100.00- even though I mentioned my hair is long and thick. She said NO consultation was needed. I arrived and price was $160. Threatening to walk out she honored it. I had pretty blonde hair color- they said they hated bright blondes,(RUDE!) 2nd warning. 3rd warning: I called day after hair was done, my fiance could not believe the crap job they did- and owner was really mean and rude. Cruel actually saying my hair color before was 'yellow' I am sorry but no it was not! (It was platinum) Now my hair is ashy and she said it was MY fault it was ashy. Because of my color being blonde hair. How is that MY fault you can't do hair? NEVER EVER EVER GO HERE! I am reviewing on every site I go to, save your hair! DON"T GO HERE! **ELLE MARIE IS WAAAAAY BETTER**In response to below: There was NO 3 attempts to correct my hair (!!!) and it was not done for free- I paid, and NO apology - nice try, but the owner's response is a flat out LIE. I am new to the area from DC and decided to try Salon Michelle, I was so pleased with the salon. It has a nice environment, lots of big windows, clean and modern. I was welcomed and given something to drink and felt very comfortable. I had my hair colored and cut by Leah and she did a great job.  I am looking forward to going back. Read Less
