Awful service. My sister and I went there 2 weeks ago for an acrylic fill. I have had 4 nails break off already, I had them almond shape and after the 3rd day I had to file them myself shorter and to an oval shape because the tips kept breaking off. Since then I have broken 4 nails off completely. My sister asked for a teal ombre, they gave her a pink ombre, and still made her pay full price for something she did not want. We did not have time for them to repaint them a plain color. They do not build up the end of the nails as they should, they only fill in the regrowth and that is it. The nails are so thin that doing the littlest things during the day makes them snap off. Awful place and awful customer service, DO NOT RECOMMEND and I will never being going back. Read Less

I'm not a slave to perfectly painted gel/shellac nails.  I just like a good manicure done every now and again when I have a special event or am going out of town.  Trying to find a decent manicure locally has been a challenge.....all I want is a good cuticle nipping, and a manicure that lasts longer than a few days that doesn't chip. Nail and Spa fits the bill!  Clean facility and competent technicians.  I've been a half a dozen times to Nail and Spa and tried various ladies.   All deliver a decent manicure.  I have my favorite - Lee - but all of the ladies do a nice job.  The pedicure chairs are amazing!  They have at least a dozen of them, all high end.   A comfortable and extremely relaxing experience.  I had a "cheese grater" used on my feet to scale down calluses.  Odd, I thought at first....but wow......my feet felt smooth and pretty.  They are generally always busy, which is a good sign.  Book an appointment!  Walk ins are welcome, but if you don't want to wait during peak hours, call ahead.  Overall, they do a nice job at a decent price.  I'll always be on the eternal hunt for a 5 star salon but right now, I'm happy with Nail and Spa. Avoid this place, especially for SNS. My nails were ground down so bad that I had to ice my nails that night I got them on from the pain. It litterally kept me from sleeping. Not only did it hurt, but look aweful. The Polish was uneven, extremely thick in some places, and wrinkled like if you touched your nails before they dried all the way. They offered to redo them before I left, but I had already been there for 1.5 hours and had to get home to my toddler. When I returned to have then removed I was told it was my fault and that it's very common for it to hurt the first time you get it. First of all, it shouldn't hurt and secondly why wouldn't they warn customers? I paid $75 for my nails and they looked bad and hurt and this did not include a massage. I don't have a picture because I got them taken off. If you do go here DO NOT let them grind you nail with the drill tool! Also, this place is not clean. This place is HORRIBLE! I went in to have my acrylic nails removed. They stuck a cuticle tool under the edge of the acrylic and started to pry the nails off. I asked her to stop, and asked why she wasn't soaking them off with acetone. She tried to convince me that the proper way to remove them was to pry the nails off. It was very uncomfortable and painful, not to mention that my natural nails were extremely damaged for months afterwards. I also had some waxing done and they ...didn't use a new stick to apply the wax each time. Pores often bleed during the waxing process and they also do bikini waxes, therefore contaminating the wax with God knows what! I'm glad I didn't catch hep-C! This place is very unprofessional and uneducated. They don't care about the health of your nails or body. Just getting you in and out as quickly as possible! the service is amazing, they are very nice and listen. however the nails are the worst quality. I got acrylics (twice) both times nails started to break off within a week of the appointment. for the price of the nails, Id expect a lot more. downtown Ottawa salons are still my go to for me. This is the third time I've gone there but it will be the last time. The first two times I went there I had a good technician but the last time I was there the technician filed my nail so far down on the side that the quick is showing and now it's painful. I was going to go ask for a refund but after reading other's reviews I'm not going to waste my time. I've spent a lot of money there and the manager at the front is such a rush to get the next person in the seat. The technician forgot to oil my nails and just left without saying anything and the manager was pissed that I was still sitting there. How dare I? Customer service is very important in any service industry but the manager certainly doesn't have that. They'll never be getting my business again unless they give me a refund and fix my nails. "This place is horrible! It was my first and last visit here. As soon I walked in, there was a distinctive smell. I soon realized that the smell came from the toilet that was overflowing. Disgusting, there was feces flooding. I kept my cool anyways, but I think they should have closed the salon temporarily. It was recommended to me to try a dip powder manicure, and this is one of the only places in the area that offered them on short notice. I walked in and was helped pretty efficiently, which was nice. The girls that I interacted with were all sweet as well. I did notice that the station they had me sit at had a dirty towel (like nail clippings and dead skin from a previous person) and I had to request a clean one. I also noticed that behind the desks that the manicures take place, they had a pile of tow separators on a super dusty cable box-- that they continued to use for people! While doing my manicure, the girl answered the phone to "make appointments" maybe three times and she would hang up and just keep on with my service... so, really, there's no need to call and make an appointment. They don't write them down. I don't know if this is standard with the dip mani, but I had to request to have cuticle work done AND was charged extra for it. There was also no massage. The manicure itself ended up really nice and lasted much better than gel. I'm definitely not sold on this nail salon though, will continue to shop around to find someone else to do my dip as it was unclean, unprofessional (not keeping an appointment book but pretending they do) and nickel and diming for cuticle work. I got there at 515 and let them know i had an appt and the lady tells me " sorry you are gonna wait 30-45 minutes".. I waited half the time and while waiting other people were being helped. I than decided to call around to other close by nail salons . As soon as the lady heard me talking to Fabulash she tells me " You don't have to wait anymore you can come sit over here ", by that time I was already annoyed that I made an appt and was waiting 40 minutes and only decided to help me because she heard the call. I told her to forget it and left. 1 month later I decided to give it another try. I walked in this time and was helped by a lady who seemed very unhappy( Not the same one as the first time) . She was rushing to get my pedicure done, she was washing/scrubbing where you sink your feet in with chemicals while another lady she brought over was putting the nail polish on my feet. As soon as she got done painting my toes she put my sandals and said you done $23 at front. Iv been to a few salons through out my life and they usually have you wait a few minutes after they are done to make sure the nail polish is dry enough to be able to walk and it not smear. Well as soon as I got up the nail polish got smeared everywhere. I didn't bother telling them because the lady who helped me was being really rude for no reason.Read Less

This place is AWESOME! Almost perfect even. I came in for a fill, pedicure(reg) and eyebrow waxing on a Friday afternoon right after work. Made an appointment for the same day and when I walked in I picked a color right away and they started going to work. Yes they! Because I had not 1 but 2 gals doing my nails which A: makes you really feel like you're being pampered and B: hello it's a Friday I gotta go weekend! :) loved that! My fill turned out brilliant. I don't have a clue what her name was but the shape, thickness and design were all great. Extremely happy camper there. The regular pedicure which I was never told they had a deluxe until after my nails were done and I saw someone getting something different was just kind of blah. For me the pedicure is everything. It's how I really relax and unwind. However I just felt like it was super quick and she didn't get the calluses off of my heels which was super disappointing. The massage was a blink of an eye which was sad because that's my favorite part. But my nail design did turn out great! Overall I really wish they would have told me there was a deluxe. My eyebrows! Holy Moses they are flawless! The gal who did them was super quick and knew exactly what she was doing. I love that she was very good at this because well let's be real, you're ripping our hair! Overall this is a very friendly and affordable place to get your nails done. They have plenty of staff and actually interact with you. I will be bank. Just maybe not for the pedicure. Read Less

Great at mani/pedi's. But they need to step up their waxing game. This is gross. Also, I have to ask them to use a clean wooden stick that hasn't been used. Then she pulled out an eyebrow brush that looked like it had been used on 1,000 people. I could actually see the skin flakes all over the brush. Ugh! Obviously I didn't let her use THAT on me. Why do I keep coming back?? Because my eyebrows always look fantastic when I leave there. Plus it's $10So if cleanliness is important, don't get waxed here!!!!! But if you want a quick, cheap eyebrow wax and you keep an eye on what they use on you, go for it! Read Less

Got a gel overlay and had to go back because three were lifting...okay fine. Two days later they start coming off again after i specifically asked if i it would happen a third time and was told no dont worry. Call back for a refund and get told they dont do that, just come back in and we'll fix it. So now i have to go back waste another hr getting there and another hour in the salon. Freaking ridiculous, i could go to salons much closer to me and cheaper and have had it done right the first time. I will never recommend this place Read Less
