Just went to have my sns gel nail polish removed. She told me they could remove it. They definitely did not know how. I had two ladies filing away at My nails completely ruining them. I told them to use a machine thing they said they don't have machines. I spent 40mins there only to remove my gel nail polish ontop of that thy charged $15 for it. Wow this is the best place I have been for a shellac mani! The OPI product is amazing. It has lasted for 3 full weeks without chips or lifting. Most other places I go they start lifting after a week. I came here because the space was so spacious. The ladies are so busy talking to others or on the phone, that you don't feel like they are giving you direct attention. I worked with one of their best, Ann, and I think she was lack luster. She would leave in between and work on another client and therefore, my service took way longer than it needed to. Ann also smudged my nail paint on the skin and until i told her to try and make it neater, she was just going to leave it-be. This place is spacious with lots of pedicure chairs and plenty of manicure desks. There's a nice big window to watch people walk by while you get your nails done. I dropped in for a shellac manicure with some basic artwork (a starfish on each ring finger which is basically just 5 lines that meet in the middle - not too difficult) which I learned they apparently don't really do nail art. (I went home and did the same thing on my toenails myself and it was pretty simple...)The polish started separating from my nails after about 8 or 9 days which I've never had happen before. Been coming here to see Ann since I moved to the area from Seattle about three years ago. They always do a great job. Time management might be the one improvement they should work on, if you schedule an appointment it's almost always 15 to 20 minutes behind. And I go for a fill and pedicure each time which can take 2 to 2 1/2 hours. In Seattle I would get it done within 1.5 hours so allotting to set aside that amount of time has definitely been an adjustment. I'm really excited to visit here again for a few reasons: 1) Really close to my home.2) They have a lot of people on staff and plenty of chairs to fill. 3) If you're into Shellac polish, they have SO MANY COLORS!!!!! 4) Post fill & polish, I was given a hand massage!!!! This is a HUGE plus for me. I'm always working with my hands; they're my livelihood, so even just a few minutes fills me with total relaxation. 5) $35 is a great price for an Acrylic fill and shellac polish.One star is deducted because of how fast and slightly rough the process was. I'm not a baby and can tolerate a lot, but I felt like she was rushing. A few times she got way too close to my cuticles. But not so much that it would prevent me from returning. It was my first time going here and I had a really good experience. Pros: clean, good customer service, good location. -Parking is fine during the day; you can always park somewhere nearby and take a very short walk. -The pedicure section had nice chairs.-The gal who did my gel polish had done a wonderful job. *Maybe I haven't been going to the right salons the last five years, but I'm satisfied with this one. Normally after a couple hours I see defects, but not this time.Cons: the place was hard to find. -Their sign is literally way up high where you cannot see it unless you look up. So! This is the worst place to do your Nails. I went in to have my Shellac removed they did a bad job. She wouldn't wait a minute on the solution and started scraping it off my nails scratching them off leaving my nails scared. Then pushed my hand saying that's it she's done, I told her there is still some shellac left and that the surface needs a fast polish at least. She refused to listen and told me $5. Besides that when I first entered there was no greetings or smile, the beauticians where talking in their language across the place in a loudly voice and constantly. I didn't feel like a customer I felt like I wasn't welcomed. The behavior from what I saw was negative so was the vibe in the place. I absolutely love this place! Other people have made note that the ladies are "unfriendly and don't talk to you" but for me, I actually enjoy that I can sit and relax instead of making conversation while I get my toes and nails done! They've always been very kind and friendly to me and do fantastic work. It's Kirkland, so yes it's a littler pricier than some other places but I think you get what you pay for- great service, friendly but quiet, wonderful mani pedi. I like that if I get the CND shellac they use the proper top and base coat- I've gone to other places that use CND shellac color but even if they have the top and base coat refuse to use it bc it's more expensive, but not here! The salt scrub, hot stones and warm towels used for the massage during the pedicure are luxurious and heavenly- I will continue to come here for a long time! Read Less

This place is great for a man to get a pedicure. They did so much for $29 which I was impressed for a pedicure.  They start off by soaking your feet in a nice soapy tub then they do the trimming of your toenails and dead skin around them.  Then they go to the thing the removes the calluses. They did a good job on the too. They used a brown sugar foot scrub on my feet and lower legs which smelled really good and felt amazing.Then they topped it off with a lower leg and foot massage for a good amount of time.       They a hot towel for each leg followed up by two hot rocks that the massaged both legs with. I thought that it was a nice touch because I've never seen any other place do that to cap off the pedicure. But the only reason they didn't get five stars is because they don't speak English when talking to one another which I believe is a big customer service issue. And rude for a business in which a majority of the clients don't speak their language. But that was the only issue I found with this place. They service was great    I would definitely go back to this place when I am up here in the Kirkland area. For sure best I've had in the area so far. Read Less

Today I decided to try a new nail salon because I'm not so pleased with the one I've just tried also here in Kirkland. I check out a few local places via customer reviews. I find Bayside and they are rated with 5 stars and what sounds like great times by numerous ladies exept one. I noticed they do not have the days nor hours in which they opperate posted so I call. They have an answering machine BUT again no mention of the opperating times and days, so I leave a message. I do get a call back when they open at 10am. I ask how the salon is right now and I'm told pretty slow so I say ok I'll be right over. I get lost because I'm new to the area and the same girl I spoke with just a few minutes before helps get me there. I get there and it's quiet. Two employees and no customers. I said Hi and that I just spoke to someone and that I rthink it was her. She says yes and while sitting nods her head for me to go sit down at the end. The woman that did my nail did not speak to me and she was most certainly rushing. I go to get out and relax not feel stressed as well as talk with adults and not just children. I did not feel pampered at all like others stated, there is no water or tea given out any more, so over all it was not a good experience for me. My nails came out ok. I hope people read this updated info about Bayside and steer clear unless your on a lunch break or do not enjoy light adult conversation or to feel pampered. They do have opi as their main product and do offer all the standard nail and skin treatments you can find almost anywhere. Bayside Nail Spa (Formerly Jana Nails) is the best out there! I love the way how I get pampered there by the friendly and detailed oriented staffs. The prices are so reasonable and my polish stays on twice as long! Not to mention, they offer free bottled water and hot tea. Also the paraffin hot wax dips are worth a try. Love it! Read Less

While Jana might be the place for acyrlic nails, stay away if you have natural nails- they couldn't be less interested in your manicure. After their quick clip and file job, my nails were different lengths and crooked. They did a parafin wax, but didn't touch my cuticles before slapping on a coat of polish and telling me I was finished. When I asked them to at least file my nails to the same length and remove the polish from the skin around my nails, the gal said ""no, you fine. "" When I asked again to either have my nails fixed or a refund so I could have another shop fix them, Jana herself rushed over, grabbed my arm and said ""we don't need customers like you, don't come back."" Jana Nail Salon is a place to go to be pampered. Waxing, manicures, pedicures, acrylics...they're all offered here. Jana is a gem. Her acrylic backfills for a professional looking French manicure are the best I've ever seen. The modern pedicure chairs are wonderful. Jana and Tina know their stuff. Professional, efficient and very reasonably priced. They also sterilize all instruments unlike many nail salons. Try this salon - you won't be disappointed! Read Less
