I hesitated for hours before posting this review..... but felt it needed to be done. Absolute worst pedicure I have ever had. Spent quite a bit and would have been far better off doing it at home. No appropriate callous removal, massage was terrible, and they are extremely over priced for what they deliver. Cuticles not done properly, and when removing previous gel also did MAJOR nail damage.....Also had some major hygiene concerns. I was looking for a new place in Gig Harbor that is clean and uses good standards. Debbie did a great job on my pedicure and was efficient, friendly and followed good health standards by using a disposable liner and disposable nail files, etc. I'll be going back. Read Less

My mom is visiting from out of town and I brought her here because there used to be a lady in the spa who did sugaring. She was gone and they are doing regular waxing now.  The "spa" room was in what looked like a storage closet. There was ducting hanging right above (no relaxing music or decor). The pillow did not have a pillowcase to change, so I'm assuming everyone puts their head on the same pillow... ?The esthetician never even turned on the bright light.  She did my mom's eyebrows, lip and chin, and didn't offer her a mirror to look. She took about five minutes, and it cost $38. When my mom woke up this morning, her eyebrows looked terrible, there was hair still on her chin, and wax still on her face.  Go to a real spa if you want quality, and sanitary, treatment where they actually act like they care about their clients. I came here the day before thanksgiving and needed a fill and gel polish. The nails were lumpy and very poorly shaped. I also asked to have glitter on them and the nail tech would only say "next time". The gel polish wasn't cured all the way and within a day I had spots on my nails that the polish wore off of. I will not be coming back here and do not recommend this establishment for acrylics. Read Less

Was excited to know there was a new place right around the corner from where I live but now having been there, not so pleased after all. I just went here yesterday with my mother and it was a little later in the evening and they were actually empty to my surprise, so I thought that was great to be able to have the undivided attention of the nail tech. Nope. Not even. As soon as we walk in the door and ask if they still have time for the both of us the woman who I believe owns the place stands there for 2 mins. with this puzzled look on her face and when my mother tried to re-explain what we wanted she began talking over my mom and yelling. Then we sit down and I grab for my phone to show the nail tech what exactly it is that I wanted, I also ask if they have the ability to do so several times, and the nail tech that was to service me starts screaming at me saying she doesn't know what Im talking about and doesn't know how to do what Im asking because she doesn't know how phones work?? (okay??...) and then somehow proceeds to do my nails. I notice that right as I asked a few times if they'd offered what I was wanting, they start talking back and forth about me in their native language. (Look I may not speak Vietnamese, but I know when you're being fucking rude and talking about me right in front of me..) As I'm sitting there and the nail tech is carrying out the service, without even the slightest clue of how I want them, I mention to her that I like my nails medium length but not too too short, square and narrow. She looks up at me with disgust and irritation and screams at me "YEAH I'LL FILE IT LATER!" I continued to grow more and more agitated as she would not file them or even cut them the way I'd asked and when she appeared to not want to listen to my requests I piped up and had to physically show her how short I wanted them, and even the owner had to come over to explain to her what narrow and short meant in Vietnamese. She then did the complete opposite ON PURPOSE and made them wide as hell and incredibly long. When I kept telling her to make them shorter and more narrow, she actually flung my hand back and was physically snatching and man handling my hands. So if you like being yelled at and damn near physically abused, then maybe this is the place for you, but I however will not be back here anytime soon. Read Less

AMAZING. I LOVE this place. The best, I tried ALL of the nail salons after moving to this area from South Hill I am staying here!  So comfortable and relaxing. The prices are GREAT. Im giving this place an extra star because Jasmine is so great if you are getting services from her you dont have to worry. She also does great lashes for a great price. Shes nice, very processional and the salon is really beautiful. The problem is with the other technicians and the front desk. There is always someone different at the front desk and they dont really seem to know whats going on. I also had one technician tell me the color i wanted was ugly and she was soooooo slow. They do have a good polish selection and offer discounts on some days. Its a nice salon but has a few issues. Read Less

Love the products. Service usually good, but expensive. I always got pedicures. Last time I went, the technician spent the entire time telling me how much she hated her job. I was getting the second manicure I had ever had in my life to attend my dad's funeral. I have no idea what the bad reviewers are talking about… they could be people that are never satisfied with anything and never will be … an awfully sad way to go through life. That being said, the experience I had was wonderful from start to finish. The staff treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. I am a diabetic man and really appreciate the autoclaved tools and fresh supplies, that alone is worth the extra money. I sprung for the $80 dollar pedicure and was very happy with the results…heck the cold beer was kinda nice. I plan to return today.Read Less

Yes, Julep is more expensive than the other nail salons in Gig Harbor. I purchased a membership and so the prices are not bad. In my opinion, Julep is well worth the extra money. If you compare them to the other 'cheaper' salons in town... the experience is apples and oranges. I don't necessarily enjoy spending more money for my mani/pedis... but I have to say that I never enjoyed having my nails done while the technicians chattered and giggled away in a foreign language. It makes you feel like like an idiot sitting there while they completely ignore you. Even when they speak perfect english... it is very isolating to have people speak a different language while you sit there for an hour. The Seinfeld episode hit the nail on the head with their play on the experience. Julep uses sterile instruments, sterile bowls for the foot soak and... they give you a little goodie bad to take home that includes the nail file, callus scrubber, cuticle stick and even the bottle of nail polish they used on you. So you know they are not reusing the same instruments on numerous clients... which you know goes on at the 'cheaper' salons... especially that horrible 'cheese grater' they use on everyone's feet. Try Kelly for manis or pedis... she is awesome!! And Kaylee for a facial that you will not soon forget. It is amazing!! It is not just a facial... she does your face, your décolletage, your hands, arms and feet. It is worth every penny... and then some!! Read Less

DON'T GO HERE for their advertised toddler time. The location is NOT SAFE for toddlers! The back area, which contains toxic materials, is not secured. In addition, they advertise: Bring the kids along to ... investigate our overflowing toy box and listen to Julep’s resident story reader. Our childcare professional will supervise your children while you enjoy the pampering you deserve. TOTALLY FALSE!!! I arrived and asked who was going to supervise my daughter. They said the receptionist would - if she had a free moment. No toys, no books, no supervision. We walked out. This place is a scam. Read Less
