I used to love this place but it went extremely far downhill very quickly. The pedis are rushed and leave your feet rough. The ladies are nice, with the exception of one. I had made an appointment for myself and 2 friends. I walked in and told them as such. No problem. Two more ladies asked me if I had an appointment- no problem, it was crowded and busy. I love this place! I started going to it back when I lived on Ft Lewis and was trying out a few different nail salons. Now I live out near Yelm and still make the drive to get my nails done here. I love the staff and my nails always look amazing when I leave. I always call ahead before I make the drive and have never had any issue getting in even when they are busy. I have been coming here for years and always recommend everyone I know to come here! They are beyond amazing especially Melissa & Kim! They make you feel like family and don't treat you like any old client! The salon is always very clean & the "crockpot" behind the pedi chairs is for the hot stones they use for the pedi's not food, so I'm not sure what the other two grumpy people are talking about but hey that's their opinion! Their pedicure area is awesome and super relaxing..., in fact I have almost fallen asleep and I've seen others fall completely asleep because it is so relaxing. They are also the only shop I know of (and trust me I tried out a bunch before I found them) that takes their time with you and doesn't rush because someone is waiting, they make you feel important and a priority when they are doing your nails or pedi. My first experience with this place wasn't so great. I'm not picky but when it comes to my pedicure that I'm paying for, I will address why I'm not satisfied and usually it's when the job is done of what I ask for and I don't ask for much. My usual is a French tip with a design. The girl that did my pedi was nice and patient because I wasn't happy with the design or the color of the design and and she would fix and redo it for me. They didn't know that I speak their language so one older lady (not there anymore) said out loud, "If she doesn't like it then tell her to leave!" I was cool and collected and amused, all that was in my head was what a rude lady. I stop going for a while and decided to try the place again and from then on nothing but wonderful experiences and been going for 5 years. Kim and Melissa are my favorite. Kim is so hard working and honest. Melissa is hilarious and cracks me up every time and it's never a dull moment with her. If you're not satisfied with something, all you have to do is let them know and they will more than do their best. I don't usually like waxing but I take my family and friends when there's a chance for mani/pedi/wax and Kim has done all three for me and does a great job. This is the only place I go to and they do miracles when I come in after a mud run. Just because you don't understand what they are saying in their language, you shouldn't assume they are talking bad about you. I speak their language and before they even knew that, I would hear Kim telling everyone to make sure they only speak English. I would hear them complimenting people such as how cute the kids were and how pretty the customer look with their hair or outfit. Trust me, they are busy with their lives and work and kids to be talking about you negatively. Plus, Melissa is direct so she will tell you like it is and I love that genuine attitude of her. I think this may be my last visit. I have been going to Center Nails for years but boy has their cleanliness gone down the toilet. Really grossed me out. It's filthy. Walls, baseboards, sinks. Yuk. I am from NY and this place was a rip off. Not only did she try to over charge me, they do not have a basic pedicure price. Their pedicures start at $25 and they did nothing special except the parafin. For $25 in NY I could have gotten a great mani, pedi & massage while my nails dried in a cleaner environment with sanitized equipment. The picture they show is a false representation of how it really looks inside, they were understaffed and rude. Make sure you tell your nail tech EXACTLY what you want with your mani/pedi.  They will go to town on your nails.  Or not. Sarah did my kid's mani-pedi.  Didn't rush and even did some cool sparkly nail designs.  She was very patient with some re-do's too.Another time I got a lady named Kathy.  She got easily distracted by other customers coming in the door.  Ugh, such a waste.  I hate it when I could have just done it myself for free.The place itself is very cluttery.  Sure, it's not some high end nail salon or whatever but it really is not relaxing at all.  Feels like walking into your neighbor's house who has been a secret hoarder this whole time.  Too many random chairs to bump into.  Old towels hanging everywhere.  There was a pot roast thing brewing on the counter behind one of the pedi/massage chairs? Forget about that drying table in the front area.  Doesn't work.Don't bother getting the mani-pedi.  It's $25 and a waste.  Instead get the polish change for $7.  Same thing.And if you don't get Sarah, run! Absolutely terrible service! The women were extremely nasty and rude! They never tell you the prices so I got a pedicure that ended up being 35! Never did they ask if I wanted a basic pedicure! Recently moved to JBLM and needed to find my permanent go-to nail salon. I arrived around 5:30pm and was seen within 10 min of waiting. I don't recall the names of the people that did my mani and pedi, but I was very happy with the service. The hot stone massage with my pedicure was a pleasant surprise and the gentleman really took his time with the service. The manicure was clean and quick. I just wanted a clear coat gel polish (they understood I am military, so no pressure on color). Just for $50, I am happy and a returning customer. Also, I hear there's a discount if you pay in cash. I think this place is awesome! Its definitely a budget salon, the interior of the salon could use some touching up. For the price you get more than your money's worth. Everyone is so friendly and fun to be around. Their pedicures are amazing. This is my go-to salon since I live down the street. I never go in on busy days which probably helps, but I've never had a bad experience here. Went in for a pedicure, and to my surprise it was a wonderful experience.  Massage, hot stones, paraffin wax, all for the price of $25.  Even the chair I was sitting in was a massage chair.  I did get a younger girl who seemed to be new and still in training, but she was very careful and thorough.  Glad she did not attempt the design at all and called someone for help when the design came.  I did think the designs were a bit pricey.  $5 per design.  When I had my pedicure done in California, it was only $2-3 per design.  Overall, I would still come back since the experience was nice. The gentleman who does nails is extremely rude and doesn't engage with customers.. He acts as if he hates his job and doesn't want to be there. His work is very sloppy and has an attitude when customers (politely) ask if he can clean up his work. It was such a bad a experience that I will not continue my business with center nails.Read Less
