After going to multiple nail salons in Bellingham and having pitiful service and experiences, Better Nails was a breath of fresh air. The service was amazing! Tom (who did my nails) took his time to shape my nails and checked with me several times to make sure it was the desired shape. Another nice thing is that the services are well priced. "Better" is an appropriate name YES definitely better than most nail places in this town !! Clean, friendly,  and fellow customers there (when I run into them /it's usually quiet) are very nice as well. I love how I can get in with no appointment and everything is taken care of as expected. I have been doing gel polish with the "cat eye" polish here and have really been enjoying it. It holds up (for me) a bit longer than regular gel polish. No chips , no imperfections.. very pleased. Not a fancy shamancy place but I don't care about that. More concerned with quality. I have been seeing Julie here and she is awesome! Today was the first time Another lady took care of me and I am very pleased with her work as well. This place is well worth a try. Read Less

I have been to this place twice after horrible experiences at other salons, and I can confidently say I will NEVER go anywhere else. Better Nails is the best nail salon in Bellingham, hands down. They sanitize EVERYTHING, the tools are packaged in hospital style plastic and you SEE them get opened. The staff are incredibly friendly and they do phenomenal work. The acrylics are top quality and done just right (not too thick). They have a huge selection of gel polish and great nail art options. Do NOT go anywhere else in Bellingham, this is your nail salon! They lost a customer. I called to schedule an appointment and asked TWICE while on the phone if they had time. She confirmed both times. I arrange my schedule accordingly, show up to my appointment only to be told two walk-ins showed up and they are understaffed at the moment and to come back later. I thought it was completely unprofessional! I have a busy schedule, which is why I called ahead. Wasting my time is a good enough reason to take my business elsewhere. Like a lot of other comments made, what I want and what the owner wants and does are totally different but he tends to think he is right. I brought in my own products and he still overcharged me. When I got a pedicure the lady did not shape my toenails just clipped them so of course my socks and sheet got ripped. I tried for better service one after two visits where I gave them benefit of doubt but still the same outcome. This place was recommended by a friend but I can tell that they are about business and not there to accommodate customers with their artistic nail talent like I need. Read Less

I went in to get my acrylics taken off. He simply took an unused acrylic nail and ripped off the acrylics without letting them soak, or without putting anything on them. I asked if this was bad for the nails and he said "ya" and continued ripping my nails off. My nails are completely destroyed now and I had to pay $10 for something I could have done at home. Sadly Jenny has left and things are starting to slip.  I went in for a back wax and the new girl took almost an hour to do it.  To her credit she was very gentle but she left so much wax on my wax afterwards that It was easier to throw away my shirt when I got home instead of trying to get all the wax off before I washed it.  Time to look for a new salon :( Read Less

Im a male, i had a manicure done. Was very unprofessional, painful, and my nails are scratched. I really look forward to hand massages at the end and hot wax. I got about a 7 second hand massage for each hand and no offer for hot wax. I for sure will not be going back to this place. Read Less

By far the worst manicure I've ever gotten.  I guess I should've known when I called and they weren't very friendly on the phone,  but I needed a mani bad.  I walked in, there was a lady hanging out on a pedicure chair filing her nails, she said to me "what do want?" as she continued to sit there & file her nails.  The water in my bowl was freezing cold, I asked if they did "spa manicures" (every nail place in California offers these, it blows my mind that no one up here knows what they are) & both People working looked at me like I'm stupid.  So I told them my hands just needed major love.  There's still dead skin around my nails, my old polish wasn't taken off completely, and the "hand massage" they gave was shorter, not even close to as nice as what I give to my guests in the salon while they're processing, and it made my hands hurt more.  I even heard a woman who came in after me for a spa pedi tell the lady her water was too cold.  I understand it may have been at the end of their day, but it was empty & looked like they could r a ally use the business, but they're customer is just the worst.  Not to mention, the entire time they were speaking in a foreign language.  I'm just glad it was a  less than 20 minute service, because I could not wait to get out of there. I made an appointment for a 5 pm time slot and when I showed up, 20 min early, a woman who had NOT made an appointment told Jenny that my appointment was HER'S.  At the time I was confused so I asked the woman if she had really made an appt and she wouldn't even make eye contact with me or answer me.  Needless to say, after being told I had to come back the next day, I was so mad!   Not at Jenny though (she actually called me back the next morning and made me a new appt).  Anyways, I called later that hour and explained to Jenny what had just happened and she was so apologetic.  She politely confronted the woman who stole my appointment( haha!! ).  She is so sweet and honest. I love her!  She works so hard and cares so much about her customers. To the woman who knowingly stole my appointment then ignored me when I tried to sort out what you were up to;  you're a rude person! Read Less
