I used Salon Maison for my wedding and had the worst experience with this place and the management. This is one choice I wish could go back and change. Besides the fact that my face looked awful on my wedding day - people were asking me "what's wrong with your face?" due to the makeup peeling off and layered on way too much, the customer service is what really put me over the edge with this place. I confirmed my appointments for 3 bridesmaids and myself (hair/makeup) in June for my October wedding. Their email confirmation says to email over some dates for your pre-trial once the event gets closer (NOT NOW). It also pre-generated a time of their arrival due to the start of my wedding time I provided. My wedding started at 6pm. They wanted to arrive onsite at 7am...I called and was told, once you do your pre-trial, we can adjust that to a better start time. 6 WEEKS before my wedding, I booked my pre-trial. I picked a Saturday, 3 weeks before my wedding. Then I get an email, the week of my appt. (not a phone call) asking me to reschedule...they provided 3 other time options, all during the week (which I can't do), one of which was mere days before my wedding. I called them and they told me that another Bride had a last minute emergency so they need to change this. They went "out of their way" to schedule a time on Sunday morning for me, 8 AM (during closed business hours).  I didn't get any beverage offered to me, and felt rushed (which they say to allow 3 HOURS for) because my stylist had ANOTHER wedding to get to! I was done in an hour. I ask about start time, and got told you have to speak to someone else. I call Monday and am then told I can't, this should have been done when I booked. After back and forth (I changed my appt to help a bride and you can't help me on your error?) they gave me a 2nd stylist to allow for an hour later start time, free of charge. On my wedding day, they drove separately, and asked me to pay for parking. I said I would only pay for one per the contract, and the 2nd is on them. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Even after the fact, I wrote a non-favorable review on a wedding website and they are trying to dispute my words. Just another reason I would stay away...if you aren't happy and had a poor experience, they try to sweep it under a rug, avoid the situation, and paint a pretty picture with only positive reviews. I've been here several times and I only go to one person Maddie (who is amazing) but have tried a few other stylist for a blowout when Maddie has not been available... and they don't know how to do a blowout. My only positive experiences her have been with Maddie everyone else have been disappointing. I prefer salon Obadiah for a consistently high quality blowout. Their salon in Bellevue is older but their salon in Kirkland is really nice (kinda a trek if you are in Bellevue but worth it).Sorry Salon Maison, I won't be coming here again based on my experience today. This review is for a wedding party styling where their team came to a location to do hair and makeup for 6 people. First of all they insisted on the time they were going to show up based on how many people needed work done. The bride requested 9am but was told they wouldn't need that much time and would arrive at 11am. The bride was a mess of nerves anxious about timing and they assured her it would work out fine. On the day of the wedding two girls arrived at 11, and the third arrived around 1pm. It was very stressful for all of us and my hair looked absolutely awful. The girl who did my hair must not have been paying attention bc I showed her a photo and explained to her exactly what I wanted and what to avoid. The outcome was horrific. There wasn't time to fix it as I was left to be last at the same time as the bride. The girls on the team were young and sweet but could definitely have used 5x as much hairspray. 4 out of 6 of our hair styles were falling out and in need of repinning by the time we were at the venue needing to put our dresses on before the wedding ceremony. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hair styling that cost $80 per person!The only redeeming quality about the business was they offered the bride a deep conditioning treatment as a wedding gift. I LOVE Salon Maison!!!!! The staff is so welcoming and accomodating, and I felt extremely well taken care of while I was there. They feature local champagne and wines, which adds a very classy feel to the whole experience. All of the stylists are very efficient and talented in a wide variety of styles and looks, which is so much more fun than having set styles offered!! The decor has a delightful boutique feel with lots of beautiful, sparkly accessories available to purchase. This is an excellent style bar, and I have tried quite a few in several big cities. It is very well managed - Celeste makes sure you are a happy customer, or she'll do whatever it takes to remedy a situation if one arises. Scheduling issues are handled cheerfully and without issue. I tried to make an appointment today starting early morning , I called 3 times no answer, left 2 messages and still no return call. Just called right before closing and the reception person was rushed and let me know there was Absolutely no appointments available at all for this weekend. I totally get a late request before the weekend I may not get an appointment but I would have liked to have had an opportunity to ask some questions about service and select a different time to try them out. Katie did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos, and it was a great experience! I absolutely loved the way my hair turned out! Although the makeup looked a bit heavy in-person, Katie assured me this was because we were doing a photo shoot, and that day-of wedding makeup would be much lighter. She was definitely 100% correct in her application because the makeup looks amazing in our photos! I'll be using Salon Maison for my wedding day as well after this amazing experience.In the Seattle area there are SO many one-man-show MUAs, and there is no accountability. They were hired for wedding hair and makeup for 4, all "natural look" and curls.Cons- The brides hair was supposed to be half-up curls, she got it done less than an hour before the wedding and she had to pin it up again herself twice right before walking down the aisle.- The brides eye makeup made her eyes look so sunken she looked sick in all of her photos. even with two professional photographers over 5 hrs, there was very little to choose from that didn't make her look ten years older. So it's not just the price of this service your sacrificing ladies!- I don't know if this is normal but, they only took cash and wouldn't bill. The groom had to run across the street to get cash from a store right before his own wedding.Pros-They were nice- The bridesmaids makeup was ok. they all would have looked the same or nicer if a friend did it with regular drug store makeup. I am giving Salon Maison 5 stars based on their willingness to make sure I was a happy bride on my big day! I wasn't happy after the trial and had a slight meltdown. My stylist Kara was beyond willing to meet with me again to make sure I was happy. Both hair and makeup ended up looking flawless in photos and the girls were sweet and very punctual as well! If you are wanting a salon that's on time, reliable, and affordable...book your bridal party with salon Maison. My bridesmaids looked awesome! The only complaint I would have is that they mostly only communicate by email which can be inconvenient but is tolerable since lots of businesses these days are like that. Read Less

Got the Signature Blowout ($39). Booked an appointment in advance and had no problem. Svetlana did my hair and it turned out great! Love that you can get a mimosa and watch a chick flick while getting your hair done. Prices are also reasonable. FYI They have a VIP membership program that gives a sweet deal on blowouts. I would come back to get my hair done if I were in the area. I am deducting one star because there are no mirrors at this salon (except for a small one they give you at the end) so you can't see what your stylist is doing. Read Less

The only thing I can review for this place is the service, since I never got a chance to try a blowout, although now I'm glad I didn't. I made an appointment for a blow out about a month in advance of a big event in Bellevue I was coordinating. It was going to be a busy day and I didn't want to add taming my mane to the list of to dos. The day before the event, I received a voicemail that there was an issue with my appointment. I returned their call and they said someone had called out sick and they had to cancel my appointment. Now don't get me wrong, I understand stuff happens and people call out. What made me angry about the situation was their lack of customer service in dealing with it. I asked if I could reschedule and the short  reply I got was they had openings the next day. Considering it was for a special event, that wasn't going to work. And they could not have cared less. No real effort to make it right, and very little remorse for it happening. Like I said, I understand the situation on their end, but you would figure they have some kind of protocol to remedy situations like this aside from just a "btw, we're cancelling your appointment" call. They were prompt, incredibly professional, open to adjustments on both hair and makeup and cheerful to boot! I used Salon Maison for my wedding makeup and hair after my first artist kept showing up late and I lost faith. They had good reviews in the magazines. I have to say they were always very friendly, professional and patient. Both the hair and makeup artists had excellent demeanors.My hair went ok at the trial but the makeup was a mini disaster. They promise unlimited time to try different looks - and I think the artist would have been willing to keep going - but she didn't have the products I was looking for or the knowledge of how to create the look. I wanted full coverage but for it to look a little dewey and with contouring to bring out the old cheekbones. I had a nighttime, candlelight wedding and felt the makeup could afford to be a bit more dramatic than the usual wedding makeup. I've had this look done by makeup artists a few times before with no issues. The foundation they had was MAC but they were a little stingy with it and it didn't seem to be full coverage and a few dark spots were popping through no matter what. And the artist didn't know how to do contouring or use highlighter. ??? Not as skilled as I had hoped. I've honestly had better makeup done at Sephora multiple times. They offered to reschedule the trial and have another artist do the makeup and I felt that was very professional of them. That ended up working out alright. I only had 2 bridesmaids but they both have a serious amount of hair. They estimated that they could have 1 artist do the hair and makeup for the bride and 2 bridesmaids in 3 hours. I told them several times that wasn't enough people. They finally gave me a second person and even then they were rushing us at the end because they had to get to another wedding. One of the bridemaids ended up with pretty shoddy curls. The other wanted a half-up do with braids  that was pretty simple but it looked like crap about an hour later. Bobbi pins everywhere and the comb they used was not secured well enough.  Last minute I decided to have them also do my SIL and MIL's hair and makeup at my house. They were able to accommodate and that went well. MIL had purple eyeshadow though.The true cost: All in all it was fine and the wedding was great but for what it was, the price seemed pretty steep. About $1400 for 5 people. Oh, that's including a mandatory 20% tip which was a little annoying but they said it was because brides are so hectic on the wedding day they forget to tip. I suppose. Going to try and keep this short and well...informative.I decided to go with this salon for my bridal makeup because of the ratings it had on the Knot. Some ratings were negative but I thought, "this won't happen to me" so I booked them. When I arrived, everyone was quite nice, got my champagne and met my stylist who worked very hard on me. My pre-session was 4 hours... so here was my experienceCons:- Never got my Ipad for browsing pictures- We were never able to get close to any of the makeup looks I asked for in the pre-session- Was only shown 1 palette of 20 MAC shadows (Mostly shade variations  and some Neon color Urban Decay Shadows because I asked to see more. They also told me they did not have white eyeliner which I had suggested....Later after my appointment they sent me an email saying "oh and we also have other MAC eyeshadows  that we carry. And we actually do have the white eyeliner.    Point I made: Can I come back for another pre-session because obviously I was not happy with my first session because you did't show me everything and we never got close to my optimal look! I honestly gave up because after 4 hours I was tired at it was almost 9PM!!!- Answers from Cindy (Summarized): You can come back and we will charge you $100 for another makeup pre-session. So I said no, it's the salon's fault that the first session was not optimal because you told me you didn't have other eyeshadows and that there was no eyeliner and you didn't even show me all your products. The Response: "I'm sorry your experience didn't meet your expectations...you can come in for $50."- So I took my those $50 dollars and spent another $100 on top of that to make sure I had the eyeshadows, blush, lipstick eyelashes ((they offer $30 eyelashes Adrell lashes ($3 in store)) and shimmer to make sure we could achieve the look I needed the day of my wedding!Pros:- My stylist never got frustrated with me and worked well to help me get close to a look...(not quite there but good enough). In Summary: My stylist was nice, but the Salon management was terrible. If you want a stress free wedding planning and want to purchase services from a vendor that will acknowledge your concern's and that will ensure that they can achieve the look you want for your wedding day...think twice about this place.OK...It wasn't short. This salon is really cute.  My friend is actually a member so I gave it a shot.  I usually go to O2 blow dry bar.  My stylist was really nice but in the end my hair was just okay (curls were too tight and not sexy) and it was a bit more expensive than O2.  I will give it another chance but it won't be the first salon I call.  I like that they have a TV and try to create a fun atmosphere.  I will be back! Awesome first experience.. It was the best shampoo / head massage ever.. I just had the signature blow out with Mojgan. Mojgan was super sweet, fun to talk to and really talented. I can't believe my hair can't be styled like that, it looked amazing.It was a little too early for Champagne so I opted for coffee.. Coffee wasn't great and was served in a styrofoam cup that took away from the glamorous experience.. I was surprised at that, especially for the ladies of Bellevue (not me). One thing I really like about Obadiah salon is their coffee, so that's just a tip to improve the overall experience. (Next time I'll have bubbles)It seemed odd that the hair stations don't have mirrors but maybe that's by design.. This is a bit belated but my sister selected them to do her makeup for her wedding day. As a gift to me, the maid of honor, and our mom, she paid for them to do our hair and make up as well.My sister looked gorgeous (but we're related so, you know, DNA and stuff) although there were parts of her hair that I wasn't impressed with. She wanted loose curls but they were more flat. She was wearing extensions which she even consulted with them on to get the best brand/the most workable kind. Her actual hair held some of the curls but the extensions did not. Her make up did look gorgeous and, again, she overall looked stunning that day. However, the curls seemed a little careless.I thought they did a decent job with my hair. Then again, my thick and coarse texture tends to hold most styles. I also loved that the setting spray on my makeup worked wonders. It was a hot day and between the weather and the excitement, my skin typically would've melted away every bit of makeup on it by then but it managed to stay.My main problem with the service was that I felt the make up done wasn't the most flattering on our skin tones and features. I have warm, red undertones while my mom's are warm and yellow. We both have bigger almond-shaped eyes. We all wanted a more natural look but somehow they managed to make my eyes and my mom's eyes look smaller. So much so that in some of the pics, my mom's eyes looked closed. Perhaps they are able to complement more Caucasian looks but for those with more yellow skin tones and almond shaped eyes, I'd make sure to do a test run.Overall, I'd recommend this service to friends. They were very sweet and friendly. They were professional and understated which allowed us to really enjoy the process of getting ready. So I decided to try this place out because they could get me in on short notice. but when she was done with my hair and makeup I felt like all she did was cover me with coconut oil. The makeup looked so greasy and unprofessional. The hair, all I asked was for loose curls. It turned out looking like my 3 year old niece did it. All I can really say about this Salon is that they do not know what they're doing. I do not recommend it to anybody. especially on your wedding day they will just ruin your mood your hair and makeup! This summer my friend was married, and Salon Maison was chosen to do our hair and makeup, because they are willing and able to go to where the bridal party is, and not required for the bridal party to go to them. This was a big selling point, not only that they were willing to do our hair and makeup at the bridal suite, but also that they made it very easy. Other places we had considered were difficult to get responses from, had hefty travel fees, or very strict stipulations on when they would be available. Salon Maison offers a trial run for the bride, so I went with my friend to Bellevue to see what they were going to do. Located by the newer Safeway on Bellevue Way, Salon Maison is tucked into the shopping complex that is located underneath the apartments. There is a two hour parking garage located right next door, or you could attempt to park on the street for longer. The salon is rather cute with a very heavy feminine appeal to it. This is not where you'd go to get your haircut. This is where you go to feel pampered. Decorated in white and pink with wine and champagne bottles on display we were ushered into a private side room where a couple of vanities and a couple of ottomans were situated with a central chair that my friend sat in as her hair dresser worked. Her stylist was fantastic. She explained the process, that she would be taking care of the bride solely while two other assistants would travel with her to take care of the bridesmaids. She reviewed the photos that my friend provided, and listened to her discuss what she wanted to use for makeup. Both were very familiar with Mac cosmetics, so they could easily speak a common language where I had no idea what Mac offered. The trial run went very smoothly. Her stylist tweaked the bride's hair and makeup and after a couple hours the trial run was over. They offered us wine, first glass was free and there was an additional charge after that. They made their pricing very transparent. Before we left her stylist took pictures for future reference. On the day of the wedding her stylist returned with her two assistants in tow, and arrived right on time. I assumed that with two assistants that there was one assistant per bridesmaid, but I quickly realized that they worked in concert. While one assistant was applying makeup, the other assistant worked on hair at the same time. While this is an extremely efficient process, I found it a bit overwhelming. My eyes are sensitive to most things, and having them dabbed and brushed while hairspray was going everywhere caused my eyes to sting and burn. I should have mentioned it earlier, but I thought I could tough it out. Yet, the final product was stunning and I was very impressed with their handiwork. My friend, the bride, took as long to have her hair and makeup done, and longer, than it took for us two bridesmaids to be done. Her stylist never referred back to the pictures she took from the trial run which caused her hair to come out quite a bit differently than what had happened at the trial run. They reviewed all the pictures again, and her hair was tweaked several times before achieving the same outcome as the trial run. Her hair and makeup was gorgeous for the wedding. So far this is my favorite blow dry bar (I've also been to Swink and Obidaiah O2 Dry Bar). Most other places make you select between a blow out OR heat styling for around $30-35 - Salon Maison Style Bar does both along with a glass of champagne or white wine for $38. (At the time I went, they also had a special spring deal for 30 days of unlimited blow outs for $99 - a screaming deal that I happily took advantage of). They're also much friendlier and professional than other blow dry bars I've been to (Obidaiah ran 15-20 min late for my appointment, see my review on Swink for that service fiasco). My appointment was on time, everyone was friendly and helpful, the stylist creates nice loose curls for a date I had that evening, and I happily sipped prosseco and flipped through magazines while being pampered.Parking is a breeze (I've parked at both the Safeway lot and street parking). The salon itself is cute also - and they're usually playing a chick flick on the television most times I've been here (although, obviously, it's a blow dry bar so don't think you're gonna get quality movie viewing going over the music and blow drying, but it's a cute touch). Out of the places I've tried, I would recommend this place for blow outs as they've been much more professional, friendly, and I've always left with a style I've liked. Read Less

When I moved to Bellevue from LA a few months ago I quickly realized that there was a major part of my routine I was missing out on - a good blowout place! I was so happy to walk by and see Salon Maison's blow dry bar. I popped in right away. My stylist was Megan and she was SUCH a doll. She listend to exactly what I wanted and then made my hair more glamorous than I have ever seen it. I recommend this place now to all of my friends it is so girly and fun.
