I am literally still sitting in the chair finishing up my pedicure with Beth (in case there is more than one, this one wears glasses). It is packed in here. Some of the techs are rushing with people's services but this pedicure with Beth is an experience. She hasn't said much but she keeps smiling (I like to read and don't really want to converse). But the massage she gave my legs almost put me to sleep. The fact that I haven't cringed in pain yet is amazing to me because usually pedicures hurt me a little. Not with Beth. This is awesome. I went in to get a polish change because the last lady just didn't do a good job so i waited 30 minutes for this crappy nail color job not to mention they charged $30 just to change the polish color. Overcharging people for crappy nails is NOT a good business practice. I will not be coming here anymore! I give it 1 star because everyone else was so delightful and skilled. I had a inexperienced tech. My pedicure was terrible. My manicure water was freezing and my nails ultimately look like a child did them. I explained everything I wanted several times and he kept trying to tell me I asked for something else ( I heard the receptionist tell him exactly what I wanted also). He was polite but my nails looked terrible. My nails weren't trimmed correctly, they were uneven one was even in the shape of a " v" and not filed to remotely look even. The polish was chunky and all over. Someone eventually asked him to step away and attempted to fix it. I considered coming back and utilizing the 3 day policy, but I really had no time. That was my only " me" day. Overall I left disappointed. It was a less then enjoyable experience for me. I've been here many times before and asked for the same services with an amazing experience. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that the place is nice and they give you fruit & drinks. However, the nail tech who did my nails had no idea what he was doing. He messed up on my acrylics and kept shaving and filing them over and over again. Not to mention he was doing the "dip nail" thing. Meaning they create the acrylic by continuously putting your nail in the powder rather than placing the powder on your nails with a brush. Looks so messy. I told the nail tech I was unhappy and he kept saying  "no it looks good" like what? This is MY money and MY nails just cause you think it looks good doesn't mean it does. I also asker for a gold accent nail and it came out a copper color. Overrall, I was just so pissed off after my visit. Never going here again. Rather spend 45 dollars on acrylic nails elsewhere. I ended up at Happy Nails due to my current nail tech being on an extended vacation. My service includes the dip nails. Worst decision ever! The nail tech, Tracy, rushed through the entire process and they look worse than the set I took off to get them! Due to her rushing, my nails look like a five year old did them. I go on a hesitant whim after they gave me acrylic once and I got nail fungus, cuz now I do dip and it's healthy, so I book an appt here. Terrible idea. First Lady gives me a pedi (which was fine) and a horrible mani. Lumpy, bad shape, and not the holographic tips I wanted, but instead some 90s glitter effect. I was busy and didn't have time to get them redone that day so I made a fixture appt for Sunday. All I wanted was holographic nails. It started fine, even though she was shaving down my nail even though I had dip nails that were easily removed by soaking. Anyway, we get thru the whole process up until it's time to put the holographic powder on and they realize they're ALL OUT. Are u kidding me?!! So they try to do chrome which requires a black base Vs the white holographic vase but instead of taking the white off they paint over with black. So now my nails are goopy and lumpy and totally nothing that I wanted and the lady is telling me I'm indecisive and trying to make me feel guilty for their mess up. I cried. Yes cried. She kept sawing at my cuticles and tried to make my awful nails look better by adding glitter (wtf) and it got to a point where I was so pissed that I told her to take it all off. I ended up with lumpy dip nails with a holographic gel color. I hate them but just want to go home after 3hrs for a mani. That's Sunday. Today is Wednesday and 2 nails are BROKEN!!' Trash. Several problems during our visit. It was party of 4, so they put us in a little private room however they booted one of us out because the pedicure sink wasn't working... and after my MIL left, the sink started to produce stingy odor. It was unbearable but the staff didn't care. "Almost done..almost done..." it was disgusting. Vivian, couldn't find any of the colors I wanted. And she dragged me outside to have me choose a color I wanted. What's the point of having those pallets of the colors from there doesn't exist? The procedure is not consistent. After piling and all, they didn't have my mom wash her hands, but they did for everyone. And typically when we get gel manicure they do have us wash our hands with no soap. They have choose 1 drink policy which could be an alcoholic beverage, tea, water, or soft drinks. Salon itself is very nice and newly renovated. I came in last week to get overlay taken off because it was recommended to have get put on top. Spent 50 which included polish change. I wine tour of town for 4 days to have 1 nail break and 4 others splitting, get polish chipped along with nail. I came in Monday I was told there was nothing that could be done unless Lynn approved it. The girl Tiffany did my nails acted as if she had no clue who I was. Another girl said it's too early for this I can't deal with this several times and walked away. I was told to come back Tuesday. Came back Tuesday afternoon. The guy said he would fix 5 nails that were broken by applying light powder. When asking about the other nails he said I had to pay an additional 25 to get power and get put back on. I was then told that they could not worry about the other 5 nails unless I was paying for them. He kept bringing up the damn policy, but where is your customer service. After arguing with the staff I left with no help. Again Lynn wasn't there she was taking her kids out trick or treating an surprisingly left her cell phone. I called again today an to no surprise Lynn wasn't there again. If she is never there it needs to be someone who can speak and understand English and make decisions. All I wanted was my nails fixed or my money back so I can go elsewhere. So now a week later I have 3 broken nails, 1 chipped nail and 2 nails splitting. DONT GO HERE if u want this type of service. I came to get my thumb redone because it had broke.Wendy clearly gave me attitude from when I first walked in. I wanted the same color for the rest of my nails. She asked why don't you switch the color, excuse me why would I switch. I just got my nails done here last week. One of the  guys said that Wendy would be doing my nail. I asked if there was someone else, one of the guys looked at me like I was lost, just simply rude. When I went to sit in Wendy's chair she glanced  at me asking why I look unhappy, well of course cuz your rude and expected me to change my nail color because the nail polish colors aren't organized. This is the last time I come to happy nails. I came here for a fill in and pedicure. My pedicure was rushed and it wasn't very relaxing. My fill in looks a mess and it's only been five days, this service should last two weeks. My nails have lifted and one nail broke, she rushed my paint job. The paint/polish has so many bubbles. So I went based on her suggestion, I  went on a Monday morning and I had a very nice tech named Wendy and my daughter had Vivian .  Beautiful interior, very warm and welcoming and their customer service was great.  Both of our pedicures were done to perfection! More like unhappy nails. It's nice inside but my manicure was horrible. The nail tech was an older Asian woman. Her hands were totally unsteady, she got paint all over my fingers while also somehow managing to miss parts of my nail. She also jabbed me with one of her tools and I bled everywhere. Then he told me that if I want to "be rough and not take care" of my nails it was "on me". I have been here a handful a times, and honestly, I won't come back again. Today, I got a gel pedicure and manicure. I had to tell the tech to use a lighter hand three times before finally telling her to stop (using the white abrasive scrub, my skin was stinging). She cut two of my toes to the bleed point. The manicure was fine -nothing special. Then came time to pay. During my pedicure, the tech asked if I wanted regular or spa. She said spa was $55 so I went with that. When I went to pay, she wrote $55, $25 and $35. I asked her what the $25 was for and she said the pedicure. I asked what the $55 was and she also said pedicure. After arguing with her over why a $55 pedi was now $80, I brought the manager into it. I moved here from Napa, have lived in 9 different states and not once have I EVER paid $80 for a basic spa pedicure. They finally waived the $25 after arguing for five minutes over it. In what world does a suburban nail shop charge $115 for a man/pedi. My legs are still stinging two hours later where she rubbed my skin raw (see photos). Just happened to stumble upon this place! The shop ping plaza it's in leaves a lot to be desired but once you enter the doors of Happy Nails... It's a retreat! So I literally just walked out of this place. I ran here after a long day at work and waited for about 20 mins. I then asked how long the wait would be. She takes me to a bowl where I again sit for another 20 mins. My water went from completely comfortable to cold. I was never offered a beverage. This was the worst experience I ever had Happy Nails. As a male I rarely (never) take the time to visit many (any) nail salons. Social media made me do it...the experience went on Snapchat in real time. Seriously though a friend of mine convinced me to try a manicure while on vacation and it was relaxing and I never realized how much dead skin is hanging out on your cuticles. That positive experience had me curious about the other side...the pedicure. A friend frequents this place and on a personal recommendation I jumped right in. This is a large facility, they have plenty pedi/manicure stations. Of course I got a pedicure. They give you a small plate of fruit and offer you wine, juice or water. Luxurious came to mind as I ate grapes and let my feet soak. I was was surprised to find out that the chairs gave you a massage...very nice. All that flash and glitz was cool but let me tell you about the actual pedicure. They took my nails ALL the way down which was way more than I expected. The exfoliating and filing was alright but the massage was painful. It felt like she lingered on the same spots for minutes that dragged on past the point of being that good type of sore. My pedicure experience wasn't quite as good as the manicure experience. I was told by my sister that $50 for a pedicure is a steep price. Beautiful place! The pedicure experience is awesome, here! They offer you a beverage and fruit, while you are getting pampered. I definitely will be back for pedicures, here! However, as far as a full-set of nails, I haven't had a good experience with those, thus far. I don't get them done very often. Mostly, just for special occasions, but every time I've been, I've had an issue with needing a fill after like 2 days....which is so bizarre, because I've gotten my nails done since I was about 16 and I've never had that happen. Came her for the first time a few weeks ago because I forgot my normal nail lady at another shop was off and I didn't want to wait. I was assigned Anna, she was very kind, catered to my request and when she was done I thought the nails looked great... However, the very next day while just putting my hand down my tip of my index nail popped off! I've learned the art of being careful when you have any kind of acrylic nails with some length so I knew it didn't come off due to me being rough. Then looking further at my nails I noticed that all my nails were very thin and sloppily done, my own natural nail sticking out on the sides not sealed down. I went back that same  day and explained the situation, a very nice young man Toni fixed it, but I found it kind of funny that while he was taking off what remained of the broken nail he was mumbling things like "what are they doing" and showing me how easy it was to take the acrylic off because it was so thin... all before he knew I got nails done there and just yesterday. He fixed the nail and it was thicker than the others, he didn't charge me but I still tipped him anyway because he did the work over something that wasn't his fault. Anna was there with another customer but didn't make eye contact. 6 days later my pinky nail broke, I went to my normal lady at Joy Nail Spa to get a repair and another fill-in a week earlier than I should because who knows how many other tips would've randomly popped of beforehand. Pricey and rarely were my nails done correctly. Also, after 2 weeks with acrylic, if you want to have them trim your nails you have to pay. Which is insane to me. I have had some good experiences here but some really bad experiences as well. I just went and got my nails and eyebrow done. I did not get the name of the woman who "pampered" me but she had long dark hair with blonde highlights and colored contacts in. I got in and told the front desk that I wanted "a really good gel manicure" hoping they would give me someone who would take their time and care about the customer. That is not what I received today. I sat down and was done in 20 mins... nails and eyebrows! Maybe for a gel color change alone that is ALMOST acceptable but I asked for "a really good gel manicure" and then eyebrows were added. Not even half way through my manicure the receptionist came over asking how much longer because there was someone who wanted a pedicure and their eyebrows done. The manicurist said "15 mins" and here I am thinking .. I literally got here a little while ago and you are going to rush me through my manicure and eyebrow wax (which the manicurist asked if I wanted eyebrows done and I said sure) to get to the next customer?? Where's my dedicated time? I am a paying customer too! If you do not have the time to take me and give me good service that I am paying for then don't don't take me at all .. let alone ask me if I would like another service added on! The manicurist made me bleed while trying to cut back my cuticles.  She put oil and lotion on my skin, rubbed it in quickly and said I was done. No massage.. nothing. She was not paying attention to the job she was doing because I ended up with nail polish on my skin that I had to point out at the end so she could fix .... she filed down the gel polish and just wiped it off with a cotton swab with alcohol (I'm assuming). Don't you think another top coat on that nail would've been nice because you just took the top coat off of part of the nail by filing it down?? I am not happy with my service here tonight and wished I had asked for the manicurists name. When I went to pay for the rushed services the receptionist asked me if everything was ok and I replied that I felt my manicure was a BIT rushed. The manicurist was there cashing me out and waiting for her tip (which I always feel is a bit weird). I hope that manicurist understands what I was saying and does not do that to another paying customer. I didn't want to leave a tip at all but I guess I would've felt a bit guilty if I did that. So I left a small tip. Now that I am home and looking at my manicure even closer.. it just does not seem worth $35 dollars at ALL! I could have done this job at my house on my own for FREE. Went in to get a polish change and fix on one of my acrylic nails I waited about 15 minutes which was fine but the receptionist couldn't give an approximate wait time to anyone which annoyed multiple customers. The woman who took care of me was apologetic for the wait and I told her it was fine. She proceeded to fix my nail for me and tell me if I got gel polish change on my nails she wouldn't charge me for the fix "okay". She didn't use the proper dryer for the gel polish leaving it with air bubbles and bumps on it and she also made my nail crooked. Also she did a polish change on my toes and she did it at the manicure table and she ruined them putting my own sandals back on over them and didn't say anything to me when she did or even offer to fix them and I know she had seen what she'd done. My best friend has been going here for years. She goes to Rachel is very happy with her. She'd been trying to get me to go for some time. Finally she got me there by taking me for my birthday. What a beautiful place. Very aesthetic. Much nicer than any salon I have been to.Where most nail spas 'try' to look sophisticated and relaxing they all fall way short. Some come off as mediocre at best, shaggy and cheap at others. Happy Nails is very nice, and has private rooms you can book as well. I haven't seen that anywhere else either. The wall of 'beverages' is impressive and as a champagne aficionado, I was quite happy! I wish you could get more than one glass though. As for the fruit, the watermelon was the best I have had in a while. And they put a grape in the champagne which actually gave it a sweeter taste; ingenious. The chairs are very comfortable and the overall experience was the most relaxing nail salon experience yet. As for the prices, they are pretty much on par with the other places I have been to; maybe a few bucks more, but, you do get a glass of champagne and a plate of fruit...As for the service. I don't know who I had; she didn't introduce herself to me, nor did she talk much. But, I was there with my bestie so that was okay. And she had her regular girl and she did talk with us some. Scheduled my appointment and provided my phone number because I have been present on multiple occasions when someone's appointment was scheduled incorrectly. I always arrive early to pick my color because I am indecisive. I scheduled my appointment for the day after Memorial Day and arrived early. David was my favorite tech and he did my nails that day. During my pedicure another guest was getting mad with the receptionist and David went to check on her in the middle of my pedicure and he comes and tells me that my appointment was for yesterday and that I didn't show up and they called me. That's not the case because I was scheduled to work on Memorial Day and I schedule my appointments based on my work schedule and I would never be at a nail salon on a holiday. It's obvious that my service was rushed to take care of the angry customer. I got a gel manicure that only lasted a week so needless to say I won't be going to David again but specifically Happy Nails again. I do recommend him because I do think he is one of the best and in the past my manicures have lasted 2-3 weeks. When I pay $90+ for a nail service I expect to be treated as a priority. I feel that the receptionist is unprofessional. Even if I was wrong about my appointment decide to just do my pedicure and then give me the option of waiting or having someone else do my manicure. There Is really no reason to make the situation weird for either customer since in the end it's not my fault that the appointments were wrong. While I was paying the receptionist said: "Yeah, I tried to call you yesterday but it went to voicemail!" I had not one missed call. I have never heard her make a reminder call nor have I ever received one. I don't like to be lied to and I don't like to be accused of lying. It was my day off and I have never had a problem waiting for David in the past and wouldn't have had a problem with waiting until after the older woman was done but now they have lost a customer at this location I will be going to Escape in Stafford. This is the nicest nail salon in the woodbridge area! I've been to many nail salons in woodbridge, but this one definitely is the nicest. Don't let the outside fool you! The plaza isn't the nicest or well kept, but when I walked inside I was completely fooled. It has many pedicure chairs, lots of manicure stations, has VIP rooms, & a pretty big wall of nail polishes & wines! They offer fruit plates, cookies, wine, water, & soda. Okay now on to the service! I made reservations for my mom & I Mother's Day weekend and I was expecting a huge chaotic cluster of a place, but it wasn't like that when I arrived. Yes they were busy, but our appointment was at 12:00PM & we were seated no more than 5 minutes later. We were given options of different pedicures & manicure prices & opted for regular manicure & green tea scrub pedicure. It was lovely! I can't remember the name of the lady I had, but she was young & we talked the entire time. She was super sweet & very helpful in every aspect of my visit. My mother enjoyed herself very much!
