My nail tech was out of town, so I did research and I gave this place a chance, because the reviews were fairly good. My nails are medium length, coffin shape, with gel. So I figured it’d be easy to keep my shape, this fill would go well. $45 later, and returning to them twice in 2 days has proved me that you should never trust reviews. I was charged for having “extra long nails” even though I was just getting a fill on medium length. I was charged a regular polish change price. If I am going to pay $45 I want more than just 1 color and a half ass job. She had me filing my own nail straight because she couldn’t see joke crooked and jacked up she had filed my nails. Moral of this, I will not return, but I do appreciate them trying to “fix” it. I guess everyone can’t make a coffin shape or a top straight. Read Less

I really wanted to give a better rating and like this place. It's close to home and lots of co workers rave about this place. I got acrylic nails and pedicure. I heard the pedicures were the best... Not in my case it was rushed and didn't even file my heels! The acrylic looked really good but one of my nails broke off the very next day and another fall off few days afterwards in the shower... acrylic nails shouldn't just break and fall off days after! I also don't like how you have to sit on a bench with your face a foot away from the wall like Your in time out to dry your nails. Definitely will go elsewhere. Read Less

Let's start with the fact that I got a gel manicure on Saturday evening and it was chipped by Monday.Now let me take you through my experience from start to finish. The decor is beautiful and quite peaceful. They accommodated me and 2 other friends simultaneously. However, we all felt as though the pedicure was RUSHED, mind you, we were the only customers in the salon during the time of our services from start to finished. This salon has a very pleasant and relaxing environment. I highly recommend Nina. She is very professional and nice. I went in for a mother/daughter manicure. She made recommendations based on our requests and the condition of our current nails. I got a French manicure with gel, and my daughter had tips applied and SNS. It was exactly what we both wanted. I normally go to Newport News or Hampton to get my nails done. Since I live in Williamsburg I decided to try PinkNails since it has great reviews. My friend & I wanted a girls day so we had an appointment scheduled for 2 gel manicures. The wait was not long at all and the place was not overcrowded. They paid a lot of attention to filing and buffing your nails down. I was impressed and didn't feel rushed. Both my friend & I wanted designs on our nails and I believe Nina is the only one who can do designs. That was the only thing I think they should change by adding another tech who can complete designs so clients aren't waiting for her to be free. I came here for a last minute manicure while I was in town for a friend's wedding. I called the day before and made an appointment for the first time slot in the morning. I was pleased to see they had the OOO infinite shine nail polish as a selection. I selected the OPI infinite shine nail polish knowing it was longer lasting and that it comes with a specific base and top coat. The technician started using their normal base coat and when I asked her about it she said it didn't matter. Well it did, because in less then 24 hrs my nails started chipping. This is my first time in Virginia and both my coworker and I were in dire need to get a gel polish manicure. The interior were indeed pink and it was cute and quaint. They have a moderate amount of selection of gel color and polish color. Some OPI, Gelish, Mood change etc. This time I chose "tiramasu for two" by OPI and I am in love with this color. "Don't bossa nova me around" by OPI was my go to color but today not anymore :). I didn't get my tech's name but she did a great job on polishing my nails. I didnt like the cut on my cuticle but then again, I don't like anyone cutting them because I have dehydrated and thin skin bordering it.  This tech took her time, meticulous, proactive. I just moved to Williamsburg two weeks ago from Hawaii and have been looking for a local nail salon. I found this salon on Yelp and went in for my first visit today. I did not have an appointment and was told that it is best to schedule one here for next time. They were able to squeeze me in and I did not have to wait longer than 10 minutes. I don't normally do reviews but I felt the need to defend the workers at this salon. I was there at the time that the customer who just gave them a 1 star. They incident she talks about where she said they laughed at her, pointed their fingers at her and were rude to her. That is all a lie. They were very nice never raised their voices and did ask her if she wanted them to fix it. She was very rude and was screaming at them. Yes, they spoke to each other in a language she did not understand but it was very quiet and not disrespectful and of course it was about the situation that was happening. I always use Yelp when choosing a nail salon in an unfamiliar city. Usually I have pretty good results, this time not so much. This place nickel and dimes you to death on everything. Three dollars for filing my nails down as part of my fill? Ridiculous. $30 for designs on all my 10 fingernails? Yikes! I decided to go with French tips because that was only five dollars more. Until I chose five different colors. After she asks the boss, the price goes up to $15. What does it matter if I use one color or 5 colors for my French tips? My nail tech did a fine job filling my nails. But that is all I did, I went and bought my own nail polish and finished the job at home. I hate places that nickel and dime their customers, I also did not appreciate every time I asked for something my nail tech had to ask the boss and the additional price seemed exorbitant. My mother and I came in for 2 basic pedicures. We called on Wednesday to make an appointment for later that same day. They were able to get us in perfect. The decor is beautiful and calming with the classic massage chairs. You can tell they keep their equipment very clean. The girls did a very through job. Scrubbing away any imperfection off our feet. I think the prices are very reasonable for doing such an amazing job. The atmosphere feels very calming and almost private. We will definitely make this our new mani/pedi place. Read Less

Came in to get a gel polish manicure as a walk-in. I was immediately brought back to get my old polish removed (needed the soaking) while one of the techs finished up with another client. Vivian was very thorough with my manicure and the gel french polish is perfect! I had asked about art work and I only had to wait a couple of minutes extra as that wasn't her specialty. Jovi asked what I was looking for and I quickly pulled up a couple of pictures. I'm so used to techs only doing one type of flower that I wasn't prepared! She reproduced the picture almost exactly. Great personalized service. They took their time and my mani/pedi did not feel rushed - I actually felt I received a spa-like experience. They were able to fit me in their schedule at the last minute. The color selection was great with reputable brands, as well. My spa pedicure was awesome! I think her name was Cindy and she did amazing massage on my feet and legs. Also got an eyebrow wax, both were great! Very happy with the place, friendly atmosphere and loved that they didn't try to "oversell" other services.Was a walkin and even though busy when I got here didn't wait long. Clean and relaxing . I came from out of town and needed a fill and pedi with shellac. I called and they suggested to make an appointment for 30 mins later which was fine so I could find it. They were short staffed as well but the owner took her time on my nails and made sure to fix any issues I was having and was very detail oriented. I called ahead to see if they could take a walk-in on a Saturday, and I'm glad I did, as the lady on the phone told me they had two parties that day but could take me about an hour from the time of the call. No problem. I arrived at the appointment time, thinking it wasn't going to be a good experience. The waiting area was full of loud and obnoxious ladies drinking box wine (the party!). I had to wait ten minutes past my appointment time, but other than that, everything was absolutely perfect and relaxing.The place is very zen. The lighting is dim, and they were playing Spa music the entire time, which I really liked. Jovi did my mani pedi and they are the best I've ever gotten. I've been going to Pink Nails 88 since they first opened and I am always so pleased when I leave. It's so clean and beautifully decorated. Very peaceful and relaxing... not crammed full of stations like so many other nail salons in town. It is so clean and sanitary which I love. Amazing salon. Clean, great decor, courteous staff and up to date. The salon makes it seem like a real spa with the music and the pedicure stations. It's not overly crowded also they have things to accommodate the little ones who are getting pedicures. The ladies were so sweet and patient to my 1 year old. They did an amazing job on her mani and pedi. The salon looked upscale and they don't overcharge. I love how they took their time most salons in the Hampton roads rush you in and out.
