I've been getting my nails done here for the last couple months and every time, I get a broken nail within a week. When I go to other places, my nails never break. I thought maybe it was my fault, but I realize now it's the salon/technician. On a side note, one of the times I got my nails done here, I was asked why I get gel nails? I explained that I prefer them, even though I keep them short. She proceeded to tell me that I should just do gel polish instead. This bothered me because I felt like she didn't want to take the time to do my nails. I've seen other reviews that people weren't offered water or soda, even though it's complimentary and was offered to others. I have always liked envy nails but on this particular day there service absolutely horrible I was told by the owner when I arrived that the wait was 20 minutes and to come back when I did in that 20 minute time frame I still had to wait 15 minutes before I was in a chair and another 15 minutes for someone to start on my pedicure, I was extremely disappointed so I have not been back since. I was in the area for work and was referred to this place. Went in on Monday for a pedicure/fill-in(Shellac). Had to go back on Tuesday because one of the nails chipped. The tech did a quick "fix" because she had other clients and here I am on Wednesday with not *one* chipped nail but *two*!! I will not waste my money at this place again. I had heard some AMAZING reviews about here via Word of Mouth.... went on a Saturday morning, and got the WORST service EVER. They had set me up in a great spot, and I already had my feet in the water. A couple of women came in together, and wanted to sit together - there was an empty chair next to me, so they moved me to a ratty chair that the remote for the massage didn't work. The woman working on my pedicure was very abrupt, almost rude. Everyone else who came in was offered water or soda, yet I had been offered nothing. Always feel rushed and the technicians are much too rough. Seems like it's quantity over quality here. They also charge the same prices as other locations in Northern Virginia for poor quality. When I first starting going here I really liked the place and friendly staff and recommended it to my coworkers.  However over the years, it has gone downhill.  Their nail polish selection is diminishing (maybe due to gel nail polish??) and their pedicure chairs are wearing and seem to be falling apart.  The staff seems worn out.  The place is usually packed and it doesn't really matter if you schedule an appointment or not, it will take quite a while to get nails done.  Every time I have gone with someone and want to sit next to them it never happens and we usually get off schedule where one is waiting on the other.Today they sat me in the pedicure chair and I sat with my feet in water that had turned cold for 30 minutes.  I decided to leave and then they started to tell me someone would be with me.  I will not be going back. The guy working the front desk asked what services I wanted, I told him and write it on the sign-in sheet. I heard him tell the lady spa pedi. The lady didn't give me what I requested--I received a regular pedicure vs. the spa. Maybe she thought the one black lady in the shop wasn't worth the time, or didn't have the extra $10 for the spa pedi. What makes it even worse is that she did a HORRIBLE job on the regular pedi. When I got back to the station for my mani, I looked as my feet; they looked worse than what they did when I went in. She didn't even put any oil or lotion on then. There were spots of skin that looked like she didn't even touch. I could've done a better job at home. They claimed that the manager was out of town and wouldn't be back until Tue and I could call back then and speak to him about it. Who doesn't have a manager at a nail shop on the busiest day of the week? As soon as the charge hits my account, I'm requesting a charge back for not receiving my goods. If you aren't white, don't even think about coming here...they don't give you the time of day. Even sitting here waiting for my toes to dry (I didn't even waste any more time getting my mani), the white customers, they conversed with, asked them if they would like anything to drink, etc. I didn't even so much as get an apology for getting the wrong service...i even had to lotion my own self after I pointed out my disappointment with the service to the tech. This is by far one of the top nail salons I have ever visited. I've been a client since they opened for business. They do a thorough job and make sure I am satisfied with my nails. Let me preface my review by saying two things 1) I wanted to love this place. I was going for pedicures with a friend who loves the place. 2) My toes do look incredible. So this nail place definitely does a great job on the polish portion of the pedicure. The polish looks perfect and that is the purpose. But, that's where it ends in my opinion. If you do not want your foot razored, you will not leave with smooth feet. I am completely horrified by the thought of razoring skin off my feet, so I always say no to that part. I actually always bring my own foot file because I am so grossed out by that part of the pedicure. The woman acted completely offended that I brought my own stuff and refused the razor. It was bizarre, seeing as I know a ton of people with OCD and otherwise who bring all of their own stuff to pedicures. She hardly even used the foot file and did not touch my big toe at all. I was also put off because I brought my own gel nail polish (top coat, base coat, and color - all from the OPI gel system) and they actually gave me a hard time about using it. Then I was charged an additional $15 to have the gel done, even though it was my own product. I never care about paying extra for convenience but it was just the way the situation was addressed. I normally visit another salon to have my nails done and I often bring my own gel and use it without an up-charge; if there were an up-charge, I am certain it would have been handled better. I was also pressured to use cash and pay the woman directly, so I'm not quite sure if I actually paid when I left because she kept telling me to give her the money. It was just really awkward. All in all, my toes look great but the service and experience was not worth the $40 pedicure. I'm just glad I had a friend there to chat with or I would have felt very uncomfortable. Read Less

Both my mother I have been coming here for the past 5 years every two weeks and could not ask for better service. Worst place I've EVER been to!! I posted public pictures on my page where my toes and fingers were cut. My eye brows were messed up. It's been 11 hours now and my toe is still bleeding. I tried to talk to the owner last night and she took off $5. Really $5 . I went back today and she said there was nothing that they could do but touch up the "color" that was already coming off. I live out of state but anyone locally that has seen me or has had to fix Envy's "mistakes" has said they have always been overpriced, rude, talk badly about their customers, and their work is horrible. Have been going here consistently for the last year or so and never had an issue, however got my typical UV liquid gel fill and they peeled off a week later. I came in today to do a pedi and my nail tech noticed my hands and I told her how I just got them done a week ago (not just gel manicure but liquid gel fill) and SHE told me the manager would fix them for me. Well after she did the pedi I asked the manager (a guy) and he told me no he won't fix it and I would have to pay full price to get them fixed. Soooo unprofessional and unreasonable. Okay, so I get pedicures here and they always do a great job. But I came in to get a UV Gel manicure with extensions, and it was literally acrylic nails with a coat of gel Polish over the finished nail! What a joke, and total deception of the service! I had never been here before, but I got a gift certificate for my birthday and I decided to try them out. I was very pleasantly surprised! I walked in with no appointment and they took me within minutes. They did a great job and were super friendly. I got a gel French manicure and am eyebrow wax. They did a great job on all if it! Kelly is excellent. I have gone to Kelly about eight times. She has done everything for me including: Gel nails manicure, Pedicure, and excellent lip, chin, eyebrows and sides of face waxing. I always get compliments on my nails, and the waxing has never caused me redness nor breakouts (which I have experienced at other salons). They made sure to accommodate my entire bridal party the day before my wedding and had everyone in and out in no time. I have a few friends that go there and love it. I've been a few times and think yes clean yes they get me in fast. Well I went yesterday to get a full set... Left crying. The lady there was mean, rough and rushed me. One hand was longer then the other. most of them were uneven they were so thick I couldn't do anything. My nails were sore I was bleeding. This is where I went for my first ever pedi and I'm hooked.  Haven't had my nails done but I love their pedis and the massage chairs - which are worth the price alone.  I went to another pedi in another town and the massage chairs were so uncomfortable they hurt!   I have been back several times and I am hooked on the service as well  - I was remembered on my 2nd visit 6 weeks after my first.  Prices are good.  They give a discount for cash.  They do upsell, but not a hard push and even the upsell is well worth it and very relaxing and my toes have never looked prettier!
