If you look at all my reviews I feel the need to critique on nail shops because the worst thing a women who cares about her hands and feet is get a horrible mani and or pedi. So I have gotten my nails done here job well done. But when it came to my PEDICURE the guy who did it was entire by far the worst. I had to coach him the entire time. On a scale  of 1-10 he's in the negatives. I'm over getting pedicures by people who can't come through I should learn to do it myself not only will it be cheaper but I can only get mad at myself. I have been going to this nail salon for around 4 years now and I love my nails every single time I leave this salon! I usually have jimmie or lee do my nails and they take pride in their work and they always do an excellent job . They make sure everyone is comfortable, they have a movie or show playing while your waiting/getting your nails done, and they take their time constantly asking if you like your nails so far and make sure that you always have a smile on your face.  I have not been to another nail salon and i don't plan on it either. If you happen to break a nail they fix it for free. Their prices are extremely affordable for the amount of work they put into your nails. Decided to go here with a friend today and got a nice pedicure, but while Jimmie was doing my nails, he was drilling my nails so fast (because of how busy and short staffed they were) and it started burning. He apologized and I said it was ok. Then he asked where I had gone previously and I told him to a place by the base in Norfolk (because I live on base). His reply "oh the ghetto" . I let him continue to work on the shaping and when I looked at my nails, they were really narrow. He asked if they looked ok and I said "they're more narrow than I usually get them, but it's ok." He said "you asked for coffin shape and they're not that narrow." I replied "it's ok, it's ok." Then he responded by saying "do you know I'm a master nail tech." That was it for me. I had to get my eyebrows done badly and I was passing here on my way to the highway so I decided to stop here instead of my usual place. I don't know about how they do their nails but do not get your eyebrows waxed here! They do it in a chair in front of everyone! Every nail place I've ever been to takes you to a private room in the back and has you lay down. My neck hurt so bad from having to keep it up in the chair while she was doing it. Then once I left I had to go back to my usual place the next day to get them done again because so many stray hairs were there and it was very obvious I needed them trimmed too and that was not done. As I say in the chair the lady also said "just eyebrows, no lip?" I've never got my lips waxed and didn't think I needed them done. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Now, I'm picky about my nails! But when I tell you, I loved my experience...I LOVED IT! My sister in law referred me to this location & I adored how the employees treated everyone! Danielle was the best! She held great conversation and was really honest! I will definitely continue to get my pedicures with her. Jimmie, the GOAT, lol did his thing on my nails! He corrected my shape and length for stiletto. He then did one of the best designs I've ever seen on my nails for my birthday. He definitely has permanent client! This place is amazing!!! Jimmie did my nails, I found him on Instagram and immediately fell Inlove with his work (@jimmieusnailspa)  and had to get my nails done by him before I leave Virginia Beach! Jimmie is the bomb! Yes you have to wait a long time but that's because most people who go only want to see one person and Jimmie is always busy. The shop is fast pace and has a fun environment. Personally I don't like going into a shop where no one speaks English and I sit there the whole time talking to no one. I love this location. I moved to Virginia Beach in 2009 and to be quite honest I haven't found a place where they made me feel comfortable. I've been to many nail technicians and I was never satisfied until now. Jimmie is the only one that has done my nails. My first experience he was very funny and knowledgeable. He's extremely professional and a perfectionist when it comes to doing nails. Very prideful and he makes sure you are happy with your nails. He doesn't rush, however his service is fast. If you're worried about price you're at the right place. I've paid less here than at other place and in return I receive great business, polite customer service and quality. I've tried almost every salon in the Virginia Beach area and this is by far my favorite. Everyone was very nice and even with a few people already waiting, the wait time was minimal. When I showed them the inspiration picture of the nails I wanted Jimmie went above and beyond. They turned out better than I imagined. I was previously seeing the same nail tech for the past 15 years!  Unfortunately she moved out of the area and I was left searching for a new nail salon!  I'm VERY picky about my nails. I tried 12 different salons in Virginia Beach, primarily in the lynnhaven and redmill areas, and I left disappointed every time. A friend referred me here and I am so happy she did!  I have been coming here for a few months and I have never had any issues. The staff is personable and fun so it makes the environment feel fun too. Both Jimmie and Lee have done my nails and I have loved them each time.  For the quality they provide, they're prices are extremely reasonable.  The service is fantastic, and they always get me in and out quickly!  I don't see myself every going anywhere else!  You'll love them!  Because they are so good, they are always super busy, but no one minds waiting because the finished product is well worth it!  The only thing I wish could be different would be taking appointments.  I'm a busy, working mom of two, and I rarely have any "free time". Let me start of by saying when I went for the first time...it was Valentine's Day. I got a full set and a spa pedicure. Now, I usually have a full set but I had taken them off for a few weeks to let my nails breathe. It being Valentine's day, I was patient...I didn't have anywhere to be. The young lady who did my pedicure was very nice and attentive. When I was sat down to get my nails done the young lady suggested a different shape and it came out really nice. My issues came once I left with my nails. They did say if I had any issues within a week to come back...I am usually in and out of town so I don't necessarily have time. I noticed that once I left the polish was pooled at the base of my nail, very sloppy, she didn't drill under my nails so I still had acrylic formed under my nail which catches debris and whatever so that's why it's important to not have that. Then the part that pisses me off the most is a lot of my nails have raised, so they get caught up in my hair or my clothes in less than 2 weeks! They raise so much I've already broken a nail and had to buy nail glue to temporarily hold the rest until I can find time to get them redone. So I actually found this place on Instagram (jimmieusnailsspa) and was amazed by the talent that I saw so I decided to give it a try because the current place I was going to was becoming too pricey. I came here on a Thursday morning right after they opened (10:15 am) and the place was already swarming with customers. I was immediately greeted and asked what I needed. I stated that I wasn't sure since I was coming from another salon and typically would need a fill but wasn't sure if extra work would need to be done since my nails were in bad shape. I was probably 5th in line so I expected to wait a bit. They had a good movie playing on the large flat screen tv so I tuned into that while I waited.I had one technician remove my current polish, one technician soak my nails and then I finally met Jimmie. He is amazingly talented. I told him I wasn't really sure what I wanted but he said we would figure out something. He came up with a light pink holographic ombré. Since the place I was coming from charged me around ~$45-50 for a gel fill (no design just polish) I was expecting it to cost around $60. He told me my total would be $35. I was astounded and excited to see the final results. He took his time and is definitely a perfectionist. He also told me that anytime something that happens to my nails (i.e. One breaks, etc.) to come in and he will repair it free of charge. He takes great pride in his work and said he wants his work to be represented to the public in a positive way. Great business strategy. I was extremely happy with the overall results and I have decided that this will definitely be my new nail place. They are very affordable and take time to please their clients. Jimmie kept me laughing the whole time. Lee did an amazing job on my nails. They charge a fair price for the extras: gel polish and rhinestones. Place looks like a typical strip mall nail salon but don't let that fool you, the service is spectacular! They even took a nice photo of my nails and sent it to me (smart business strategy!) What impressed me is they clearly have a regular clientele. They interacted with the kids customers brought in, they asked about family and greeted everyone by name. However, I didn't feel out of place as a first timer-they are so friendly and relaxed, they didn't rush at all even though I was an evening walk in.
