My nails look pretty decent, and the woman working with my husband did a great job with his manicure/pedicure, but the woman working on me was horribly rough on my cuticles. I wound up bleeding in two different places around my fingers. She also used the cuticle clippers to trim off skin around my fingertips where she'd gotten excess polish, leaving my thumbs looking pretty chewed up around the tips. As other reviews have noted, too, they do a lot of upselling, but that part is pretty common to nail salons. EDIT: A few days later, I have to add that I've now had the polish start peeling off of two nails. Very disappointing for a gel manicure, which should have lasted a couple of weeks. Amazing staff. Clean salon. I love Annie, she makes an effort to learn your name, what you like and don't like, I have been coming here for about a year now. I make the 1 hour+ drive down every two weeks just to come to this salon. There are salons in my town walking distance from my house but the customer service here is exceptional, everyone is kind and talented. Never been to salon cleaner than this one and I have been getting my nails done since I was 9 years old, so about 14 years of going to nail salons and this is definitely the best. I see previous reviews mention the high prices.. pricing is listed on the website and it is the same when you come into the salon they don't try to "scam" you there, I personally don't think the pricing is expensive I think it's more than fair especially when it is accompanied by such amazing customer care and service. I also see the complaints of up-selling, every where you go the try to up-sell even when you go to McDonald's however any time I have said no, they never went ahead did it anyway. If I could give Annie and everyone here more than five stars I would. The whole team is amazing, patient, and kind. I recommend this place to everyone. My favorite nail place ever! Read Less

I have been going to Annie for a couple years now and am always pleased with the way my nails turn out. I get acrylics and am very picky, she does a fantastic job everytime. The place is very clean, priced well and  they take walk ins as well as appointments. I've seen a few different nail techs there and they all do a wonderful job! Average. I found it a bit expensive for a regular pedicure. I must've gotten the new girl. She barely filed my toenails. Cuticles barely clipped. An hour and a half later, I notice a bunch of small bubbles in the polish. I wish I just did them my self and saved myself the money. Polish on my skin even after she attempted to clean it up. I have a love/hate relationship with nail salons. I love being pampered and how my nails look. I hate nail technician who try to upsale and push you into other treatments. I came in for my bi-weekly full early. My nails were barely grown out but I had an acrylic pop off, and needed emergency services. My nail tech told me my nails were too grown out. She told me I should take my nail extensions off and put new ones one. She told me I should do gel powder instead. I know what I like, as I have been getting my nails done for years. I repeatedly declined her pushy suggestions. The final straw is when she looked up at me saying, "you need eyebrow wax today" as she stared right at my ideas. I personally find that offensive, as she is telling me I need to fix my eyebrows. I said no, and she asked if I get mine done at the salon. I commented no, and she kept pushing for me to tell her where I get them done.As far as nails, my nails look pretty fantastic. Its just a shame the customer service of the nail tech will prevent me from returning. Read Less

As noted in earlier reviews, this place is meticulously clean for a strip mall salon. Bags in the pedicure chairs, coats/name tags for the staff, clean equipment, etc. There are probably 10 or 13 types of pedicures available, and I personally found it handy to see them clearly articulated and differentiated on a sheet with pricing (vs an unclear, vague explanation from a staff member at other places I've been). I just can't get over the price - my usual shellac Mani and regular pedi is $50-55, and they charged $68 (the price sheet said it'd be $62, but I think I had an upcharge for callous removal) - it's not so much I wouldn't consider going back, but it does give  me pause - althoug the polish brand I wasn't familiar with (not OPI, but can't remember exactly), so perhaps it's somehow better - only time will tell! This is by far the WORST nail salon I've been to. I tried coming here a few times to give it a shot but my last experience was horrible. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I asked for a shellac mani and regular pedi and Kim was unfortunately my nail technician...she shouldn't have a job doing this. Shes unaware and doesn't even know nail colors. She brought me 4 WAY different colors until I gave up and just chose one off the shelf instead of the nail wheels. And then she proceeds to give me a "timed massage." She might as well have not even wasted my time. And then she proceeds to mess up my toes...the absolute easiest part. I go onto my shellac mani and she tried to start putting new nail polish over nails that STILL had specs of my old mani. After she finishes, you could still see the layers as it wasn't evenly done. I was frustrated and the manager Annie says she can re do them. She proceeds to take off the shellac and cracks my pinky nail and tried to blame it on me! I didn't have any chipped or cracked nails. I told her to cut them all down evenly cause I just wanted to leave ASAP. She offers to "fix" my nail and goes on to tell me that she's been doing this for 19 years...however your mani did not give evidence of this. At check out, I didn't expect a discount cause I figured that they wouldn't do that but then she has the audacity to say "I should charge you $5 for the nail fix but I won't this one time." What? SHE cracked my nail and then tried to charge me after this 3 hour long service? It didn't even take 4 hours until my nails started chipping...with shellac and paying $62 for this crappy service. Favorite nail place in the area and I live in Chantilly.  Since I work in Herndon I'll sometimes make a trip up there to get a pedicure, it's really nice and peaceful and very relaxing.  I hate a place with a lot of TVs and noise and they just have nice quiet music and a TV with captions on in the background.  Everyone is very friendly and I have never had a bad service there! I went out of my way to come to this salon after a lady on the phone told me they r very good with coffin shaped nails and also nail art.  Couldn't have been further from the truth. Not only r they pricey NY fingers r latterly burning. I have a thin spot on my nail and she kept drilling over it even with my noticeable pain. It was obviously she wanted to be doing anything other than my nails.  She she polished so carelessly polish was literally flying onto her hand. So much so she had to stop n wipe it clean 3 times. I came to this salon two weeks ago, and although it is a beautiful salon, lots of technicians, I won't be back. I called and made a same day appointment for a mani pedi. I had seen the prices on line and thought they were reasonable. When I got there I chose a gel color (they have a lot to choose from) and sat down for my pedicure. I asked her what she thought of putting acrylic on my nails and if she had time to do it. She agreed. I was handed a laminated menu of pedicures. I do know/understand that these are "upgrades" to what their prices. But how much more could it be right? I chose the one called butter baby. It wasn't anything I above a regular pedicure, just had a scrub on my legs and then a hot towel. No parison wax which is why I chose butter baby. The message was ok but as she went on, it was painful on my shins. Next we moved to a mani station where she started my nails she added two tips to to fingers and began to apply the acrylic. It was at this point that someone walked in and was clearly one of her regulars and I became irrelevant. She didn't put acrylic on the rest of my nails but just went ahead and painted my nails with the gel color as fast as she could. (With her regular sitting close by just staring and waiting for her to finish). When we are done I go to pay and it is 105.00!!!  I have never in my life paid 105.00 for nails. When I asked about what the charges consisted of she charged me for for every item. I was even charged for having the same bottle of gel polish for my toes and hands. Yes - two additional charges to the mani/pedi. Is this the new trend?   Anyway, the next day?  My thumbnail began to lift and peel. Each day after another nail lifted and began to peel. Dropped in for a pedi without an appointment.   I was taken right away but I was not impressed by the pedi.   I chose the "classic Spa pedi" but added on callouse removal since I had not had a pedi since October.   I didnt see her do anything extra and my feet were not all that smooth when I left.   The place was clean so not a horrible experience but I dont think I will go back. The salon is clean and the staff are nice. I asked for a full set and the lady was just taking too long. You can consider me a picky person but I know good work when it's done properly. She kept applying acrylic 5-6 times on one nail and still didn't not go close to my cuticle area. Some nails were not shaped straight and left slanted. I went to this place last minute since my normal place was all booked up and I needed to get my nails done ASAP since one broke off and another one was coming off. They were able to accommodate me last minute.Ni was doing my nails and she informed me that usually they charge for nail repairs but she wasn't going to charge me which was great. I was happy with the lady originally doing my nails, Ni, until she started painting my nails. It was a hard color to paint, pretty creamy so I was ok with just picking another color rather than having streaky nails. The manager (I think) Annie had an issue with this and told her to go do someone else's nail and that she would paint mine. She started getting an attitude with me saying I just need to pick a color and get it painted, she wasn't understanding that the nail tech had a problem painting the color, not me. She kept giving me attitude but I brushed it off. She did end up painting my nails nicely. I gave her my card to charge, I was under the impression it's going to be $30 as I was quoted but she charged me $48. When I asked why she said its nail repair then I told her that the lady doing my nails said I wouldn't be charged for that. Then she says no I've been doing nails for a long time and we always charge of you get your nails done normally you would know. At this point I just ended up walking out and not arguing any further. Not super impressed with this place. The three stars are for the interior (clean, brightly lit and sanitary...bowl liners were used for pedicures!) and the lady who serviced me (very sweet). This place is EXPENSIVE. I piad $65 for a mani and pedi....that's the record so far. Usually it's around $40, at the most.The polish job itself...meh. Sloppy. She had to go back with remover and dip brush around -every- single nail. And they weren't even perfect, after that. She did take her time, and it wasn't the worst I've had...but the polish starting chipping literally the day after my pedicure, and two days after on my hands. This may be due to the fact that oils and lotions were still on my nail beds after the treatments, but it's your job as a nail tech to take care of that. It could also be due to the fact that many of their polishes looked old...separated.I also elected to add paraffin dip (feet) and callous removal (feet). My feet aren't bad, at all. A little dry skin, but nothing major. I noticed my callouses in the same spot as usual the next day after I had showered and my feet weren't super moisturized anymore. I probably won't be back. My sister has followed Annie from salon to salon for years, and now that she opened one of her own we are really excited that she will be in this location for a while! She is amazing -- literally does the best work of anyone I have ever been to. I walked in today's for a pedicure and was a little nervous to get a pedicure from someone else, but this person was also fantastic. I give this place an A-ok.  It's about the same as most strip shopping center nail salons.  I primarily use Tina because she is recommended by a co-worker.  Most of the time I have an appointment but  I still have to wait.  That's a little annoying. Gel manicures last the usual length of time.  My last pedicure didn't last too long.  Not sure why.  There is nothing special about what they do or what they offer for the price.  The last two times I went, it was during lunch and the place was empty.  Not sure when their busy time is - but lunch time is not it!  If you are concerned about hygiene this may be the place for you.  They cover the pedicure bowls with plastic (I think it's a little weird) and the tools appear to be sanitized after each use.  Tina is very friendly and competent.  I've never been to anyone else. Under new management! Brand new renovation.This place is a 180 from where it was the first time I walked in. Everything from floor to ceiling is brand new! Annie is who I see and she is very skilled especially at pink & whites. There is plenty of staff to go around, as each time I come in they are busy busy. I love that the new pedicure sink bowls have a plastic cover so that your feet are the only ones that contact the bowl! Great sanitation that I have never seen anywhere else. I love this place. When I think about how eventually I am going to move from Sterling, my first thought is loosing my go-to nail place (sad face). It is now under new management and has had a modernized and clean interior remodel as of a month ago? Bring cash for tips but the ATM does not charge a fee anyways. I go for Le- the others seem great too though! I have known her for more than 3 years now from her old place. She is the sweetest little lady I know! She has done a great job, with attention to detail, since day one. She texts me to remind me when to come in and remembers my birthday! She does not up-sell and gives great massages.
