Terrible service. Despite having an appointment they made me wait 45 minutes and took other people that had an appointment at the same time before me, although I reached before my appointment and was waiting. When I asked how much I had to wait the manager said 5 minutes they didn't start my pedicure for 40 minutes, I got there at 3:50 appointment at 4 and I wasn't helped till 4:46. Would not recommend. There are tons of other salons nearby that have more professional staff and recept appointment time. I am very disappointed in this salon. I came here based off of the reviews; well my experience was much different. I came in for a gel manicure and pedicure on a Saturday evening. I was serviced by Christina (who I was later told is the manager or the owner). The pedicure turned out okay, typical, nothing to write home about. Things went downhill with the manicure. I asked for a bottle of water (while other patrons were offered water or wine) & Christina rolled her eyes, didn't acknowledge my request, and set a bottle down on her station like it was an issue for her.  Secondly, Christina did not remove all of the orange polish I had on before, and the removal process was pretty harsh. She wasn't patient enough to give the polish time to soak off, so she pretty much removed most of it scraping a layer of my nail off and buffing much of the service off. I am used to my nail tech allowing time for the polish to soak off. The manicure itself was again, decent. The issue came into play with the polish. It looks HORRIBLE. It looks nothing like the photo that it should look like. I picked OPI "A Grape Fit" one of my favorite colors. Well, the polish on my toes looked fine, but the polish on my hands looks terrible. It is grayish color on most of the nail with purple color on the tip. I was immediately unsatisfied, and I pointed out to Christina and she literally just shrugged and said: "that is how the color is." I paid my $64 and left immediately regretting my choice to come to this salon. After showing my husband and the look on his face, I decided that they I needed to get some money back. I went back to the salon and asked to speak to the Manager or the Owner. I was greeted by Christina who ONLY said: "hold on, have a seat." I assumed that they would be going to get the manager and after waiting for 7 minutes, I asked when the manager would arrive. She said responds by only by pointing at the customer at her station & holding up a finger signaling wait. I was appalled that she didn't say that when I initially asked. A simple explanation that she was the manager and she would be with me shortly would have been nice.  There was a woman on the phone by the cash register. I waited for her to end her call and again asked for the manager or owner and she said that it was Christina. I showed her my nails & she immediately made a face and said they would fix them. She even noted the bubbles in my polish that I didn't even say anything about.  I explained to her I didn't have time and that I was hoping to get my money back for the gel polish at the very least (I was willing to pay for the manicure). She said they do not do that. I left out without saying anything further. I am beyond disappointed in this salon. Attached is a photo of my nails and the photo of the color they should have been. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I made an appt for 2 SNS manicures @2:30pm. My MIL began her nails about 10 mins before me, but no one started on my nails until 2:55- that's a bit too late considering I had an appt. other than that- nothing but great things. I was offered a drink while I was waiting and once Helen started my nails. Helen was so friendly and paid attention to detail, which I really look for and appreciate! This was my first SNS manicure and she was kind and answered all of my questions. She did a fantastic job and ended the experience with an unexpected but extremely enjoyable neck massage! My pedicure was awesome. Hanah worked on my toes and gave me the foot massage from heaven. The price was right!  I would give 5 stars for the pedicure and brought down my overall review to 4 stars because of my eyebrow wax, which was not great. The shaping was poor and although I asked the girl (not Hanah) to do the shape better she still didn't get it on the second try so I cut my losses and paid the $10 plus $2 tip and left. Honesty overpriced and looks nothing like the photos. I got a full set and so did my mother. We didn't use gel on our toes. We let our toes dry for over and hour and they still smeared. If you go I only recommend they acrylic nails and they gel. The service is fine. They charge $10 to take a sponge with paint on it and only on the tips or "ombré". I got a almond shaped nail and it was $5 extra. I also got gel on my nails and I think it was $10 more. The normal acrylic nails without a coffin or almond shape, gel, and ombré costs $30. My personal total was $55 without tip or tax. Extremely expensive. For matte it costs $10 too. Read Less

I've been here twice. The first time was a good experience, so 2 stars vs. 1. My mani and pedi were well done and looked great. The staff, however, left a lot to be desired. Upsells and rude comments. I only went back because the work itself was great. The second time, they acted like I was bothering them to come in without an appointment (there were 3 customers there and 5 or 6 employees. They got me seen immediately but I was very put off by it. Then the upsells and rudeness kicked in and reminded me why I didn't care for the service to begin with. While there, 2-3 others trickled in so it wasn't like an appointment was actually needed. I only got a pedicure the second time and it was so sub-par, I will never return again. The polish was nice but they barely cleaned up my toes the way I expect and pay for. I was already so put off by the experience that I didn't raise a fuss, paid and left. When paying, they all but demanded a tip (I always tip, wasn't not going to tip) and then pressured me to use cash. I get it, most nail places want cash tips but it should never be required. I rarely have much cash on me and I always feel like it is a way to avoid taxes or pay people under the table when a cash tip is demanded. Read Less

I went for the first time with my girlfriends. I no longer live in the area, but my girlfriends have both been before and had nothing but good things to say. When I first walked in, the first thing I noticed was how clean and orderly it looked. The way the label their nail polish and have the display colors set out for customers to browse was amazingly refreshing. Being a bit OCD, their organization was impressive. Once I chose my color, I was seated and asked if I'd like anything to drink. My friends got wine and I stuck to water. They then offered me a heated neck pillow. The chairs were nice and the foot/leg massage was AMAZING! My nail tech was Kim, and she gave the best foot/leg massage I've ever gotten while getting a pedicure. She took her time and made sure there was no polish past my cuticles. After my pedicure, I got seated to get my gel manicure. She was a little rough while doing my cuticles, but it wasn't a super big deal since her attention to detail was on point. Plus, my cuticles were in really bad shape... her hand/arm massage was great, but the neck/shoulder massage she gave me after my manicure was outstanding! This place definitely wants to make sure you're comfortable and satisfied. My total came out to $64, which I thought was a bit high, but it was definitely worth every penny with all the added perks. Really cute place. I had Hellen and she did an amazing job. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because my mom had asked for tips instead of gels and the woman that was helping her said that she "didn't have time". Turns out that that woman was the owner. Wasn't the greatest first impression to be denied a simple service that only takes 5 extra minutes. Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!Having 4 hours before a flight out of Dulles, I walked in for a fill/gel pedi.  I was seen immediately.  I requested to the "interpreter" i had gel polish. While finishing the pedi (which came out amazing), another lady put foil solution on my nails.   I thought it was to take off the polish (ignorant me,  I truly didn't know better).  I go to sit in the chair & come to find out muy acrylic was completely off. The lady who was initially nice to me spreaking English in chit chat,  starts doing my hand when i told her i didn't want my nails off, just a fill.   She then gets pissed,  gets short w/ me & starts talking in vietnamese to the interpreter.  Rollin n her eyes. She then walks off to act like she's getting something. By this time, 2 hrs pass & i didn't have time nor did i WANT to be there anymore. I asked get to just remove the remaining acrylic & do a quick clean up bc i had to leave. With a fake smile,  she gives me a 20% off my full set off i returned.  THAT'S IT.I still paid for the great pedi, but I NOT be returning. BEAUTIFUL place,  UGLY people/service. Read Less

I feel like it's hard to find a good nail salon, so I am so happy I came across this place today! I used to go to another nail salon down the road, but since the last two times I've gone, my nails have been just OK - nothing spectacular. Tonight was my first one visiting this place, and I can without a doubt say this is my new place! All the girls there are so sweet, and the place is extremely clean compared to others. Also, I will second another review I've read about this place - definitely more of a spa feel to it rather than a busy nail salon. This is my favorite nail salon! I stopped in here for a mani/pedi before my bachelorette weekend with my bridesmaids. I had a really great experience here. When I first arrived, they were busy and put me on the list for a little bit later. I came back when it was time, picked my colors, and was seated for my pedicure. I had to wait a while to get started, but the girl that did my nails was very nice and did a great job. I ended up staying about an hour after the salon closed, but they were kind enough to let me stay to get my nails done. I did have to pay before I was done so they could close out the register, but they still did a great job! Read Less

Very disappointed- made an appointment to get a mani-pedi with a friend. They seated us in the spa chairs and started in her- NOBODY attended to me or even let me know they were running late. As my friend was finishing up her pedi I said that I'd been there a half hour - they said they would go check- 15 minutes later still nothing. My friend was onto her mani by this time. I had enough and let them know I was leaving. No offers of a gift card or voucher. Not a good way to do business. Definitely enough salons in the area- I suggest you skip this one! Read Less

The first time I came here, I was blown away by the services. Don't be deterred by the outside of this salon! It's a lot bigger on the inside than it looks. This nail salon has a very relaxing atmosphere and I can tell strives to remain a cozy and clean place. It truly does feel like a spa and is different from other nail salons I've been to around this area that well...feels like your typical busy salon.The second time I came here, it was a bit frustrating due to some circumstances, but I decided it was just an off day and will keep my five stars for now. Especially since my nail technician, Cristal, is very sweet and always does a great job. I had made an appointment for four people at 7PM on a Friday night for pedicures. The first person didn't have their nails started on until 7:30PM, and I was the last person that got my nails started on at 8:00PM (they were extremely busy with prior clients). I got a gel pedicure and it came out to be $48 before tip. It's a little pricier than other places, but not by a huge amount. Everyone really enjoyed their time here so it made up for the long wait.The pros of this place: The environment, the cleanliness, the massage chairs while you get your pedicures done, warm towels, extremely friendly nail technicians, affordable pricing, and the longevity of your nail work (the last time I got a gel pedicure here, it lasted for about a month and a half).The cons: I don't have any cons except the wait at my last visit.I can tell they really care about their customers, the quality of their work, and their reputation as a salon, which is why I kept the five stars despite the mishaps at my last visit. I came here because of the great reviews on here. Came on a Saturday early afternoon and they were booked. I had them put me and my daughter down for 3:30. Overall I was satisfied with the service. Clean. A lot of colors to choose from. And I loved the fact they use the disposable liners for the pedicure tub. I got the gel manicure and a basic pedicure. They charged 5 bucks more for removing the dead skin from my feet, I noticed salons are starting to do that now. So of course I told her to add it, I mean that's the main reason I wanted a pedicure. Lol! During the pedis they give you warmed lavender scented neck pillow. My daughter wanted a full acrylic set but they don't do that. They do what is called the SNS, I guess it's gel powdered nails. Supposed to be organic and nontoxic. Each nails is dipped in the powder. And it was 40 bucks. This place is a bit pricey. But I liked it. Read Less

I'm always hesitant of a place that has such good reviews but I must say the rumors are true. This is my new go to nail spot in Herndon/Sterling. From the outside this place looks like a random strip mall nail salon but as soon as you walk through the doors you're transported to a relaxing spa. The decor is beautiful and the shop is very very clean. I got the regular base pedi and a gel manicure with my precious gel polish soaked off. With the Yelp coupon I only paid $57. I was shocked and delighted.When I walked in I was instructed to sign in on an iPad and shown the gel colors. The woman also showed me specific colors that I could get as regular polish on my feet and gel on my hands so they'd match and I really appreciated that. The gentleman that did my nails was friendly though not chatty, which is how I prefer it though some people what to sit and talk with their techs. My pedicure has lasted 2+ weeks and I'm only just in need of having my mani redone. They use plastic liners for the pedicure basins which I love. Definitely recommend and will absolutely return. I have been looking for a nail salon for the past couple of years.It was trial and error everywhere I went,and thanks to everyones wonderful reviews below I decided to check this place out.The first thing I noticed when I walked in aside from the beautiful aesthetic of the place was "there is no harsh nail polish  smell" Nothing to overwhelm me and leave me with a headache.Everything about this place was nice .It is very clean and tidy ( they use the hygenic plastic covers for pedicures)  .. I got a basic mani and pedi just to try out since it was my first time, and she did a great job,she took her time I was also treated to a neck rub by the owner I beleive Enough of the blabber I think I've found my permaent nail salon the only con is that it is 30 min out from where I live but sometimes you have to travel a little further for good quality work..I would definitely recommend this place!!!Oh yes my nail technician name was thuy I found her card!!!! Have to admit that I was highly suspect about a 5 star nail salon in a strip mall in Sterling and was pleasantly surprised. Serenity is one of the best nail salons I've been to. Really pleasant experience.Called on a Sunday morning for an appointment and was able to be seen in a couple of hours. Got to the salon and was asked to sign in on their iPad and create an account if I wanted to start with their member rewards program. Both the iPad and member rewards program were firsts for me for a nail place. I opted for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. I was told to pick from a specific set of colors so that I could have an exact match for my fingers and toes. Perhaps I've been going to a crap places where I live in Alexandria, but this impressed me. Usually I pick a gel polish for my fingers and then the nail technician hunts for a suitable match for my toes that usually isn't a perfect match. Serenity has a line of polish that works for gel manicures and regular pedicures so it's a perfect match! Say whaaa! After that moment of glee, I was seated at a pedicure station and given a heated neck warmer. So nice! Really small gesture that added a level of sophistication to the place that I've not encountered anywhere else except for very expensive salons. While my neck was warming and feet were soaking, I was presented with a menu for a complimentary beverage and ordered a glass of decent chardonnay (they check IDs, as they should). The pedicure chairs have an attached table that has a hole specifically made for wine glasses so you're not stuck trying to balance the wine glass and your book/magazine while you're getting your toes did. Wonderful attention to detail. My nail technician for the day was Mimi. She presented with a full menu of spa services in order to decide which pedicure I wanted. Everything is laid out in writing so there's no room for error. Mimi did a fabulous job and one of the better leg/foot massages I've had in my life. Next time I may pay for the extended massage service. Mimi did an equally great job with the gel manicure and even threw in a short neck massage after she was done applying the layers of polish. She was extremely professional and was in tune with whether or not I wanted to talk. I really love that. Sometimes people just talk and talk and I don't want to talk and it can get awkward. Yet sometimes I do want to make a bit of small talk and she was into it. She is great at the technical and human aspects of the job and is really everything I've ever wanted in a nail technician. Left the salon for a price of $69 for a gel mani and whatever the middle pedicure is called, which is only four more dollars than I usually pay for a gel mani and bottom of the barrel pedicure. This frankly was worth more as the whole experience was a joy. Honestly, most nail places stress me out a bit as most places leave something to be desired. They're loud, unclean, rude, etc. Serenity was quiet, serene, clean, tastefully decorated, and everyone was pleasant. Serenity is a step above and surpassed my expectations, which is always a wonderful surprise. Thankfully, I am in Sterling often enough that I will be a repeat custom. Added bonus - Today I received a holiday card in the mail. WHAT OTHER NAIL SALON DOES THAT????????!!!!!! So nice! Read Less
