I went here for service feb 24. A blond young man did my nails. I explained previously that i had not come in a while due to a worker filing my nails so badly when filling it caused my actual nail to break in the middle and my nails had to heal. He suggested something called a dip nail that lasts a month charged me 50 & i gave 10 tip. Monday 7 nails popped. They lasted less than 3 days. I went in Monday showed them what happened and they shoo'd me out said they were busy and... to come back Tues. I came back to have them fixed. I was told that it was my nail and not their fault. Kelly fixed /worked my nails this time.all the while actually flicking my fingers with hers and it hurt!! I felt so bad that i had to come back even tipping her fir fixing them. I had come to them for years.It is now sunday march 4th. I have had to re glue 1& 2 more have popped. I came in and asked they remove them. My hands looked awful. I was met with blame attitude, disrespect today.kelly even clipped my finger while removing the dip. I had to pull my hand away. Kelly got loud with me in the store putting her hand up saying i could leave and they would not be servicing me further due to my nails. No refund was offered. Again in total i paid 65.I have been going to that salon since 2005. I have never been treated so badly! Even other workers chimed in with further loudness and disrespect. I have never left a bad review before but I'm very disappointed in this salon. I wouldn't want another woman to get this treatment. Sooo... I get my nails done like this all the time and have never had this issue. they were nice at first but my dipped and shellac nails chipped three days later, they fixed them without charge but than the others began chipping the day after that so it had barely been a week when I got home from vacation.... I went in to get them fixed but they wanted to charge me for it.! So 6 chipped nails in a week- not cool. I was going to let it slide that they lady put silver sparkles on my pedicure without me asking. She said "it'll last longer" but that's not what I agreed to. I only go to this establishment because of Kelly! She is the BEST in getting my eyebrows correct. Never too thin just absolutely PERFECT! Horrible service! We went for pedicures on Friday. Picked out a polish. Kelly (owner of shop and posted on this yelp in the picture section) stated with the yellow color on the Toes, she wanted to add a base of white. She added 3 coats of white, 3 coats of yellow nail polish and then a clear polish. The polish was very thick. As usual, i got a design. Realized the polish was just way too thick. Contacted Kelly on Monday- she asked me to come back Tuesday because she was leaving early but she would fix it. Went back Tuesday- she says she has to do the same color (knowing that color doesn't show well) ok fine. Then when you get there she said I need to come back Thursday because the girl that did my feet gets paid on commission. I know for sure it was Kelly that painted my feet- but she claims she was helping! LIES! And now she wants to charge me to fix my feet. So then she says she has to leave the design on the big toe because she would have to charge for that even though SHE did the design! and she thinks this is acceptable! WHAT! Unbelievable- the customer service to new clients isn't to par. When did the customer care about what their employees get paid...that's something she needs to dea with behind the scene. The customer is always first. I paid and tipped her. Then she wants to get quiet when you complain because she is dead wrong. Went in as a walk in today for a gel manicure. Johnny rushed the whole manicure. The gel was sticking my nail to my finger, there was polish on my skin... gel on my cuticles... like really!? If you're looking for a 1/2 way decent job, or looking to treat yourself- don't come here. They will charge you $35 for the worst gel manicure ever. And to top it off- he pulled his manicure tools out of his drawer- NOT CLEANED! Ill be lucky not to end up with an infection.Read Less

Writing this review is an incredibly difficult thing to do. The owners here are husband and wife and they work incredibly hard at keeping their salon running smoothly and making sure all the customers are happy.  Based on witnessing interactions with regular customers, they seem to have a very loyal following.I visited this nail salon recently while in town and genuinely wanted to love it because I was greeted so warmly and the owners were so polite and friendly and genuinely seemed interested in taking care of my needs.However, they are severely under-staffed.  It would seem that everyone in Stafford gets their nails done on Saturday afternoon.  In addition to waiting longer than I was told the wait would be, they totally neglected my manicure.  When I arrived, I requested a mani/pedi.  I received my pedicure and was left to dry.  When I was still waiting 25 mins later for my manicure, the owner asked me... did you need something else?  Despite having told the receptionist I wanted both manicure and pedicure, they were far too busy and under-staffed at this point to accommodate my request.Further, I witnessed approximately 10-12 potential customers get turned away due to not having the staff to accommodate the amount of customers they received.  This salon is located in the busiest shopping plaza in Stafford with little competition in the near vicinity, right next to a Starbucks, yogurt shop, grocery store, Pier 1, TJ Maxx, Target, etc.  It would seem that based on foot traffic alone you'd be the busiest nail salon in Stafford.  However, due to being remarkably under-staffed, they simply cannot handle the volume.  Which is an absolute shame because the owners are some of the nicest folks I have met.Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.  The straw that broke the camels back for me was that after waiting for my pedicure, it was rushed, sloppy, and unprofessional.  The polish application was something I could have done at home on my own.  I had selected my husband's favorite color for my mani/pedi, hoping to surprise him that afternoon when he returned from a golf trip... and instead of surprising him, my fingernails were in the same terrible shape I arrived with... and it looked like I had painted my toes myself very hastily.I hardly ever splurge on mani/pedi anymore... I just find that it's not worth the cost most of the time when I can do my nails at home for a fraction of the cost.  So to have spent the money and had such a disappointing experience is really too bad. Not worth the money. I paid extra for a deluxe pedicure and it seemed less than a regular pedicure at other nail salons. The really only difference was a change in polish. My nails and feet felt the same as when I went in. I also went in for a gel manicure and they didn't remove all the polish from my previous manicure, they put the gel on thick and clumpy. And the owner will talk to you like you're her therapist and tell you all of her problems. Not what I'm trying to hear when I'm relaxing. A friend and me came in for her birthday. She received and pedi and I wanted a full set. I figured they would take us in at the same time. The one lady who greeted us got my friend and asked me to sit and talk to her as I waited for her to finish my friend so she could do mine. I asked who would be doing mine so we could leave at the same time and she replied to a man who was over there and he's almost done. I'm always quite picky about my salons and the way that my nails and hands are handled. I hesitated to try a new salon, but since I had been  unsatisfied with others in the area, I decided to go to Hands to Hold after reviewing their organized website. I am pleased to announce that I had a fantastic experience with the woman who did my gel manicure today. She was kind and paid great attention to detail. I felt like she really cared about how I felt about the outcome of the nails, all while engaging me in friendly conversation. My nails turned out beautiful. Clean and neat and pretty close to perfect. I will definitely be returning as I felt very comfortable in the welcoming environment and the results exceeded my expectations by miles. Thanks Ooy! This place isn't too great. I paid extra for the pedi with extra massage, but I felt as though I got less than the average pedi offers.Prices are a little higher than the average nail salon in the area. $8 for French tip!The chairs are very old and the buttons were broken. My issues with this place are sanitation and cost.  I spent $90 on a gel mani and a gel pedi, not including tip.  You would think with these prices, the massage chairs would work, but most of them were missing the buttons to operate them.  My second issue, sanitation, is what concerns me most.  My technician took the clippers, files, etc. for both nails and feet out of a silver box at each station.  When she was done using them on me, she put them back in the boxes.  She did not sanitize them.  Also, she used a nail buffer that had clearly been used on other people multiple times.  Lastly, and most disturbing, she swept my fingernail clippings into her drawer.  Gross!!  I will not be back. Absolutely horrible experience. I've been to this nail salon a few other times and each time  you think I would learn my damn lesson. Absolutely horrible customer service. I went in well before the shop was suppose to close and the technician immediately began to rush. I showed him a picture and he barely acknowledged the photo of what I wanted done and began to do a full gel set....when I saw my nails I was horrified it looked terrible. I kindly told him that it wasn't what the photo looked like at all and both him and the manager began to speak in their native language which is absurdly rude since I don't get what they were saying,  I'm all about speaking in your language  but not when you have a business  to run. I told them that it's not how I wanted my nails they attempted to convince  me by some miracle it was going to get better with the gel...WHAT?? I told then to remove the acrylic and that I wanted out. They kept going back and forth in their language which made me feel so special. I wouldn't go here even if it's the last salon on earth. I've been going here almost 3 years.  They can be a bit pricey.  I've strayed over to a few other nail salons in the 3 years I've been here just to see what they were about but no one has done a better job than Hands to Hold.  The other salons just didn't compare.  I usually go on a weekday so it's less crowded and I never have to wait.  I take my daughter with me and Kelly is the best and pampers her so much.  I really like all the ladies (and gentlemen) that work here.  There isn't one person I wouldn't let give me a pedicure, they're all nice and do a great job. I visited here with my daughter (6yo) and had a great mother daughter pedi! The staff was very nice and helpful. They offered things without being pushy. We got to relax and have a good time. Usually when I have gone to nail salons the staff is talking in their native language the whole time, today even if the staff was talking to each other they were doing it in english and allowing me to participate in the conversation. Yes, I am of the male gender. Yes, I got my eyebrows waxed. It was fantastic! In and out in 5 minutes! You can't pass up $10 for erasing that caterpillar from between my eyes! I will be going back to this shop many more times! Read Less
