I enjoyed everything about Polished by Claire V. The customer service is beyond wonderful. Everyone engages with you. It almost feels like your hanging with your girlfriend's. Megan was my technician and she took her time, was very thorough, and took pride in her work from how neat my nails turned out. The complimentary wine was definitely a plus. Dallas, oooh Dallas just all around great and helpful. Melissa, conversation were awesome and enjoyable. Very clean location, and the smell was delightful. I hired Amanda and Michelle for hair and makeup for my wedding day and they did an amazing job! They did 7 people total on the day of and came in with no idea of what to expect since we didn't have time to do a trial beforehand, but they handled everything really well and everyone looked great! They were also very personable and made sure everyone was getting exactly what they wanted. Even with the time crunch, because my bridal party and I were slowing things down (not their... fault at all), they handled the stress of putting last minute touches on everyone and getting everyone ready flawlessly. I was so grateful for their help! Michelle was also a huge help to me when I was running around doing last minute things, she remembered things I had forgotten and loaned us scissors when we needed them! I've always wanted to try this place. I looked at the menu and picked out the executive pedicure because it sounded magnificent and said it would be 75 minutes. So of course I thought it would actually be pampering and have a leg and foot massage longer than a minute on both feet and overall around a 35-40 minute pedicure from beginning to end when it was indicated to be 75 minutes long. I was highly disappointed by the executive experience and other salons spend more time massaging and caring for your feet than what I experienced. I've tried this salon once and I won't be back for a pedicure. And I took a friend for their birthday with me and he was also not impressed by the amount we paid for the services or lack there of. With that being said the technicians seemed very nice and my friend liked the sugar scrubs. I will be going back to my regular salon from now on. Read Less

The only place in Roanoke to get your nails done. Clean, professional, and relaxing. I read over the bad reviews and they're laughable, they were obviously written by someone who hasn't been to Polished before. Dallas at the downtown location is amazing and she is really friendly, but anyone you go to there is very talented and professional. Is it a little more expensive than the other nail places in the area, yes? Is it worth it? Of course it is. Do yourself a favor, go to Polished and you wont be disappointed. Most of the bad reviews are close to 5 years old, I think they've made improvements, give them another chance, I'm sure you wont be sorry. Laura at the Blacksburg office was running late for my appt yesterday. Brittany who was also there approached me to review the polish colors selected. She made sure I was comfortable and engaged while waiting. She started my manicure although her client was walking thru the door, just as I was getting anxious about missing another commitment made for later. She made me less anxious and as her client arrived the conversations became very lively and fun. Laura had finished and was able to take over my mani-pedi . It turned into one of my most fun days meeting new people and getting a fantastic mani-pedi. Polished went out of there way to make things right. I had a wonderful experience. The place is clean and beautiful. Nothing like I experienced the first time. While this place definitely is very trendy and pretty to look at, their quality of service was not what I expected for the price and based on the look of the place.  I live in Blacksburg and have been driving to Christiansburg to get my nails done.  Maybe they don't "speak good English" where I go now (they actually speak fluently if you try to talk to them), but at least they aren't speaking good English to one another talking about other clients and how annoying they are that they don't have the common sense to book their "party" of four people a month in advance!The main reason I tried this place in the first place is because it looked like a classy upscale salon and I thought that I might walk out with an even better pedicure than I had been getting at my other place.  After calling multiple times to get an appointment and finding out that they expect you to book your appointments at least two weeks in advance (who does that?!?!?), I almost gave up, but they were able to "squeeze me in" on a rainy Wednesday when they had "one opening."  I walk in and NOBODY is in the salon, nor did they have a single other customer come in the whole time I got my pedicure!  They only have about 10 colors to choose from and they're all shades of pink!  I was looking for something a little more from such an "upscale" salon.The girl who did my pedicure DID spend a good amount of time on it and used all kinds of fancy lotions and washes--one good thing about this place.  BUT, you have to sit on a hard bench with your feet in a small sink!  I'm not sure about anyone else, but part of the reason I like to get a pedicure is to sit in the massage chair where you can lay your head back!  Not on a bench that the back rest barely comes halfway up my back!  When I got home to more closely inspect my manicure, you could easily see brush strokes on all my toes, and the polish was done very sloppily on my right big toe.  The polish started chipping off within one week, when I'm used to pedicures lasting upwards of two-three weeks.Then, as I stated before, the girls in the shop who were so "busy" that they can NEVER take a walk-in proceeded to talk to each other about other clients and how annoying they are, etc.  I also witnessed two phone calls where the girl who answers the phone (that's her only job-to answer the phone)  was much less than friendly to the person on the other end, and then after she hung up acted like it was such an inconvenience for her to have had to answer that call.While it does look like a great place for a bridal party or a group of girls to all go and get their nails done, and it does appear clean and has a good ambiance (when the girls who work there aren't talking), I was less than impressed with the service and by the way the girls in the shop acted.  I won't be returning to waste my money on an expensive pedicure that didn't even last and to tip someone who is obviously so busy with other clients(?) that they make you book so far in advance and then talk about you as soon as you get off the phone with them. Best place in Roanoke for manicures/pedicures!! In the middle of downtown Roanoke's market area, I only discovered this place too late (during the last few months of my 3 year stay) but the time spent there was fantastic! Great to bring a friend with you to have some girl time with side by side pedicures, custom made scented lotions with a glass of champagne and desert. I'm amazed that this place doesn't have a Yelp page yet! I saw their storefront while perusing the downtown farmer's market and had to give them a try. The staff is friendly and all speak good English, and the salon is cute, cozy and very clean. I felt comfortable and at home here; it's a very relaxing environment.  I got the express mani-pedi and my nails came out great (it's been 4 days and my manicure is still chip-free!). They offer a decent selection of OPI polishes, as well as their own brand. I only wish they offered some lotion after express services, because my skin can get dry after a soapy soak. While I'm used to having a massage chair and jets in the foot bath at other places, I really didn't miss them when I got my nails done here. Their seating is still pretty comfortable, and not having to worry about contracting an infection from foot bath jets is a plus. I was also offered some tea during my pedicure, which was a nice touch.I haven't tried any of the other services yet but I look forward to getting my eyebrows done or a massage here and will update if I do. I love that their prices make it possible to pamper myself more often, while still having the look and feel (and cleanliness!) of a pricier salon.
