They do a fantastic job in here but my review is low for another reason. Today I arrived around 6:30. It is 10 after 7 now. Yes, I am in the chair. But today confirmed something that I noticed before yet didn't know if I was just making up in my head. When I walked in today I was not greeted at all. I found that strange but proceeded to sign in anyway and choose my color. As I was picking my color at the wall one lady finally approached and asked if I was getting a pedicure today. I told her I was and she ran the water for my feet and pointed to a seat. I sat down and have beem sitting patiently since. About 15 minutes later a white lady and gentleman walked in. They were greeted before they got in completly. They asked them if they had called before. They looked confused yet said no. She wanted a gel manicure and he wanted a pedicure. They escorted him to a seat and they escorted her to a chair to let her gel soak off. About 5 minutes later another white couple walked in. Again they were greeted immediately. They both were getting pedicures and got escorted to their seats. I chose to write this review now at 10 after 7 because the lead lady of this salon just came over to inform me that my wait would be even longer because the people who came in (the white couples) had appointments. That's interesting considering that I heard her ask one couple if they called before and they said no. And she didn't even ask the other two. I come here all the time and tip them obviously way too much since apparently I'm not valuable. And as I write this two black customers have walked in....no greeting. This is a extremely disappointing day for me. I honestly feel hurt. They could at least offer to run more warm water. After driving two hours to come to Richmond I decided to look for a nail shop close to the area I happen to be in and I stumbled across Sunshine Nails and I saw they had great reviews and was rated 5 Star so I headed right in. As I came in the door I was greeted and escorted to a chair for my pedicure.. when I tell you the young lady took her time and perfected my pedicure making sure she did every step properly...she went above and beyond and to me that really shows how much they value their work and the customers. I would DEFINITELY come back to get my nails done here. The tech is beyond amazing and she takes her time to do your nails to make sure you're satisfied with her. She's very sweet and considerate. I wanted to have my previous acrylics removed which was done at a different nail salon, but I was advised not to do so because they were still fresh and it would be painful to remove since my natural nails were so thin already. So I had the old gel polish filed off and chose a nudey mauve and a sparkly accent color. Service was clean, quick and friendly..the location is a plus, only a brisk ten minute walk from home. I absolutely love it here! Although, they are a bit far from my home, I still find myself making a future appointment every time. They are talented in their nail art and their gel is amazing! I love welcome nails! They are super clean and treat their customers with respect. After being treated poorly in the past at other nail salons, I feel very comfortable here. My first visit to this salon was a real disappointment. Went in with my daughter. Daughter wanted a pedicure and bikini wax. I only wanted a pedicure. Was told there would be a 60 minute wait for the wax and 30 min wait for pedicure. That sounded reasonable so we stayed. After 15 minutes we were directed to our pedicure chairs. We both sat with feet in the water for over 45 minutes before a technician came to my chair. However, there were 2 other customers also waiting in their pedicure chairs longer than us so we asked the tech to wait one of them first. Another 20 minutes goes by. Another tech came to my chair but there was still the 2nd customer waiting longer then us so again we had to ask her to help the other lady. Tech #3 comes to my chair. By this time we had been sitting with our feet in the water for over an hour. She starts working on me. My daughter is still sitting with her feet in cold water. Another customer comes in and wants a pedicure. They were going to put her in an empty chair but by now my daughter has no more time to wait so she gave the customer her chair. My daughter never got her pedicure or wax after waiting over an hour and a half. They were very unorganized and didn't seem to care about the comfort of their customers. I've been going here for about 4 years. They are awesome. Anybody that is busy can become overwhelmed, However these women handle the hustle and bustle flawlessly with grace. This use to be my favorite place to get my nails done. They were always clean, professional and the work was expectional. Since the growth in their clientele the service have went down. My sister and I went in for a pedicure and the polished chipped in three (3) days. When I went back the owner "Van" said because I work out the polished chipped (which is a lie) I got my chin waxed and they tried to rip off my entire chin with one strip.
