Terrible experience and customer service before I even got to the door. I recently moved to Richmond and had purchased a Groupon voucher for a mani/pedi. I called to schedule my appointment and was told that the salon would not honor my purchase because they “no longer work with Groupon.” There were no apologies for the inconvenience and the receptionist did not invite me to the salon to book another appointment. My view is that the salon’s staff is unprofessional and uncaring and they will not receive my business in the future. So I purchased an Groupon for an manicure and pedicure and scheduled an appointment the beginning of April for Tuesday. The owner calls the day of my appointment and tell me she will have to reschedule because there were issues with Groupon. So I had to cancel because I was leaving to go out of town that Thursday. I contacted Groupon and they told me I couldn’t get an refund or credit. Fast forward til today, I attempted to another appointment and an hour later it’s cancelled. The person is saying “Appointment cannot be accommodated with Artricia Balenci Salon and Spa on Thu, May-03-2018 due to: I am no longer working with Groupon. Unfortunately I cannot accept your Groupon voucher or honor the money you paid for the voucher because Groupon has not paid me. You can get a credit from Groupon that you can use toward any deals they offer. This is what customers are doing so they don't lose their money completely. Thank you” It’s sad that neither company will accommodate me, whatever these companies have going on between each other shouldn’t effect an customer. I have been searching for someone who was local that could take care of my hair and make sure that the breakage stops. I found Artricia's post on facebook about her "Blowtique Cocktail" special and made a phone call ASAP. When she answered we scheduled my appointment, deposit was paid and I arrived the day of appointment nervous for it to be my first time. Not only did Artricia make sure that my visit was comforting and that I left feeling great about my hair. She explained everything I needed to do to make sure that we got my hair growing and on its journey to becoming natural. She explained every product she put in my hair and why she was using it. Artricia has been taking care of my hair for just about 2yrs now. Every service is individualized and catered specifically to your hair needs. The massage when she washes your hair is always a favorite! Her professionalism and passion for doing hair shows throughout her service and in your final hair results. I always leave feeling happy and refreshed! My hair loves her for it and I always get the question "Are you still natural, your hair looks good!" Because my hair is so fine, not every one can manage my hair type and the style lasts! With that being said, not everyone can maintain my natural curl pattern either and so they wound up giving me heat damage or my hair never lasts. BUT Artricia surpasses the care my hair requires and helps to keep my natural pattern reserved. I don't like for anyone else to do my hair besides Artricia. Got a manicure/pedicure groupon for this place and although it was quite a drive from me, totally worth it. I got an amazing gel manicure and wasn't charged extra for the glitter on my ring fingers. I've been to Artricia Balenci Salon and Spa twice and both times that I've been I walked out feeling great. I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural and it's been a struggle until I came here. I love that the salon is peaceful, clean, and very relaxing. I also love that I'm not sitting in the salon all day. My time is valued when I enter the salon. Artricia is fabulous with hair cuts and colors. She takes her time and really works with your hair type and color wishes so that your style and color works best for you. I've never had a bad experience with her, and highly recommend her. She is a very professional and great at what she does! Although she is pricier than some hairstylists out there, you really do get what you pay for with her. She is very skilled, talented, and experienced. Furthermore, she is always keeping up with cutting edge colors and styles as well. I also really trust her product recommendations for caring for your hair after coloring! I started going to her because I got a Groupon about 3 years ago, but continued coming back to her because I trust her with my hair so much! Other hairstylists I've had in the past have rushed through coloring or cuts and generally been inconsistent with their services, but that's never been my experience with her, she is awesome! Artricia is the epitome of perfection!  I love the care and technique for doing nails and pedicures.  Most impressive is the fact that you know you will not risk "cross-contamination" especially when doing your pedicures.  She uses disposable - did you hear me ladies! Disposable liners for her pedicures and she uses disposable ONE USE only boards to take away all the dead skin!  She is just as meticulous when it comes to doing your nails and the spa manicures are to die for!  I highly recommend her services.  Once you come you know that you are being properly taken care of...NO RUSH/NO CONTAMINATION/NO NONSENSE.
