If I could I would put ZERO stars. When I came in I told them I wanted my nails soaked off and a new set and pedicure, the woman that greeted me told me it would take too long to soak my nails so she could just repair my nails I told her no I wanted them soaked off so she called a man from the back to start my pedicure. The man did not greet me or even tell me where to sit but I took the hint when he started running the water. I had on skinny jeans and could only roll my pants legs half way so the man begins huffing loud and pulling my pants leg up until they were cutting off my circulation. He left twice in the middle of my pedicure leaving cold towels on my feet obviously pissed about something. When he came back I told him the towels were cold and he started laughing and mocking me then was extremely too rough with the cuticle cutter. I finally had ENOUGH when he starts putting globs of gel polish on my toe and then sits the lamp ON TOP of my toe when I tell him it’s on top he pretends he can’t hear me I got up and another lady stopped me and said she would do my nails instead I told her I needed them soaked and a new set and she says I should have told them 30 minutes ago. I can only speak for one person and that is TAWNIE. her work is immaculate, the time she puts into the quality and the details of her work is more than admirable. After moving to Virginia from Chicago where I'd put in 10+ years with the same nail tech, it has truly been a journey finding someone with quality work. Just when I though I'd found the person I'd make my 10+ tech she closed her shop down and stopped doing nails, not to mention, A MONTH BEFORE MY WEDDING!!!! I was hysterical, I mean really to pieces. A friend of mine recommended Tawnie to me, only catch was she was by appointment only and typically is BOOOOOKED. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try despite the warning of demand. I texted her one morning and not even an hour later i was locked in for an appointment the next week for my trial set for my wedding. And I must say I WAS BLOWN AWAY. two weeks later I was in for my full set for my wedding and everY 3 weeks after I have been in her seat faithfully, with standing appointments months out. Just got my nails done. One of my worst experiences with nails. First off they charged me for a spa manicure and didn’t even have soap!!!! Told me rinse my hands no soap. So if that’s the case how are you sanitizing No solution for sanitation tools or soap to wash hands!!! The only reason I completed the manicure was because they soaked my polish off. Then on top of that my nails are filed down so low I have nubs and I came in with natural nails DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A REFERENCE FOR A TECH THAT HAS THERE STUFF TOGETHER. Went early afternoon on a Friday. Got seated quickly and immediately put into a chair to start my pedicure. Was going in for a basic pedicure and gelManicure. Pedicure was great, no complaints. But for my manicure, I am not impressed. It start chipping the very next day. And now, 3 days later, 6 out of 10 fingers have chipped and I've had to file my nails even further. The last 2 manicures I've had, from a different salon, lasted an entire 3-4 weeks without a single chip. I came to this place last minute because it had decent reviews and I was in a time crunch..but in the future, I will not be getting anything more than a basic manicure at this salon, if even that. Made appointment for 3 people. The salon was cluttered but overall appeared clean. The nail technicians were not available when we arrived. We waited over an hour before other nail techs did our mani/pedi.  One person - real professional.- removed  the gel on my nails. Another gentleman actually carried out my gel manicure. The polish was unevenly applied and chipped the next day. My daughter's pedicure polish peeled the next day. Not going back. We left generous tips, but got poor service, bad products and wasted hours. I have a tight work schedule and now I have to find time for another manicure. We were looking for a salon to host 7 of us. Tawnie is an absolutely awesome and talented nail artist and in my opinion, is exactly what this area needed regarding innovative and creative nail talent. I absolutely have no idea how this place has so many stars. Never in my life have I ever felt so grossed out by a place. I just left this place from wanting to get mani pedis with my daughter since they have a small girl chair. Someone was sitting in the chair right next to the kid chair... the only person getting a pedi at the time. They weren't anticipating a child I get it so we were gonna get our nails done first and wait. They painted my daughters nails and then said her water was ready. I said can we do my nails first and then we can get our pedis at the same time since the lady was still in the chair I would've needed to sit in. She said oh you want your nails too? Um yes both us mani pedis. Well they started my daughters pedi while I just sat in a chair at the front and watched. So while her nails and toes were drying he starts my pedi water, I said sorry sir I'm just getting my nails done now since I wanted to get one with my daughter not after. Okay he gets someone else in the chair and no one acknowledges my nails needing to be done. THEN THIS IS WHERE IT GETS NASTY. the lady who I was waiting initially to get up leaves and she drains the water and fills it back up and sits a lady down. DOESNT RINSE THE TUB, SPRAY THE TUB ABOSLUTELY NOTHING. that is a health code violation and absolutely nasty. Will never return they don't care about cleanliness at all. Read Less

Came here with a friend and luckily she got a nice nail tech but I wasn't as fortunate. The lady was super rough and super rude. This was my first time there and she seemed like she had an attitude the whole time and when I was picking out my color she  stood in the middle of the salon with her hands open rushing me. idk how this place has so many stars. I'm from northern virginia and stopped by here on a way to an event in Hampton. i may have been spoiled by NoVa salons, but it was pretty tacky looking inside. The african-american lady that did my nails was nice but kept burning me with the filing tools (never even knew those things could burn you). I was sent to another girl to get my nails painted and had to tell her to also paint the sides of my nails because she was going to leave them unpainted. I've been here a few times and today I took my 14 year old for her second pair of gel nails. First time we had Henry. He was very nice and did a great job. This place is amazing. Very clean and professional. The service my daughter and I received was great. Workers took the time to complete our request even though they would be closing. It wonderful that workers have so much pride in their job that they do it right and don't rush based on the time on the clock. Don't let the man there do your nails. My nails looked absolutely horrible! & started lifting the next day smh. I asked for uv gel nails which is what was listed on the price list, definitely not uv gel nails. Said it was powder gel..bullshit. Looked just like regular acrylic. It was a 1 as far as how I was treated .I was treated bad as , they speak in Vietnamese and talk about people like dogs the first time making an appointment it was ok but they do talk a lot and nail tech was new she did a poor design or what she knew to be one it was more like sad nails then happy . My grandmother and I called in to Happy Nails before going in, just to check if they could do a walk-in. They said we could and when we both got there, we didn't need to wait at all! They took us in and did our waxing and our manicures. I got Kathy and she was so sweet and we made small talk which was great because it was my first time getting my nails done. I absolutely loved the outcome by the way! I didn't realize how much I needed to get my nails done until I saw Kathy work. Thank goodness for her! My grandmother got Crystal and she said that she did a great job on her nails after she was done and would have to come back soon and try the experience all over again! We both loved the little hand massage given to us during our manicures, not sure if it's actually part of the manicure by it was something we very much appreciated. Also, salute to Tracy who did our waxing. She did my grandmother first and while I got my nails done she did five eyebrow waxings back-to-back, it was quite interesting to watch! The prices were great and quite a deal! For me, it took less than hour for the manicure and the waxing to do. I am so happy that I know about this place now!! My sister found it on Yelp, and it is definitely a gem. Crystal did my spa pedicure and it was amazing. Katie is great as well, she did my sister's. Today was my first time coming to this shop. The guy that did my nails was a total jerk! He didn't my nails so super crappy and said to the manager in another language that was because I kept moving to tend to my daughter! I don't care what the situation was you don't give crappy service to anyone paying their money. I said you will have to do one hand at a time and he had a problem with that. My kid comes first and for most.  Yeah she got fussy and I apologized for that but don't think you can treat me any kind of way. I spoke to the manager and she another last, Sherita, to redo them. She was a lifesaver!! I'm so happy she was there. I don't get time to do my nails until the weekend when my husband is off. I want to do somethin nice for the holidays and I encounter that. Beyond happy! I went there because I saw the reviews. I had gotten my nails done at another place about a week before and two of them had broken off completely! I was so mad, I went to happy nails and they fixed and replaced my broken nails! I got a fill, nail repair, and cut down for a very reasonable price! Will most definitely be going here again! Great! Strongly reccomend Mary. She's friendly, good at her job, and she speaks english! Got gel manicure and regular pedicure, plus eye brow wax. Fast and good customer service. I have really light blond eyebrows that are thin, so it's hard to find someone that can shape/cleanup without taking them off. Mary did great on my brows/pedi, and she put an extra layer on my nails when I pointed out a mistake that the first person had made on them. Definitely reccomend, and you should ask for Mary. I found this place by looking at the reviews. Overall it was a great experience. Nathan was the one who did my nails. And he did a great job. He took his time through out the whole process on making sure he did a thorough job. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon and lucky for me there was no wait. A gentleman named Nathan did my manicure and gel nails. He really took his time and made sure he  did it right! I was really happy with the ending results :) I highly recommend you go and ask for Nathan. Like I said, he he sweet and gets the job done! The place itself was pretty clean and spacious. I was turned off a first when I walked in and there was only one other woman getting her pedicure done. Great little nail salon. Had a manicure and pedicure and really enjoyed it. The ladies that worked there all seemed nice and friendly. Surprisingly the did that foot scraping on the bottom of my foot and heels, which isn't allowed anymore in Michigan. I really like it.The place was very clean inside and looked newer. The massage chairs for the pedicures were great and really comfortable. I didn't wait long there either, only about 10 minutes to get my services done. This was a pretty busy nail salon for being a Sunday afternoon. Most salons aren't even open on Sundays. Would I go back there again? For sure!
