I have been going to Sassie's since I was in high school for all of my nail needs. They are friendly and have reasonable prices. And they were close to my house when I used to live in Mechanicsville so that was an added plus although from time to time I might still stop by if I am in the area. Everytime I come in I notice that they are less busy during the day, but definitely more busy on evenings and weekends. I love how spacious their nail salon is and how clean it is kept. They have an ATM inside so no need to worry if you need to take out cash. They have two waxing rooms. The first eye brow waxing experience I had back in high school for senior prom wasn't the best they end up making my eyebrows thinner than I wanted them. So it took me a few years to decide to want to try them out again at getting my eyebrows waxed. I went back and they did a much better job the second go round. For eyebrow waxing I believe it was $7. They offer various nail services, have various colors to choose from, and I love that their chairs are so comfy and an added plus is the massage. Safe to say that they keep me coming back. I go here every 3-4 weeks. I had a problem a couple of months ago with my nails and the owner took care of it immediately. He has been doing my nails ever since. I will admit that some of the techs may rush. But for the most part, they do a great job. Keep in mind, when you end up waiting, it's because other clients have appointments and they get taken first. Horrible! Will not go back there. The shellac Color was clearly running out so it was very thin and he tried to just put six coats on and it looked horrible , he told me he did not have time to redo it with another color I could come back during the week for that. He even said the color was running out but would not let me pick another color . I told him I was paying for my nails so I wanted to pick another color he said he was going to lose money by having to redo my nails and miss another customer . So I definitely do not recommend and will never go back, my nails still look bad. Read Less

I've been going to this salon for several years but after an awful experience yesterday I am finally throwing in the towel! Yesterday, while the salon was full of people getting nail services, a man came in and started arguing with one of the ladies working here. It quickly turned into a screaming match between 4 employees and this man. Extremely hostile and not relaxing at all. Afterwards, not a word was uttered to the patrons from the employees. No apology to the patrons, nothing. Everyone went back to business like a scary screaming match didn't just halt business for 5+ minutes. I've had several things annoy me about this salon but I continue to go back because of the proximity to my home and because the size of the salon usually means little to no waiting time. My biggest issue - not getting a clear topcoat over my pedicure. When I pay $32 for a pedicure, I expect topcoat. That should be standard pedicure procedure. Absolutely ridiculous that I have to go home and apply my own. Only the most expensive pedicure option gives you topcoat included. The upselling. God, the upselling. I understand asking you for more services, but they keep badgering you to add on more (manicures, more expensive pedicure option, wax). They should only be asking once, and then DROP IT. Several times I've had to decline an extra service multiple times. It gets old. I'm here to relax...not get badgered.Last but certainly not least, they only accept cash tips. They won't let you add it on the credit card. I know, I know, they have to pay fees on that, but it is such an inconvenience. Who carries cash these days?! Oh! But look! They have a handy ATM you can use inside the salon to get cash. So then I have to pay a $3+ fee just to get cash to tip...which I'm sure they're getting a cut of. So obnoxious. Went to richmond to visit my family on vacay. Went to sassys for a spa pedicure. Decided to get the 35.00 delux spa, and the attendant kept pushing me to purchase the 45.00 spa. Once i stuck tk my guns and said no firmly for thd 3rd time, service went dow hill quickly. The spa was supposed to last 35 minutes according to their brochure, but mine only last for about 20 minutes. I decided not to press the issue but choose to ignore it. Then i decided to get designs on my big toes and the attendant ignored my requests by walking away as i was speaking to her. At that moment i wanted to just leave. I was there with family and choose to look the other way. I said to myself, im a visitor and dont ever have to come to this place again. In the end i tipped the lady $3 bucks. Job Well Done!I removed my nails for a short period of time, because of budget restraints. Now, I’m able to treat myself for my bi-weekly gel nail, and spa pedicure. I didn’t want to return to the nail salon located in White Oak Shopping Center. The atmosphere was a little uncomfortable, and not relaxing. Prior to selecting Sassy I visually visited three nail salons, and I’m huge on impression. I wasn’t impressed by the three salons I visually visited. I love the atmosphere, and the customer service. If you pay by credit card you will need to bring cash for your tip. My gel nails look great, and my pedicure was outstanding. Please note you’re in control of your dollar if you’re not happy about your service have the tech correct it prior to you leaving otherwise it’s a waste of your money. Read Less

I recently got a regular manicure here and it was not a good one. Like another reviewer said, I could have painted them better myself. They were barely filed and misshaped and she did not know what she was doing when painting and didn't put enough paint on the brush, so there is a lot of dark polish at the top of my nails and light at the bottom. She also brought me up to the cash register without drying, where I then suggested I should dry them... This place is horrible!!! I had an unexpereinced girl do a horrible job on a brazilian and the manager acted like I was insane for requesting a discount. They had to have another girl fix what the first girl had messed up. If you want to have your crotch plucked with tweezers for an hour, this is your place. Read Less

I will not go back to this salon, nails poorly done by Katie, The price is too high for the quality of service. They should have a price list. I could have did a better job myself. I have NEVER had my nails done as bad as they were done there. I could have done a better job myself!! I have polish in the corners of my toes (where the skin is) and all of my toe nails and figure nails are different sizes and shapes. Also they are way more expensive than any where in that area.
