I usually don’t write reviews on service experience but out of all of the nail services in the area, and I’ve been to many, Joy nails is by far the most unprofessional. There was only one woman working when my friend and I walked in and the entire time we were there she was yelling at someone over FaceTime. We could hear the entire conversation and she would take breaks while working on my friends nails to continue her phone conversation. I have never left a place more angry. I would highly recommend going somewhere more professional. We went in wanting waxes as well but left early because it was so unpleasant. Read Less

This was my first time to this salon and the lady who helped me did a fantastic job with my nails. I got a gel fill-in with French and she did a great job. I went in the afternoon and no one was there so I assume they don't get a lot of business. Very reasonably priced as well, I didn't see a price list anywhere while I was in there though. Read Less

I always feel so disappointed with the service here. They do a good job which keeps me coming back, but each time I think, why did I come here? The workers are more interested in having conversations with each other than actually doing nails or waxing eyebrows. It's pretty ridiculous when you go in for a quick wax and the girl literally stands in the doorway for 5 min just yelling across the whole place to talk about something personal. I simply cannot seem to get a good nail service in Lynchburg! I called Joys Nails the morning of my friend's wedding to schedule a last-minute mani. The gentleman that I spoke to was quick to accommodate me, which was nice. I went in on Saturday morning, and the place was completely empty except for one employee. Most of the nail polishes appeared old, but I finally selected one that looked relatively decent. Then my service commenced.  The gentleman never asked me what shape or length I wanted my nails to be, and everything felt a little dirty. When he was done with my cuticles and nails, he asked me to go wash my hands. At the sink, I inspected my nails and noticed that my cuticles looked awful. They were choppy and some long pieces of partially cut cuticle were dangling from my fingers. How did he not notice?? I went back and asked him to finish cutting my cuticles, which he did. The towels available for hand-drying looked clean but were covered with tiny  cotton fibers that wouldn't come off my hands and ruined the polish on a few fingers. The gentleman agreed to redo those fingers as well. While I was getting my service, three women came in requesting walk-in pedicures. The gentleman told them to stay, but then made them wait while I finished my service (they probably had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes). When I left, I still wasn't sure how he planned on doing all three services by himself! This place is reasonably priced and the gentleman was nice, which is the only reason I am giving any stars at all. However, I will definitely be getting my nails done BEFORE I come to Lynchburg again. Read Less

I have never bothered writing any kind of review before, but this place was so horrible I had to write a review to warn everyone to steer clear. This was the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. The owner did my nails; she rushed through the whole process, was much too abrasive, obviously irritated, with her job, and did a horrible job on both of my nails. Neither my pedicure nor my manicure (I had shellac gel) lasted a week. The entire place was filthy and on top of it all, it was expensive. Never, ever again. Read Less

Needed a manicure while visiting a friend...im from out of town.  This place is really unclean. I will not go back. There were dirty towels on the floor, the floor was really dirty, there was nail dust everywhere, and dust bunnies in the corner. In addition, the nail tech got red polish on my cuticles and skin. I had to point her to the spots and ask that she fix it. I could have just painted my own nails for free at home! When I told the manger that she was sloppy, I got something mubled in response. The price is right - $20 for a pedicure - but I was less than thrilled with the service. The nail tech was rough enough with my cuticles that she caused pain, and she was so involved with the movie that was playing on the TV behind her that she kept stopping my pedicure to turn around and watch it. I mean, look, I get it -- not all of us want to be at work. But if you're customer service-oriented, you don't give your customer the impression that you want to be somewhere else.I doubt I'd go here again, in all honesty. I came out of the salon with different shades of nail polish on my toes and fingers. I didn't notice it until I was in natural sunlight. Also, while I was getting my nails done, another worker was watching a rated R movie and munching on chips next to me. Not professional in my opinion. Read Less
