Vickie does a good job with shaping acrylics. Santa does a great job with pedicures and overall customer service. Attitudes tend to flare if you have questions, special requests or objections to how your nails look. Wouldn’t choose as a go to for waxing. Good shop overall. Read Less

I walked in asking for a fill and pedicure  with Vicki since I saw her work on Instagram, but was told she was appointment only--even though their instagram says walk-ins welcome.  I had to wait about 30 minutes for service which wasn't too bad for a Saturday afternoon, but there was no hot water so someone had to heat the water then add it to the tub. The lady that did my nails did a good job, but my color and design were slightly off.  She insisted that she used the color I wanted, but it clearly wasn't. They still came out nice though. For a fill-in ($20) with shellac polish ($10) and halo powder ($10) along with a regular pedicure ($23), I paid $63 plus gratuity. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I still like my nails. I was recommended to this nail salon by a friend who went to Vikki and never had a disappointing appointment. I decided to try it out and one year later i am still a client of Vikki's. Everyone that works there is soooo sweet and kind and especially Vikki who takes time to know her customers. She's fast BUT efficient. I've never had someone so consistent, her work never changes! I was hesitant, as this place was a 20 minute drive, and I usually just hit some spot in the neighborhood where they'll do an eh job but get it done. My friend told me to try this place and ask for Vickie. Not only was I in and out faster than usual ( I got seen as soon as it hit my appointment time) but she did better than any other nail tech I've had. Vickie is a sweetheart. She prefers appt via text which also makes for an easy and quick service. I normally spend 45mins to an hour here. Vickie is the lead nail tech but does majority appointments. There are other nail techs available to take walk ins but Vickie is my Go To. I love her. She shapes your nails perfectly and I'm big on that. Not to mention she fast! Love her! Read Less

V I C K I is my girl! I love going to this nail salon and KNOWING that I will be taken care of. I am very picky about my nails and the way my cuticals are, I love a more natural smooth feel. I tried City Nails for the first time today, I had a gel manicure just over a week ago at another salon and it was ALREADY peeling so I decided to give this salon a try after my coworker recommended them. The salon is small and cozy, I stopped by around 4:00pm on a Wednesday and already half the pedicure stations and manicure stations were full, but there was no wait. I was directed to a box of palettes to pick out my color for my shellac/gel manicure... I wasn't super impressed with their nail color selections, but I ended up landing on a neon pink/orange that I really liked. The woman who did my nails was quiet but meticulous! She did a great job making sure my cuticles were trimmed and pushed back, and all the coats of polish were even. She was a little rough taking off my previous gel manicure (what was still remaining anyways!) but I know the glitter polishes are harder to remove sometimes... I just wish she was a little more conscious because it did hurt a little. But beauty is pain I guess! In the end my manicure looks incredible! I went to City Nails for the first time today. I made an appointment with Vicki and upon my arrival, she seated me as soon as I walked in the door. Vicki was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have gone here twice. The first time I had a decent experience but the nails broke a few days later. This time I went to have a pedicure. Upon going in the lady behind me who obviously didn't have an appointment but was a regular was given the spot before me, no big deal, but the gentlemen casually screams out pedicure which I thought he was talking to me not the lady who came in after me and was immediately screamed at by all the women working in the salon. Upon my appologizes they calmed down...my pedicure was taken care of but it took a much longer than anticipated. I then go to have my fill in done, I had a broken nail which was partially detached but still sticking on there. It was sore and sensitive to the touch yet numerous times upon my protest it was drilled rather than removed with scissors, upon protests that she was too weak. The lady who obvious is the best in the salon came and even told her to cut it then fill with acrilic yet she continued to drill against my protests insisting she was doing as the lady had said and cutting it. I let this ride as I eventually took the nail off myself since the communication wasn't there between my nail technician and I. This is something I've never had happen in my 15 years having my nails done. The Broken nail needed repairing so she placed a fake one over to ,arch the shape I had already had but did it too much at an angle, I asked her to redo it and the lady who was more experienced came over after ten minutes of me trying to explain what I wanted and the other woman not getting it. She didn't listen either and rudely threw acrilic over the nail I had asked to be replaced and was hastily trying to do the same to the rest. I tried again For minutes of time to explain why this wasn't what I wanted and I was displeased with the shape. My nail pointed way too far to one side and was narrower than my other nails had been. She got mad at me and stormed off talking negatively about me to the lady who's nails she was doing. The lady who did my nails kept going and this time she kept filing my nIls into "shape" ignoring my protests of pain and filing my hand until it bled. Still continuing until I physically had to remove my hand from hers. She apologized then put a used bottle of bandage adhesive to my open blood Nd was upset when I exclaimed how unhygienic that was. She didn't seem to understand why I had a problem with her using an already used container and touching my blood with it, which I'm sure she had done to others before me. I had her finish my nails and even tipped because I knew how bad she was she was probably going to lose her job. Needless to say I will never return and I am considering contacting the better business bureau about the unsanitary conditions and the unprofessional way they conduct their business. I've never had a worse experience in a nail salon. It was ridiculous that I have such a deep cut on my hand for a lady filing my nails, imagine how long she had to file to have a cut that deep on my hand, right under the nail on my pointer finer. Today was the worst. I should have just painted my nails my damn self. They did do it over and it was fine but the young guy who did it has an issue with life, he was very rude even to the lady sitting next to me who was merely asking a question. I called in to make an appointment and the guy told me to come now because they're not busy. I get there a half an hour later and they said they're closed...he said I was late! How could I have been late if I didn't even make an appointment!? And why didn't you say you closed early before I sat in traffic! First time coming here. Called two hours ahead and they fit me in for a shellac mani/pedi. It is cost effective and the employees here actually care about the finished product. This place has been around for a long time. It is a family owned business and I love the mom and daughter. They are so sweet and personal. They make you feel so welcomed in and out of the salon. The prices are reasonable and they do a great job. There pedicures are top quality and they can paint good. That's normally my pet peeve but they do a good job. Wouldn't trade them for the world. Horrible place! I not only got cut on my foot I ended up with a nail fungus!!!I had be going here on my lunch break for over a year and they were nice at first and the price was good but I guess you eventually get what you pay for. My mom brought me here several years ago and I've been coming here ever since!! I love all of the employees here. They're super friendly, enjoy conversation, genuinely like what they do, and all work very hard. Their prices are good and their work is A+ quality... I always make it a point to go mon-wed for their mani pedi deals. No groupon/coupon needed! This place is so good that I come only here and I live near Ashland/VCC area. I am the biggest stickler for good customer service and quality so yeah the drive is worth it. It's my mini-vacay from work/home.Now, let me clear up a few things... 1) No, I'm not Vietnamese. I don't speak their language not do I understand it so there's no "I'm asian, you're asian" type if deal here. 2) I am no cosmetology beauty buff but I know good products and they use good tools and nail products. I know where something is made and what ingredients are used and City Nails uses good products! 3) They work fast and do a great job! Must be an asian thing, idk ;-P but their work ethicis top notch. I have been going to this place for about a year and it was a convent place to work. The service is always longer than normal but adequate  I have not been back for over six weeks now as I was gouged on the side of my foot and it is still healing. Soooo, the girls were really nice and the service was good...but, this morning (not even 24 hours after getting my shellac nail polish) a rather large chunk came off in the shower. Went here today to take advantage of their $18 pedicure deal. I had visited this establishment several times in the past but  it had been a while. I ended up with a technician by the name of Terry, and he was GREAT! I'm very particular about my nails and he did them exactly how I like them. Needless to say, I will be returning! Oh, I will say that, Im only giving 4 stars bc one of the workers made me feel rushed during the drying process. She told me about how nobody comes in after 7 since summer is almost over. Read Less

This was my second time and I will not be coming back.  I was prompted to return because they do have a good deal on Mani/Pedi combos and $18 Spa Pedis on Wednesdays.  They are only getting two stars due to price. Had the service been marginally better it would  still be hard to give them a three star rating.My friend and I were seated for our pedicures and I was immediately told "I needed my eyebrows waxed". Granted I was planning on it but I hate when places are pushy like that.  The lady also made a fuss over why my friend got her eyebrows done somewhere else and not here. In terms of the pedicure, aren't my feet supposed to feel softer afterwards? The leg scrub was the only redeeming part of the process. The "massage" was lackluster in comparison. I like to have a little pressure, my legs are not gonna break. The same lady did my eyebrows and she was rather rough while doing it. She kept grabbing my chin fairly hard to turn my head and pressing the cloth down a little harder than I feel is necessary to pull the wax off.
